In answer to the original "worth it?" question...
I'm now 30 weeks in and have taken 430 odd classes- spin classes, yoga/stretch, strength etc. Even meditation to help me sleep during this recent lockdown.
With the monthly subscription of £39 that works out at around £1.40 a class.
Some of the classes I do (power zone) have a personalised personal trainer aspect, creating targets based on my output and CVS capacity. Still £1.40 a class.
I think that if you are using it a lot (4-5 times per week) and doing a range of classes, the subscription is excellent value. I couldn't find spin classes or personal training at £1.40 a class locally, not even with the cheap council membership.
Of course £39 per month is expensive if you dont use it, but I'm much more likely to throw on some leggings and a sports bra and get on my bike at home than to work out a time with my partner when he'll deal with DC while I go out, try to book a class, have my best (can be seen in public) sportswear ready, and head out for a class with all the travelling time etc that comes with that.
There's a lot of sneering at peloton from (usually male) road cyclists who just don't understand the convenience of a high quality exercise product at home. I guess because they just get out on their bikes and dont consider the woman looking after the kids at home. There are enough "DH's hobby" threads on mumsnet to demonstrate that attitude. I've had Male friends and colleagues sneer about "the bike that goes nowhere" but it's the fact that it goes nowhere that makes it doable for a working mum with 3 DC.
I thought long and hard about the affordability of the bike, which now seems daft compared to our old gym/spa membership which probably worked out at around £10 a visit.
