Peloton - worth it?

I'm contemplating getting a Peloton bike. Are they worth it?
Would I be better off spending that money on a turbo trainer and bike as then I'd have a bike I could use outside as well as in.
It's is quite an expensive purchase so was hoping to hear from those that have one before I make up my mind.

@IceniWarrior

If you are much shorter than average or have shorter arms, you can buy gadgets that adapt spin bikes including peloton for your dimensions. I think company called top form design uk makes them...

I think they say the average 14 year old should be big enough for the bike though, and there is a wide range of adjustment. Sometimes feeling like your arms are too short is about a lack of core strength and struggling to lean forward for the duration of a ride. This improves and it gets easier and easier. Keeping the handlebars high then can help, and taking breaks to sit upright.

I'm 4'9!

@MinecraftMother - reading your post... is there a 10% discount with a FB group, or have I misunderstood?
Debating ordering one now, the only thing putting me off is paying for something now that I wouldn’t get for close to three months.

Ramblingwords · 11/11/2020 23:14

@IceniWarrior

At that height, I’d call them to chat about it.

Here’s the thing that can be added to reduce the distance between handlebars and saddle. I reckon you’ll find a saddle height that suits without any adjustment.

@DesperatelySeekingSunshine I think perhaps just 10% off the accessories.

My bike came way earlier than first envisaged. Loads do!

@MinecraftMother - do you have a referral code? Then you should get an alert when I make the leap!

PaddyF0dder · 12/11/2020 07:35

@DesperatelySeekingSunshine

Happy to provide my referral code. I’ll send you a message.

Batshittery · 12/11/2020 18:47

The referral code gives the buyer £100 of the bike and the provider of the code gets £100 of store credit.

Batshittery · 12/11/2020 18:48

*off

LeaderoftheAteam · 14/11/2020 18:23

If anyone else has a refferal code please pm me. Is it worth waiting until black Friday?

Batshittery · 14/11/2020 18:41

I have sent you a PM Leader

ivykaty44 · 15/11/2020 11:53

@JonHammIsMyJamm which spin bike do you have?

Crunched · 17/11/2020 17:15

I would also be grateful for a referral code if any one is around please.

jcurve · 17/11/2020 17:20

Hi @Crunched, I’ve sent you a PM.

Carriemac · 17/11/2020 17:23

Could I have a referral code? I'll pass one on when we purchase

Batshittery · 17/11/2020 18:40

Carriemac I have sent you a PM Smile

Carriemac · 17/11/2020 18:56

Thank you I'm very grateful

Batshittery · 17/11/2020 19:15

It works for both of us. Smile

Selfcarequeereyestyle · 21/11/2020 13:19

I would love a referral code too. I have been dilly dallying and am going to go for it! Now need to decide if I want the old bike so it arrives sooner or hold out for the bike+... does anyone have an opinion?

jcurve · 21/11/2020 13:39

Hi @Selfcarequeereyestyle, I’ve sent you a PM Smile

PaddyF0dder · 21/11/2020 13:39

@Selfcarequeereyestyle

I’ve sent you a message with my referral code.

I went for the regular bike. Really happy with it. The improvements in the Bike+ seemed very modest, but the price difference is quite large.

SunnySideDownBriefly · 27/11/2020 07:14

This thread has got me on-board with Peloton! Does anyone have a referral code. Think I also need your email so if someone has one then please DM me and I'll order mine today.

PaddyF0dder · 27/11/2020 07:34

@SunnySideDownBriefly

Just sent you a message.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/12/2020 00:52

Question about the Peleton app. Is it subtitled for the classes, please?

I'm deaf. I'm not fond of people shouting as it doesn't help me. I'm not sure how easy it would be to lip read the instructors when they're leading a class.

Givemecoffeeplease · 27/12/2020 15:28

Yes you can have subtitles. I have them on just because I like it that way!

Posting my referral code here to help anyone out - and a treat for me too! QEFGHN
