Good 20 min workouts?

severalboxes · 28/03/2020 16:50

Quick and fairly relaxing. Ideally free or cheap.

Joe Wicks is ok but I'm not sure all that leaping about does my knees any good and the last thing anyone needs is an unnecessary injury now.

Something like Zumba or Pilates? I've been doing yoga with adriene but need something more energetic to go along with it.

Exercise is keeping me sane on lockdown with a baby and 3yo

Any recommendations?

If you've got Amazon prime look out for 'fit in your 40s' by Hunter from the old gladiators show. One of my fave exercise videos :)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 28/03/2020 23:03

I've recently found Me & Mrs Muscle on YouTube. Really good workouts and lots of options. I did a 15 minute low impact cardio earlier and was wrecked at the end.

This sounds good. Thank you.

EmmaStone · 29/03/2020 18:28

Fitness Blender definitely worth a look

Glenthebattleostrich · 29/03/2020 18:30

Fiton app has loads

CaroleBaskin · 29/03/2020 18:32

If you have Instagram the. There are so many doing workouts as a live stream that's available all day. Ones I've seen are:

PureGym
Courtneydblack
Lisafiit
Lucydavisfit
My coach school

If you follow them, all the other ones will be suggested. I've only done one so far but have looked at quite a few 😂

Jillian Michaels Kickbox Fastfix has three 20 minute workouts (upper body, lower body & abs) that are more fun and less gruelling than some of her other dvds. There is also a tutorial at the beginning which is really useful. And when you have more time you can do two or three back to back

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 01/04/2020 14:16

Cassey Ho on YouTube is good 10 to 30 minute Pilates classes and Pop Sugar have all sorts of classes for different abilities and time scale. I've also just discovered Joanna Soh who has a good range of different types of exercises.

Quarantino · 01/04/2020 14:19

I do popsugar on YouTube. There are loads!

AuntieMarys · 01/04/2020 14:20

7 M Women is great

DonnaDarko · 01/04/2020 14:37

Mr & Mrs Muscle are really good, the workouts are only 15 minutes long and they always provide modifications. They have a low impact series too :)

severalboxes · 02/04/2020 07:49

Thanks! Lots to sweat about ;)

Joe Wicks also does "seniors" session on his you tube channel - about my limit!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/04/2020 08:01

Emi Wong does a hiit style workout (exercise eg 45 seconds, 15 seconds rest) and does several specifically with no jumping and no additional equipment.

Just tried the Mr & Mrs Muscle one, its really good!
If your just getting into fitness or want something low impact Leslie Sansone Walk at Home series is suprisingly effective.

Chrestomanci3 · 12/04/2020 06:59

Jessica Smith TV on You Tube has loads of different routines, lasting from about 12 minutes to 45. Her walking workouts are low-impact for knees and hips, and there's a good range - dance-style, cardio, strength, stretch.

WaterIsWide · 12/04/2020 07:11

Jackie Tally does good seated exercise. Look her up on YouTube. If you do a selection of her exercise videos it will add up to 20 minutes.

Jenny McLendon on You Tube does very good low impact standing exercises.

Look up HasFit.com on You Tube a good selection of exercises. He's a good trainer and there's someone at his side doing the low impact version.

Sorry, I just can't take to Joe Wicks.

Ragwort · 12/04/2020 07:14

I enjoy Lucy Wyndham-Read workouts, lots of different ones and many are just seven minutes so you can do 2 or 3 together and not get bored.

Ragwort · 12/04/2020 08:40

Thanks for the recommendation Water I’ve just followed a 20 minute Jenny McLendon workout which was good and about my level (also read up on her fascinating life Grin).

Ragwort · 19/04/2020 13:47

Anyone still reading this thread ? Grin

I’ve found another good low impact workout on YouTube called ‘Up to the Beat’, walking & exercise to music, good fun.

sleepwhenidie · 19/04/2020 13:49

SweatyBetty has a good selection of free workouts, not all 20 mins though.

Ragwort · 19/04/2020 13:56

Thanks sleep will have a look.
