Ive run on and off for a few years, but have recently decided i want to enter a 10k this year.
Ive got a pair of New Balance trainers, but they are wearing on the heel, so im having to wear a couple of plasters to get through a run.
Ive been into a running shop today and bought a pair of Brooks trainers, but im nit overally keen on them.
What are you all wearing?

runrepeat.com might help you too, OP.

For road, I love Brooks currently in Adrenaline GTS 19.

flitwit99 · 22/02/2019 22:53

Umizuni wavefor me. I bought a pair of Hokas recently but really didn’t get on with them, even though they felt fine in the shop. So they are now at the back of the wardrobe waiting for me to decide if I can be bothered trying to eBay them and get some money back.

flitwit99 · 22/02/2019 22:55

Umizuni

Mizuno. Have I spelled that right? No idea.

Tarrarra · 22/02/2019 23:01

Saucony for me, they just suit my flat pronating feet!!

diymania · 22/02/2019 23:01

Brooks Adrenaline for me too. V comfy

Thatsnotmyotter · 22/02/2019 23:02

Adidas Superboost for road running for me. I have Hokas as trail shoes.

Husband swears by Nike Free and Inov8. We are opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to running shoes!

fruitpastille · 22/02/2019 23:08

Also Brooks adrenaline as recommended by two different running shops. They are quite bright but I treated myself to a t-shirt the same colour from sports direct. My Fitbit matches too so it's all good Grin

Aginplease · 22/02/2019 23:08

Thanks everyone, i have loads to go on 😀

I've had several pairs of Brooks adrenaline but recently changed to Nike epic react and I love them! Very comfortable and lots of cushioning, feel much more 'bouncy' than my brooks which feel clumpy now

Aginplease · 23/02/2019 10:35

These are what i have got, i know running is a fashion thing, but what is it i dont like about them?

I only bought asics for a few years but now have a pair of Brooks launch 5. They are really light and probably comfier than the asics

LoveVelo · 23/02/2019 11:25

I have had Brooks before and found them find for an everyday runs but preferred Asics for longer runs. Only issue I have found with Asics is the mesh tends to tear after a while. I had to stop running after developing PF, but was able to return a couple of years ago and second the votes upthread for Adidas boost (I've got a pair of pure boost and a pair of ultra boost). They have been brilliant as really supportive of arches, also PF has not returned.

TowandaForever · 23/02/2019 12:14

Not hair checked !!!! It autocorrect from gait.

avocadochocolate · 23/02/2019 12:17

All modern trainers are good. Just go to shop staffed by people who run and get them to analyse your gait and help you choose a pair that is right for you.

Aginplease · 23/02/2019 13:03

TowandaForever i knew what you meant, dont worry.

I think its the very stand out bright colour thats putting me off from getting out there and seeing what they really feel like! Silly i know, im used to my plain blend into the crowd New Balance!

Anything goes with running stuff and general active wear OP, the more garish the better sometimes. No one will care what your trainers look like!!!

TriSkiRun99 · 23/02/2019 14:12

Go run through a few muddy puddles and they won’t seem so bright Grin mine were brighter colour than I’d anticipated as I bought online but after a few winter runs they had dulled and I didn’t notice them

OddBodsAndGladRags · 23/02/2019 14:25

I was a but disappointed on my gait tests that I didn't suit the running shoes I liked. But my Brooks are so comfy I've learnt the lesson of not judging a running shoe by its cover.

SeeYouLaterUserData · 23/02/2019 15:04

I hear you about not liking bright running shoes OP. These are my Brooks GTS 19s

SeeYouLaterUserData · 23/02/2019 15:06

And they are also available in dull colours

Thanks everyone, just feeling abit rubbish and stressed over a few things at the moment, so my mind always goes into overdrive over silly things!
Im sure they will dull over time and as they were in the sale, they were a bargain price too, so cant really complain.
Just been out for a run in my old ones and my feet really hurt, so i just need to take thr plunge!

I wear Asics Gel Kayano, really cushioned. DH wears the same and they're brilliant for his dodgy knee. All chosen after gait analysis (for the PP who asked, find a proper running shop to get gait tested, and they'll often have a money back guarantee too, off the top of my head, Sweatshop? My local ones are independent, so would be irrelevant!).

I buy the ones that are cheap (always buy from outlet shop), with no care on their colour. Actually the ones I hated the most when buying, tend to be the ones I quite like wearing and looking at! I pretty much always have really garish colours, they're only on my feet to help me run or whatever.

littlemeitslyn · 23/02/2019 19:46

Running !!!! 😁😀😂🤣
