Thanks for the advice. I got new shoes and broke them in slowly so think the shin splints is caused by not stretching enough at all Blush

I will try going slower, although feel if I go any slower i'll be walking!! I've really tried to focus on jogging, rather than running as in the past (when I WAS fit) I couldn't jog at all, only run at a fair pace, but never long distance! How times have changed.... So next time you're on a run and lap a speed walker, that will probably be me!!! Grin

16 minutes today. Will strive for 17 mins maybe next week. Let my body adjust to the extra minute. My heart felt like it was going to pop out my chest and my legs were on fire but i feel kinda proud of myself.

I also give a mental salute to any joggers I see when passing in the car, why I don't no. Anyone else do this

My names a bit of a giveaway Xmas Blush

The most I’ve ran without stopping is 15 miles, about 2 hours 20. This was during a marathon though and I’ve not beaten it yet.

Seeing as running for half a mile used to be impossible I’m very happy with it Smile

Keep going OP! It does get easier, I’ve always stuck with working on time first then speed second

about 90 mins is the longest I can run for comfortably. That is outside. I can only really do 10 on a treadmill as its just sooooo boring.

I did however run for 2 hours 20 mins last year, but by mile 10 everything hurt and by 12.5 miles I wanted to sit and rock, but as I running a half marathon I decided to push myself the last 0.5 miles. That wasn't fun.

Im running my first marathon next year so I need to up that.

Who's Janet?

Iwannasnack · 07/12/2017 21:33

Ran 10 miles in 1hr 52 in October. That’s the longest I’ve ever run. Doing London marathon in April though so it’s going to have to increase. In February when I started c25k I could only just manage 1 minute. Agree with the pp who said the 1st 10-15 mins are the worst. Once you get past that it all starts getting easier.

PinkBuffalo · 07/12/2017 21:35

norug you're matching me on time there.

Madbee · 09/12/2017 21:02

Depends how fast... I have run up to 4.5 hours (first marathon), but rarely much over 3 hours more recently- faster though, which makes all the difference!
