Panic moment, we were running out of room on old thread so started a new one for today's run reports Smile

OP posts:

Gutted standing - I ran there a few weeks back, was a lovely one lap course.

Teacupinastorm · 05/09/2017 18:55

Oh no standing! My usual run was cancelled so visited the in laws and did Northampton. had been keen to do it again anyway as haven't ran it in a good few weeks and wanted to see what I could do it in now (I'm always faster in Northampton!) Best parkrun time to date by over a minute and a half so I was chuffed!

MyBlackCat · 09/09/2017 14:51

I ran my home parkrun today, tried to go for a quick time but blew up on the second lap, still ok though but felt like a huge effort Sad

Hope others had better runs today.

Bit of a drive for me, but it was the nearest letter N at Navan

2 to go to complete the project - anyone at AllyPally next week?

TriJo · 12/09/2017 11:35

Was at Ally Pally last week. Seemed like a lovely group there but the course is seriously not buggy friendly, particularly after heavy rain the day before. 40 minutes is a lifetime PW for 5k.

Teacupinastorm · 12/09/2017 14:59

Home run for me this week. Really enjoyed it and got a PB. No running at parkrun for me for a couple of weeks now as I have to work this weekend, then next week I'm volunteering. Am training for my first 10k at the minute so need to make sure I fit in runs elsewhere!

Eatssleepriderepeat · 16/09/2017 12:36

Can I join? I did my first ever parkrun today, as well as my first ever 5k. Haven't ever done more than about 2.5k before, and that was at least 3.5 years ago...
Took DD (6) with me for moral support, and with a couple of stops for stones in shoes we did it in 38.03. I'm fairly pleased with the time, and we managed to run the whole thing ( albeit slowly!).
Legs sore now, but looking forwards to next week Grin

TriJo · 16/09/2017 12:52

Better run this week, Grovelands this time and ran just over 33 minutes with DS in the buggy. #46 in the bag so just the 4 left to 50 :)

MyBlackCat · 16/09/2017 16:38

Well done eatsleepriderepeat

I touristed at a very hilly parkrun today - photo says it all

Hi, I did my first park run yesterday. Was pleased to get just under 32. I'm mid 40s and did just over 32 10 years ago so it gave me hope. More than my personal achievement I found the atmosphere and camaraderie really uplifting on a cold, damp September morning. What a fantastic bunch of people. Will definitely go again, really want to run it in 30 but happy just to get out and start my weekend with a boost like that.

MelanieCheeks · 17/09/2017 18:20

Ally Pally

Tough course, friendly bunch, great views!

Eatssleepriderepeat · 23/09/2017 10:06

Second one down! DD didn't fancy it today, so managed to go a bit quicker. Went out a bit fast though and needed to walk towards the end. Just waiting for email rime through now...

Teacupinastorm · 23/09/2017 11:41

I volunteered for the first time and loved it! Was great fun and so interesting to see what goes into making each run work. I ran there and back just to get some miles in. I have a 10k coming up and am starting to feel nervous!

MyBlackCat · 23/09/2017 19:13

Buggy PB for me today Smile

MelanieCheeks · 24/09/2017 17:31

Mischief managed!

HalleLouja · 25/09/2017 13:46

So I have been a good wife and let me DH run parkrun over the summer as he seems keen and I want him to get fit. Anyway did my 20th different parkrun (and its now my nearest) and offered to pace DH.

So all went well, he struggled as its hilly. On the first downhill I told him he could have picked the pace up a bit. So he listened to me a bit too carefully and I had to chase him downhill. Flipping makes me cross he is a natural runner and I need to work at it. Grin

Anyway 20 different parkruns complete and we were thinking of running one near his mum's we haven't run before.

HalleLouja · 25/09/2017 13:48

TriJo I have done Grovelands. I used to live round the corner from there when I was a kid. The XC they make us do there is less fun than the parkrun I seem to remember.

TriJo · 28/09/2017 21:21

We did Burgess Park last weekend, DH took the buggy for the first time and took it handy enough while I had as much of a go as bump would allow on a pancake flat course. 27:48 is by far my best time in months.

Most likely Barking or Dartford this weekend then driving to Dover straight away for the ferry to France :)

MelanieCheeks · 05/10/2017 23:07

Where are we all going for international parkrun day?

A whole load of uk parkrun tourists are flying in to do bushy Dublin ( having all done bushy London). There's a handful of us norn irn peeps joining them, bringing a bottle of bushmills whiskey. Cos when you've done a double Bushy you need a double Bush!

TriJo · 07/10/2017 08:04

Poole parkrun for us, we got the ferry in last night after a week in France. Have my Highbury Fields apricot top on :)

MyBlackCat · 07/10/2017 15:35

I tail walked today - wore my apricot t-shirt with my 100 t shirt on underneath!

Hope everyone enjoyed their runs Smile

MelanieCheeks · 07/10/2017 16:45

It was such a great feeling to see the swarm of apricot tops arriving in Dublin from all parts, and I'd met quite a few of them during my own jaunts. The Double Bushy went down in the spirit it was intended, though I'm expecting my " see me after class!" memo from PSH any minute Wink

TriJo · 14/10/2017 16:59

Did my 50th today at Highbury Fields :) Fairly good run if such a thing exists at just under 23 weeks - 31:30 ish with the buggy and only one short walk break on my fifth time up the hill.

MelanieCheeks · 21/10/2017 16:50

Castlewellan

Latest addition to the Norn Irn family, so having done it today I'm back at "regionnaire" status. That's 25 NI ones now, and this was my 44th different event!

MummyPenguin2 · 23/10/2017 20:28

Could I ask for some advice? I haven't run in about 2 years, but after 2nd DC I need to get back into it. I could certainly run 5km 2 years ago, but was planning to do C25K this time. However, I need others around to keep me motivated. Would I be mad to just turn up at a park run (with my barcode of course!) if I haven't run in 2 years? I would be pushing a running buggy as DC2 is EBF and a dedicated bottle-refuser
