New month, new phase of Body Rev for me...marking my place and getting us set up with a June thread.

OP posts:

Katharine Interesting that you found it easier. I can't wait to get on to it tomorrow.

I'm so ready for a different soundtrack to my workout. I'm constantly doing Jillian impressions and cuing in her lines. It's really boring now!

Madame I've just done a yoga workout that involves a full side plank on hands, I don't think I lasted 5 seconds and now my wrists hurt to type!

Weigh in and measuring day tomorrow but Auntie Flo is here and I had profiteroles for pudding yesterday so not expecting any change.

EthelCardew · 15/06/2015 07:52

30DS Day 10 results = 1 lb loss despite AF and 1" off the girls.

No other measurement changes but I can feel that my obliques are flatter.

  • 30DS and c.30mins yoga 5 days/week
  • 1 hour pure cardio/week
  • No change in eating.

Goal for the next 10 days is to add another cardio session per week and clean up my eating.

SaulGood · 15/06/2015 12:20

Ethel, sounds like you're doing brilliantly. Well done.

6 Week 6 Pack has the same problem as the Shred. You do 3 weeks of one level and 3 weeks of another and by about day 4 you can recite the whole thing. Did you know "you can always go further, you always have more to give, you just have to believe in your blah blah blah"? 6W6P has a full side plank on hands plus a knee twist while in position just to make it extra fun. It's actually my favourite move of the workout. It's my opportunity to use all the bad swears I know.

Just done day 15/42. Some heavy weights this afternoon and maybe a quick run if I feel like it.

Level 2 of the Shred is easier imo. I don't know if it's because you're fitter by that point or if it genuinely is an easier workout. It's a bit tough on the knees though. If you have any aches in your knees, it hunts them out.

KatharineClifton · 15/06/2015 12:24

Having a rest day. After over-doing it yesterday I have DOMS galore and a slightly aching right ankle. Starting a new job tomorrow where I'll be on my feet all day so resting the ankle today in the hopes it'll be back to good tomorrow.

TheBeagleHasLanded · 15/06/2015 17:42

6W6P done yesterday. I should have done NMTZ today but just couldn't muster up the enthusiasm. I decided I could either half-heartedly limp through NMTZ or do 30DS L1 and give it my all. I plumped for 30DS with heavier weights for most of the strength sections.

OublietteBravo · 15/06/2015 19:45

30DS L2D2. Took it a bit easier today as I've got a headache. I'm finding the oblique twists (circuit 2) and the squats with a 'V' raise (circuit 3) hard work.

EthelCardew · 15/06/2015 20:59

30DS L2D1 Not going to lie, I didn't enjoy it more than L1 but the moves are encouragingly challenging.

I find a couple of the moves particularly difficult because of an old rotator cuff injury and fuck me sideways, all those ruddy plank-based moves are a killer!

But now I know the drill, I'm going to enjoy putting in 100% and seeing progress each day is going to rock.

Hope the headache eases soon Oubliette.

UnalignedAnt · 15/06/2015 22:34

Oh arse, I must be doing this wrong - gained 1.5lbs. Angst. Despair.

Went to spin tonight instead of shred tonight in feeble protest Sad

UnalignedAnt · 15/06/2015 22:36

Tonight is the word of tonight, it would seem Confused

drspouse · 16/06/2015 14:09

Right, I've had a few days off owing to a cold, but am back. Shred this morning (L1 this week) and Pilates yesterday. Not yet bored of Shred but it won't be long...

OublietteBravo · 16/06/2015 20:07

30DS L2D3 - finally getting into the swing of level 2 Grin

blodynmawr · 16/06/2015 20:10

NMTZ today but have to admit I'm not feeling it anymore Blush so really need to sort out getting heavier weights....
Kickbox FF or BFBM tomorrow depending how I feel!
I take 1000mg of fish oil every day to help with creaky knees.

Blueskies80 · 16/06/2015 21:34

Still haven't started 30DS L2 yet as come down with a bad cold. Hopefully start tomorrow but may be Thursday before this starts to shift! Well done all xxx

EleanorAbernathy · 16/06/2015 23:05

Hi mind if I join in?
I've been shredding on and off for a few months now - but never managed a whole 30 days so being part of a thread might inspire me to keep it up!

In April I managed 8 days of level 1, then about 14 level 2s with a week off in between (I added extra to make up for the week off!)

Then I WATCHED level 3, with good intentions of actually doing it - then 2 weeks passed and one thing or another kept getting in the way.

Yesterday I decided it was about time I started working out again so I went for a 5k run, and have hurty legs today as a result - but I also got back on the Shred wagon!

I thought I'd go back to level 1 as I've had a couple of weeks off - but it actually felt really easy. So in a moment of madness I did level 2 after it. I managed it (had to drop to 1kg weights for the last lot of V raises though) but I have a feeling I may regret my double-Shred tomorrow, I shall report back!

I've also got 6W6P - I've only tried level 1 but I find it a really effective ab workout.

sycamore54321 · 17/06/2015 08:53

You should all be giving out to me - I fell badly off the Jillian wagon. I had a busy weekend, including my birthday (no comment on allegations that vast quantities of cake may have been consumed), then various things on Monday and Tuesday, so only back to it today. Level 2 day 9 done, sweating like crazy both from the break and from the bizarrely humid weather.

Well done to those who are sticking with it better than I, and welcome to the newbies - this thread is definitely a great accountability check. (For those struggling with plank moves on level 2, try doing them on your elbows rather than straight arms, it may help.)

MsRaspberryJam · 17/06/2015 15:49

I'm back! I hadn't done anything in a couple of weeks and I was starting to feel really miserable. Tired all the time, more easily upset about things etc. I've just finished level one of Killer Abs and am feeling a little bit less unhappy.

I'll be checking in again soon.

UnalignedAnt · 17/06/2015 17:12

L2D1 - planks, planks everywhere! Sweating lumps! Think I expunged L2 from memory as don't recall any of the moves.
Determined to keep going though - I will look ace in Portugal, dammit!

blodynmawr · 17/06/2015 17:25

Welcome back Mrs R.
Awful muggy conditions to work out in here in S Wales today so only managed 1 x 20 min (workout 2) of Kickbox FF as was too sweaty and uncomfortable to carry on any further Blush.
Well done to anyone who managed a long workout today!
Will try for a longer workout tomorrow if it is cooler!

OublietteBravo · 17/06/2015 18:54

I'm having a rest day today - I'm feeling a bit tired and achy.

drspouse · 17/06/2015 22:22

I did Yoga Meltdown L1 again and can't do my normal swim tomorrow but also have no time even for Shred (full day at work followed by bedtime, tea, book group) so will have to try and do another one over the weekend.

YM is actually getting easier, I think that must be the 6th or 7th time (but I've done a lot of yoga in the past) so maybe time to try L2.

SisterMoonshine · 18/06/2015 10:07

I'm hanging in there with it. I think I should go on to level 2 30DS today.

I don't think I'm losing weight but am feeling trimmer already. And something has changed in me, for the better. I guess it's metabolism. I feel better and more awake and ready throughout the day. I really want to maintain that. Now I've started doing some decent exercise and pushing myself I feel I can do more. Have taken DD on a couple of bike rides and swam some lanes while she was in her swimming lesson this week, instead of just sat on the side drinking cappucino.
Next, I need to eat less.

OublietteBravo · 18/06/2015 20:05

30DS L2D4. Still not loving this level. I hate the oblique twists with a passion. In fact I think I'm going to have to swap them for another cardio move before I wreck my knees.

EthelCardew · 18/06/2015 22:59

I've had my two rest days and a day of cardio today.

Would have liked to have done L2D2 as well today but I'm coming down with something and feel pretty rotten. Hopefully I'll feel like it tomorrow and then we're away for the weekend but I'm hoping I'll be able to fit it in early Sat morning before we leave and late Sun night when we're back.

UnalignedAnt · 19/06/2015 11:07

L2D2 done. Rest day yesterday, though walked for over two hours (dogsitting) so hope that counts for something.

Gone back to 1.5kg weights for L2 and can't imagine using anything heavier Confused

MsRaspberryJam · 19/06/2015 11:22

Thanks Blodynmawr!

I did level two of Kickbox Fastfix this morning. I had ever such a red face when I had finished. Not even foundation would hide it.

I'm feeling much more lively already though. Full of beans. Although I have piled on the tummy weight during my weeks off. Gah!
