New month, new phase of Body Rev for me...marking my place and getting us set up with a June thread.

SaulGood · 12/06/2015 10:30

Just googled and Jillian is 5ft 2.5". I'm 5ft 3" so pretty close. Grin

blodynmawr · 12/06/2015 16:21

Kickbox FF today - only the 1st workout though as not v motivated due to humid weather.
It's my 3rd or 4th do at this and it took me until now to realise that Natalie and Anita from 30DS are in the backing crowd! Both seem even more scarily fit and toned than they were whenever 30DS was filmed!

SaulGood · 12/06/2015 17:06

I've only ever watched the trailer for Kickbox FF. Do you recommend it? I spotted Anita but not Natalie. There seemed to be a very chipper, bouncy brunette near the front who rather drew the eye with all her posturing and I noticed a lot of whooping and hollering which made me want to break the laptop screen. Do they do that a lot?

TheBeagleHasLanded · 12/06/2015 18:27

NMTZ done.

Thanks for the advice on the side planks Saul, I'm doing 6W6P again on Sunday and I've got a long mirror so I'll bring it down and check my posture (whilst carefully avoiding looking at the grimace on my face in the reflection Grin).

Ooooh that second set of mountain climbers is b-r-u-t-a-l. Actually sprint-finish-workout is a positive way of looking at the exercises second time around. I'll think of that when I'm trying to keep up with Basheera. She's a proper bad ass.

TheBeagleHasLanded · 12/06/2015 18:32

Hahaha Saul just re-read your post above and had to tell you I've actually had to stop doing Killer Body because of the whooping, hollering and general inane expressions Jillian's little helpers keep making. Twats, very fit with lovely figures, but nonetheless twats.

30DS L1D10 - level 1 completedSmile

On to level 2 - hopefully tomorrow...

SaulGood · 12/06/2015 19:15

Good luck Oubliette. L2 is knee-tastic.

What is that whooping, hollering, gurning shit? Hey, high 5, we're awesome. Whooo!

Jillian Michaels admits that she hates working out. She says she hates every second of it but does it because it is the foundation for the rest of her life. I like that kind of gritty honesty. No bells, no whistles. It's fecking tough and it hurts but look what you can achieve. Not yee-haahing your way through it with a rictus grin.

sycamore54321 · 12/06/2015 20:35

Level 2 day 8 eked out this morning, then nullified by an evening of unhealthy eating. Dammit!

EthelCardew · 12/06/2015 21:21

L1D8. Nearly there!

UnalignedAnt Ha ha - NO! I am so weak up top, it's pathetic! I upped for the chest flies and that's all for now. Maybe tomorrow I'll do the first squat and press set. Maybe! It's annoying as I only have adjustable weights that are a bit of a faff to adjust, not the fancy dial-up ones, so I have to press pause to add more weight.

Well done Katharine!

Saul I love how Natalie cheats and then Jillian comments on them not cheating when she isn't looking!

KatharineClifton · 12/06/2015 21:21

30DS L1D9

ImogenQuy · 13/06/2015 08:42

Saul, I'm 5'2" so also really very close to Jillian's height. Shame I haven't got the rest of her body (particularly her arms. I have bad arm envy. My upper arms look like hams whatever I do, even though I'm not fat. I have very solid thighs too, but I put that down to cycling and in any case it's less of an issue as I never want to get my legs out).

Natalie and Anita are both in Body Revolution too. And Bashira / Basheera is in Yoga Meltdown.

TheBeagle, I was thinking of getting Killer Body, but may think again if it's really annoying! I'm with Saul - I like Jillian because she admits exercise is just a means to an end, not a joy in itself.

Shred it with Weights Level 1 done.

Does anyone else just stare at Jillian's midriff in her oh-so-low leggings?

KatharineClifton · 13/06/2015 22:47

Thank you Ethel

After spending most of the day avoiding Shred and watching most of Biggest Loser S15, I finally got down to it - 30DS L1D10. I don't know why I put it off so much as actually quite enjoy doing it when I get off the mark, and LOVE the end of it.

Blueskies80 · 14/06/2015 08:49

30DS L1 day 10 done yesterday.
L2 starts hopefully tonight but possibly tomorrow due to BBQ later Grin
Am enjoying it. The intensity is good when you've no time to exercise and doing it at home works too.
Yay for finding out about it!

OublietteBravo · 14/06/2015 09:48

Just done 30DS L2D1 (after an unintentional rest day yesterday). Oh. My. God. I'm dripping with sweat. L2 is definitely harder than L1.

blodynmawr · 14/06/2015 13:42

Saul I love BFBM so naturally gravitated to Kickboxing Fastfix when I recently got the 5- disk DVD set. I also like that there are 3 x 20 min workouts so can vary beteween just 20min on a less motivated week day to 60 min on a weekend when I have more time.
I mainly do 3-4 days of cardio/ kickboxing and 1-2 days of NMTZ every week. Will try the Yoga meltdown and maybe 1-week Shred as well now as they are part of the 5-disk set.
The fact that Jillian freely admits she does not naturally like working out is part of why I think I like her and have stuck with her workouts. Smile

SaulGood · 14/06/2015 14:17

I've ordered the 5 disc box set. I'm finishing 6W6P before I start any new ones. I'm going to do the One Week Shred first and then the Kickboxing one . I love kickboxing workouts. I just can't cope with the screeching. I prefer it once I know the workouts and can turn them down and listen to the radio instead.

I've done 6W6P day 14 today. That's a third of the way through. I've also been for a long run. I've lost 1.5 inches from my waist in a fortnight. Aim is to not lose anymore. I'm adding in weights on top of the workout now so that I can build muscle.

KatharineClifton · 14/06/2015 14:19

I've been looking at the ultimate box set too - is Amazon @ £25.95 the cheapest for it atm?

blodynmawr · 14/06/2015 14:38

Katharine Yes, got mine off Amazon recently.
Saul Agree the screeching is annoying but I'm still learning the moves on KBFF so concentrating too much on what I'm doing to be bothered that much at the moment Blush! Also can't see the point of such a crowd of groupies in the more recent DVDs - prefer Shred, NMTZ etc where there are just 2 others showing beginner and advanced moves.

UnalignedAnt · 14/06/2015 15:15

L1D9 done. Had a bad week food-wise but hey-ho - still shredding so that's the main thing! Last day of L1 tomorrow. Bring it!

SaulGood · 14/06/2015 15:27

It's too busy with all those people. You only need a couple. It's simple and effective. Camera can show the basic and advanced moves and it feels more like a personal training session. The group/party atmosphere offends my introvert sensibilities. I went to Zumba with MIL a couple of times because she needed a buddy. It was HELL. All those elbows and the noise of it all. V suffocating.

giftsbag.co.uk has the box set for around £1 cheaper than Amazon but I've never used it (I just googled!). I got mine from Amazon.

KatharineClifton · 14/06/2015 18:51

30DS L2D1 :) It absolutely whizzed by!

EthelCardew · 14/06/2015 19:22

I'm shattered after a hectic weekend, a late night and a little bit of a hangover but I'm getting ready for L1D10 and I'm ready to say ta-ra to Level 1!

I'm looking forward to starting L2 tomorrow but not looking forward to being really sore again, which I'm fully expecting after the first day! I'm due a rest day anyway so will take that on Tuesday to recover.

How did you find L2D1 Katharine?

KatharineClifton · 14/06/2015 19:53

I found it easier than L1 Ethel - couldn't keep up with the cardio on L1. And because I found it easier I thought I'd have a go at Trainer Bob's beginner vid on youtube. OMG! I think I'll never be able to use my arms again!

MadameJulienBaptiste · 14/06/2015 20:02

After seeing shred threads on here for ages I had a look on amazon.
I'm relatively fit for an over 50 but mainly from swimming and yoga, nothing that gets me sweaty! and was worried the shred would be too hard and put me off.

I got the beginner shred, shred, and yoga meltdown in one order.

Started the beg shred 17 days ago - after 2 days level 1 I moved to level 2 for 5 days and just done day 7 of level 3. The only bit I can't quite manage is the full side plank - only 5 secs on my right elbow and not at all on my left!

Have been eating much less junk and lost 2lbs. Have to say it's not made a massive difference to my middle age tummy but overall my clothes look and feel better.

Looking forward to graduating to the 30ds!
