New month, new phase of Body Rev for me...marking my place and getting us set up with a June thread.

Roseybee10 · 06/06/2015 22:13

I like that idea Harry. I cannot do the jump rope. I end up just skipping.

EthelCardew · 06/06/2015 22:43

L1D4 done and I didn't feel sore today either, which is a massive plus!

I'm 100% ok with the cardio portions, they come as a welcome relief from the strength moves. I have such little upper body strength, push ups and lateral raises kill me!

ChubbyDancer · 07/06/2015 09:23

Morning everyone, I've just started 30DS for the first time ever (it's been in its wrapper for the last 3 months!) and I'm on day 4. I hope you don't mind me joining in. I just wondered is it normal to have such sore legs? Thet are so so stiff, especially my calves...am I doing something wrong? Will it go away eventually? Thanks!

OublietteBravo · 07/06/2015 10:31

I have sore legs too ChubbyDancer - and mine were especially bad after D4. So I think it is normal - I always try and do a bit more stretching in my cool down, which seems to help. (Have a look here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=X07BTufWnUk).

blodynmawr · 07/06/2015 11:00

Did workouts 1 and 2 of Kickbox Fastfix today. Great alternative to BFBM so will be part of my routine. KF is part of a 5 disk set I have recently invested in so will report back if there are any other good workouts in there I like Smile.
Welcome to all newbies!

ChubbyDancer · 07/06/2015 12:36

OublietteBravo Thanks for the link, I've tried doing a few more stretches today to see if it helps.
blody Thanks! I'm such a quitter usually but I'm determined to keep going with this. I like it being only 20 minutes, it doesn't feel like it takes too much of my day up like other things I've done in the past.

KatharineClifton · 07/06/2015 16:27

30DS L1D4 Bizarrely today was easier than yesterday. Very almost didn't do it as well!

OublietteBravo · 07/06/2015 19:42

Just done L1D6. I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. I started 30DS on 1 June, and so far I've managed to do it on 6 out of 7 days Smile

sycamore54321 · 07/06/2015 19:53

Great to see so many new names! ChubbyDancer, if your calf muscles hurt a lot, check your form on the jumping moves, especially skipping rope. Jillian doesn't mention it but you should land softly and come right down on to your heels. Don't just bounce up from tippy-toes. This helped me a lot with the same problem.

I have a confession - for some reason I cheated on Jillian today and did 40 minute cardio-power from Insanity with my husband instea. It was the first time I tried Insanity but I didn't enjoy it much. It was all a bit frantic and confusing with the dozens of people in the video and while a very tough workout, it didn't convert me. Do any of you do Insanity, how does it compare generally to Kill Jill? Back to Jill tomorrow, and I'll just hope she doesn't find out about my dalliance with Sean T!

ChubbyDancer · 07/06/2015 20:28

Haha sycamore I'm sure Jill would forgive you (maybe she'd make you star jump for 10 minutes to make up!) Thanks for the tip. I think the extra stretching might have helped a bit, either that or I'm slightly more used to it now. Either way I'll definitely try and bear that in mind tomorrow. Oubliette 6 out of 7 days is really good! Tomorrow is my early day at work so it's going to be harder to get it done in the morning, I'm going to try and get up super early but we'll see!

EthelCardew · 07/06/2015 21:02

Took a bit of convincing but L1D5 done and I'm so pleased I did it because it was so much easier, even the push ups! The whole workout seemed to just fly by.

There's nothing like progress to stoke up your motivation!

I'm following the Shred with Yoga with Adriene's 30 days of yoga programme on YouTube, which is just lovely after all that the hard work And I'm finding it really helps ease the muscle soreness too. It's so much easier to get on and work out when you're not in pain!

Now to work on cleaning up my eating. Blush

Roseybee10 · 07/06/2015 22:59

I watched hip hop abs and found it all over the place too. Not loving Sean T as a trainer. There's something about Jillian that motivates me though.

I've had a terrible day food wise at my dad's 60th and now have a chest infection so think I may need to take tomorrow off workouts too just til I get back on my feet. Feeling so run down.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 07/06/2015 23:34

Have had a terrible bug (won't go into details Envy

ImogenQuy · 08/06/2015 06:56

Wow, loads of activity on the thread this weekend! Welcome, all. Peonies, hope you're feeling fully recovered now.

Roseybee, I haven't found another trainer who I like - the thing about Jillian is that she acknowledges that exercise is miserable and you wouldn't do it without an ulterior motive. An awful lot of other workout DVDs assume you're doing squat thrusts in your living room for the fun of it. (Having said that, I've bought Davina's Fit in Fifteen because I've seen it recommended on here a lot. But I haven't even opened the cellophane yet.)

Body Rev phase 3 week 10 workout 9 done. Noticeably easier than the first time round, though those chair squats with a V-raise are still evil. Oddly the push-up jacks, which I thought last week were the absolute pits, weren't too bad today.

OP posts:
Roseybee10 · 08/06/2015 08:32

Oh those chair squats with v raises completely kill!!!!!!
I hate them but they must be good.

I now have laryngitis so I'm gonna be out of action for a few days :-( my mums coming to take my girls for the afternoon to let me sleep it off.

Roseybee10 · 08/06/2015 08:32

Peonies hope you're feeling better soon xx

KatharineClifton · 08/06/2015 12:38

30DS L1D5

TheBeagleHasLanded · 08/06/2015 17:40

NMTZ. Somehow over the weekend I've managed to hurt my wrist so I had to miss out a couple of plank moves. Hope it gets better soon as I feel like a skiver if I don't do all the moves.

OublietteBravo · 08/06/2015 19:51

39DS L1D7. Had to use my lightest weights today as I've somehow injured my finger (the knuckle of my middle finger on my right hand is swollen and painful).

UnalignedAnt · 08/06/2015 21:57

L1 Day5 done yesterday - went to spin class tonight so skipped today's shred.

Bought some 2.5kg weights in sale earlier - looking forward to putting them to good use tomorrow. Shred on, shredders!

ImogenQuy · 09/06/2015 07:12

Body Rev phase 3 week 10 workout 10 done. Not a good day - got up ten minutes later than I should have done and felt rushed and scrambled. Cardio tomorrow, ugh.

Roseybee, laryngitis is miserable - hope you feel better soon.

My eating has gone completely to pot because of work crisis. The low point was last week: I got home (late) one evening and DH asked if I'd eaten, so I thought about it and realised the answer was yes, half a bag of Haribo.

sycamore54321 · 09/06/2015 09:38

I had an unexpected rest day yesterday with an unscheduled appointment so back on the Jill wagon today. Just did level 2, day 5 or 6 I think. Despite a blessed full night sleep and the rest yesterday, I felt massively lethargic and barely made it through even in a half-hearted way. Hopefully tomorrow will feel stronger and better.

Onwards and upwards, Shredders!

Balonder · 09/06/2015 12:45

I did Level 1 d 6 this morning. Feeling it in my legs today. I usually do it in the evening so get to sit down after. I think the morning is a better idea though as there is less opportunity to find an excuse not to do it.

KatharineClifton · 09/06/2015 13:13
