Cinners 2k I believe.

chutneypig · 09/06/2015 20:57

That's right, they're 2k. It exhausts me just watching them, our first finisher is usually in around 7.30. He's a hero in the DC's eyes!

steppemum · 09/06/2015 22:50

yes it was 2 k, and the first finisher I am sure crossed the line while dd the last one was hardly over the start line.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/06/2015 21:24

Anyone up for Wimpole on 4th July?

I really want to take ds2 to a junior parkrun but not sure dh will go for parkrun both days of the weekend Sad

chutneypig · 10/06/2015 21:31

I was eying up Wimpole for thisSunday as we were thinking we might be down that way, but turns out we will be miles away. It looked very tempting. Maybe if DS2 is very keen Dh will relent Smile. My two can nag for their country and DH has ended up at the park both days a few times recently.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 10/06/2015 23:28

I am Wimpoling that day cinnamon, might try to drag at least one of the boys with me Smile

Can I join you all? First started parkrunning Jan 14 but only ran 5 before a bad knee injury (fell over skiing), I'm now back running and have a new local course, I love my Saturday morning Parkrun fix, especially if I get a good time. I'm almost back to my pre injury time too so hopeful in the next few weeks that I can dip under 26mins.

Blatherskite · 12/06/2015 16:33

I made up for no parkrunning last week by being at the junior parkrun test event on the Sunday. It was so much fun. Cannot wait for it to start properly in a couple of weeks!

Back to normal this week. I'm off to Hemel Hempstead Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 12/06/2015 18:15

I'm planning some tourism but not as far as you blatherskite! I figured there's quite a few an hour or so away that I should make the effort to visit. Cambridge, Norwich, Kings Lynn, Wimpole, sheringham and gorleston and possibly even fritton. I've only done my home, Thetford, bury at Edmunds, mulbarton and redcar.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/06/2015 18:16

And welcome MyBlackCat Grin

chutneypig · 12/06/2015 18:52

That's not 'only' in my book cinnamon. I guess it's all relative Grin. Ive looked at a few for when we're on holiday. Definitely Poole.

How does the test event work blathers?

Hello MyBlackCat, hope it all continues to progress.

I'm hoping the rain holds off for tomorrow. I don't mind a bit but I draw the line at thunderstorms!

Blatherskite · 12/06/2015 20:19

Before a new parkrun starts, there is usually a tiny test event held where a few people turn up and help the new core team go through the motions of the event. So we set up, people run then we time them all and process the results. It tends to show up any issues with marshalling or queuing or training that have been missed. I've been a runner for a couple of parkrun tests events but that was the first time I've been core team for one.

ThursdayLast · 12/06/2015 20:25

I hate when this falls off my threads I'm on, I miss loads of good stuff!

Did I see kimmi lurking?

Hello MyBlackCat Smile and steppe.

It is torrential here today -going to be a slippery be tomorrow methinks. Number 49 for me squeee

standingonlego · 12/06/2015 20:44

Long time no see :) I have missed lots too....going to catch up on this and running thread :)

feetheart · 12/06/2015 23:50

Blathers - thought the green ones were descending on Tring tomorrow to take on the cows :)

Our test run showed up a rather vital marshalling point that we had omitted, resulting in runners going 3 different ways Shock After a bit of a panic we shoved a marshal there and all was well on the second lap :)

If all goes well before 9am tomorrow I may actually run ours for the first time. Not counting on it yet as we have the sports group from a local baptist church doing a takeover, most of whom haven't volunteered with us before although lots of them have run, and a slightly unsure RD making his debut (he will be brilliant he just doesn't think he will - Ohone and Halle you may know him :)) I do have a more confident RD as support/back-up so unless disaster strikes I should be OK - will be a good incentive to get round in a decent time :)

MyBlackCat · 13/06/2015 08:10

It's pouring with rain - I think this is my 13th Parkrun so I was bound to get a wet one sooner or later, my PB optimism is diminishing Confused

chutneypig · 13/06/2015 10:37

It was wet here too. If I'm lucky I'll have beaten my personal worst Grin but was worth it to see DD happy to finish her first parkrun.

ThursdayLast · 13/06/2015 10:45

The rain held off here, in fact it's looking like it's going to brighten up down here today Smile

Well bugger me I've list my Garmin. Of course I only realised after I'd over slept and needed to get out of the house sharpish Confused

I ran with a parkrun friend, the timekeeper told me I came in around 30.10 but I didn't push myself to be honest. Some days it's just nice to get around.

Everyone else ok?

HalleLouja · 13/06/2015 10:46

Feet did you manage to run? I hope W had a great time RD-ing. Am thinking he might have done well. Fingers and toes crossed.

Did well today not a PB but not a million miles away. Would have been a PB at the start of the year if that makes any sense.

Anyways next week my running club are off to Panshanger.

HalleLouja · 13/06/2015 10:47

Hello Lego was wondering where you had been the other day.

MyBlackCat · 13/06/2015 11:01

I should have been optimistic as knocked 21 secs off my PB but feeling a little bit gutted to miss out on the sub 26 that I really really want 26:02 for me, worth getting out in the rain for Grin

MyBlackCat · 13/06/2015 11:03

Hello thursday Grin

cheapandcheerful · 13/06/2015 11:08

Well I'm quite impressed with myself this morning for dragging to myself to my 3rd parkrun, despite A Night Of Vomit courtesy of the dc.

I'm not convinced that my time will be all that, but I did rank higher than previously (294th rather than 307th)
And as an added bonus, dh sorted all the vom laundry while I was out Grin

cheapandcheerful · 13/06/2015 11:10

Argh! just got my time and I was 1sec slower than last week. That's so annoying - if only I had started a couple of paces nearer the front...

ThursdayLast · 13/06/2015 11:30

I'm so happy I found my Garmin!
I felt naked without it Grin
