Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

Yes spooky well done on lower focus, I have just done it for first time in weeks and the lunge sequence is burntastic!

6 days done for me this week so rest tomorrow!

Boobz I got a cheap fat measuring scale from amazon and it just doesn't work, so why not go for the one you want if you can afford it (which one is it btw?)

Did cardio today - there was 4 of us doing it together as me and DH were doing it and the DC did it all as well. All the way through, DS2 kept saying 'oh this is hard but I am not giving up' Grin

I can definitely tell the difference. I have no scales and I didn't measure myself so I am going on sight and clothes. My hips have definitely gone down and I just shook my tush at DH and noticed it didn't jiggle as much Wink

Really am loving this - even when you are not in the mood, you can motivate yourself knowing it is only 25 minutes. I am hooked!

As I thought, my local pharmacy didn't have a measuring tape. When I asked where I could buy one, she said "the China shop - they sell everything in the China shop". No idea where/what she meant.

Am going to work extra hard and do a Max workout plus a ab workout tomorrow, to make up for failure today and because we will be in the car for 7 hours on Saturday driving up to the mountains! Ah, now I realise why you thought I was on holiday Fullsteam - we ARE going on holiday but from our base in Rome.

I'm feeling a bit blah today. Had my rest day yesterday because I was shattered after being up a lot with the baby. Ended up making it worse by having a cake and biscuit too as a pick me up as I felt tired. I guess one day isn't the end of the world but I was cross with myself. Did upper focus this am and wasn't feeling it. Got through to the end but I couldn't say I nailed it!

purple some days are like that - I have daddy's when I go out for a run and every so feels like I am running in treacle!

Just did TBC followed by abs interval. Still not nailed TBC but definitely getting closer - even did some burpees today. Yay Grin

Yay, have reached target weight after two days of being super good! Of course I fully expect to go back up again after indulging at the weekend but I always take two step forwards and one step back and it has taken me six months to get here! No time for T25 today, will have to catch up at the weekend. Still haven't dared take my fat measurements yet!

Living in Rome is of course lovely, but days like today I just hanker for some proper London living. I got supermarket RAGE due to Italian ineffectualness (is that even a word?!) and almost stormed out of the shop leaving 4 bags of unpaid for shopping in the bagging area! Decided this would definitely have been a cutting nose off to spite face moment, and went back sheepishly.

Today is the last day of recovery week. I have two questions:

  1. What's best? Do a second round of Insanity once I have completed the 63 days or should I change over to T25? I am really enjoying Insanity and would like to continue something like that on a regular basis. T25 is attractive because of the limited time but I like the toughness of Insanity. I have not tried T25 by the way. Is the advantage of T25 the time only or are there any other benefits over Insanity?
  1. I get ridiculous eating urges in the two weeks leading up to my period. My appetite is in overdrive and I am constantly eating. Any tips on how to deal with this surge in appetite. It is almost uncontrollable.

I have no idea re T25 - I have been doing Insanity for about 197 days now! But would be interested to hear what others think...

I went to a kid's birthday party and ate pizza and chocolate cake again. Ugh.

I think insanity is harder than t25 so it might not be worth doing it newrule. What about insanity Max30? That's supposed to be harder than t25 and would give you a change.
My only suggestion re food cravings is to remove all unhealthy food from the house. I had gestational diabetes so couldn't eat any sugar so I got rid of everything I couldn't eat and if DH wanted anything sugary he had to buy it himself and eat it without telling me.

Newrule - I am the same in the lead up to my period! I try and get more protein down but I also have an insatiable appetite! I eat lots of bananas to try and stave off filling my face with biscuits.

Finally did my fat measurements and I am between 29-30% which is what my scales say. Managed to squeeze alpha abs in yesterday after all, rest day today, double whammy tomorrow. Happy weekend everyone Smile

I def eat more leading up to period too, in fact i am pretty sure I read somewhere that women in general eat 500 cals more at that time but it doesn't cause weight gain as metabolism is faster leading up to period. On T25 you have to double up and do two workouts back to back, once a week. Meant to be on a Friday but I was stuck for time so I am doing it tomorrow. Just has Chinese and salted caramel cheesecake so I will def have to do it Smile

I'm still here, just! Have completed first week of t25 and now into the second - did alpha cardio this morning and it may have been a teeny bit easier but my lungs still hurt, and those half tuck jumps nearly killed me! Ate some BBQ beef hula hoops and a packet of starburst yesterday which I'm afraid rather cancelled out the Nutriblast and granola breakfast! Blush they were nice though Grin

boobz Shock at 197 days of Insanity! Do you really feel too muscly? My concern with T25 so far is that it is a lot of fat burning and not so much strength, and I miss Jillian for all the weights and strength work. I am slim anyway and I would like to build muscle in my arms but I am put off the time involved in Insanity. Maybe I will just have to lift some weights in the evening or something. Other T25-ers - does it build up to more strength work later on? I only borrowed it off a friend so I didn't really do any proper research! Confused

I think beta uses weights you could skip on and try the modifier versions of those?

TBC today -barely made it, think I need to do it after brekkie as soooo hard!

Caitlin - beta does use weights for 2 of the 5 DVDs. I was amazed tho at how much muscle I've built up just from alpha tho
Sarah- good effort re doing the doubles. I don't think I could physically do it
My 20mo was dancing round the living room today trying to copy the moves I showed her from speed 2.0. I got tired before she did!

Hi there. New to the thread. Finished my third week of insanity yesterday. Have noticed changes in muscle tone, haven't lost weight but can feel the change in the fit of my jeans. Would quite happily smack the smug grin off Tanias face though
