Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

yumyumpoppycat · 09/01/2015 16:16

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

Failed. Ate cake, pizzetta, smarties and other shite. Hate children's birthday parties!

Well done for squeezing it in Yum!

Jacksterbear · 07/03/2015 22:08

Boobz I can never resist children's party food either. Blush My worst food downfall though, which I've done again today, is pre-dinner nibbles - crisps, nuts etc - when at other people's houses and they put them out before dinner and you are hungry and scoff them all! Blush Angry

spookyskeleton · 07/03/2015 22:11

Please don't scare me about beta workouts. Am trying not to think about them till Monday Grin

Anyway, talking about things I am trying to not think about, I am going for a 10 mile run tomorrow. Have only run that distance once (5 months ago) and I am not a strong runner at all so am very scared. Help!!

Jacksterbear · 07/03/2015 22:29

spooky if it makes you feel better none of the beta workouts is anywhere near as bad as TBC (IMO, anyway)! Good luck with the run tmrw.Flowers

Whitershadeofpale · 07/03/2015 23:00

Hi everyone Smile

I began insanity max 30 today. I started T25 last year but injured my knees and then totally got out of the habit and began working longer hours.

I've decided no more excuses! I need to work hard, I've got about 2st to lose (previously lost 3 1/2 stone). I find I push myself more the harder it is and get bored with longer less intense workouts and don't give it as much intensity.

The cardio was today was good. I mainly stuck with the modifier as am giving myself a few days to get used to it and the impact on my knees. Maxed out at 7.42 which isn't great but better than I feared. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Fullsteamahead · 07/03/2015 23:06

Evening my fellow fit mates!!!

Hello to you from a girl who seriously fell off the wagon yesterday and ate far too much and drunk way too much wine at the wedding!

Feel like I've been run over by a bus today but am really looking forward to my workout tomorrow :)

Spooky, I have to agree with comment above, nothing in Beta is near as bad as TBC in alpha! Good luck with the run.

Welcome to the new people joining the thread, it's great to have so much support and inspiration!

Boobz, you are doing great with not smoking, really hope your asthma improves quickly, take care of yourself.

I've just sat and spent an hour trying to get my head round the Zone diet. I'm getting the basics but am struggling to understand how to measure products that contain a mixture of carbs and fat or mixture of carbs and protein??? Also, any good links to meal planning, recipes, etc?

My weight seems to have stagnated at 59 kg, I've been trying really hard to up my protein intake and watch what I eat generally but things don't seem to be improving... Since Boobz is saying that on Zone the weight falls off you :) I'm willing to try it but need to have a very clear plan in my head on how to do it.

Boobz, any more news on Sculpt Aim? Are you still considering it?

jemstipp · 08/03/2015 08:18

Boobz and fullsteam. You've got to live too CakeWineSmile

polealltheway · 08/03/2015 10:12

Anyone tried rockin body or hip hop abs? I have seen amazing results online but wondering if anyone on here has tried them and got good results?

I don't quite feel ready for insanity yet

Sarahlouboo · 08/03/2015 13:54

Hey everyone. Not done anything yet today, did Alpha Speed yesterday so really need to do Alpha Abs today. Have had a weekend of excess like you Fullsteam! But you are right Jemstipp Cake Wine Smile.

I managed to find some early photos of me that I uploaded to an app. I am too shy to share them here as they pant and bra shots but I faffed around with them and managed to get them side by side with a current photo. From the front I don't really look that different - maybe a bit more definition around my tum and thinner arms and legs. But I am really chuffed with the difference from the side - definite tummy and bum shrinkage!

So here is a current photo of me with a few more clothes on! I would like to lose another half a stone (currently 9 st 7 lbs) and get a bit more definition around my tummy and lost some fat from my thighs. I am looking forward to feeling a bit more comfortable in my own skin this summer and wearing some nice clothes that fit!

spookyskeleton · 08/03/2015 13:57

Yay I did my run Smile it was 9.5 miles in the end and took just over 2 hours (I jog rather than run Grin). However my legs are aching like mad now so I hope a good rest and sleep tonight will make them recover in time for Core Cardio tomorrow!

Thanks everyone for the reassurance about the beta workouts - TBC is just so hard, I am glad that nothing is quite that bad!!

Fullsteamahead · 08/03/2015 18:24

Wow Sarah!!!!!!!!!

You look amazing, there is definitely great definition around your stomach area, great effort and keep it up!!! Huge congrats!!!

Spooky, just reading that you jogged for two hours made me a bit nauseous! Well done you, what a trooper!

As planned I did Beta core cardio today and also did the full 25 min stretch which I really enjoyed.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone xxx

Purpleraindeer · 08/03/2015 18:36

Good work spooky - 10miles! It doesn't matter how fast. Anyone who can run that far deserves respect!

And Sarah - you look awesome. I want that sort of tummy definition. Unfortunately I still have a bit of wobble still to go.....
I did core cardio this am. Found it hard after rip'd circuit yesterday. My 2yo was in the room too. She kept shouting 'jump mummy' and then 'careful mummy!' when i did the plank stuff at the end. I agreed with her - I was close to falling over!
Glad you had a good weekend fullsteam - you've got to let loose sometime.

Well done purple, think I have ript circuit tomorrow...eek

Jackster - glad its not just me who was taken by surprise with core cardio!

Have just done speed 2.0 which I think you will love spooky, esp given you can jog for 2 hours Shock Grin

Ok tmi, I had my pelvic floor issue again. with speed 1.0 I got around it by sticking with low jacks and modifying for full jacks, but there were no full jacks in speed 2.0 but my pelvic floor totally wasn't up for it Sad its a shame because I could cope with the non modifier, and was enjoying the fast pace, so not sure what to do. stick on a tenna lady or modify I guess? Does anyone else have this, please pm if tmi.

Sarah you look fab, your hard work is def paying off, your now is what I am aiming for Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 08/03/2015 19:07

Sorry sleepyjean I posted over your clicking hip comment. I have had a little in one hip on one of the abs moves but don't know if its a worry, hopefully someone will know.

OP posts:
spookyskeleton · 08/03/2015 19:15

sarah you look amazing!! I really wish I had definition like that in my stomach Envy I am at far away from that, it is laughable!

sleepy sorry can't help with the clicky hip but I guess if there is pain, stop.

fullsteam I would go with the tena lady I think - no one needs to know (apart from us Grin)

Thanks for all the support about my running. I absolutely hated running 12 months ago but joined a local running group that does C25k at the end of last March and have amazed myself in what I have achieved since then. I am doing a half marathon at the end of April and that will be the final achievement.

Boobz · 08/03/2015 19:57

Am sitting on a plane about to take off so not sure how much I can squeeze in before switching off time..

Very quickly...

Spooky -10m that is awesome! I am hoping my asthma packs in soon so I can join you on the long runs...

Whiter - glad to see you're doing Max Insanity - am planning to start on April 1st so good to get a preview from you..

Full steam - my whole weekend has been a Write off - ate loads of carby stuff again on family picnic... But did manage another double workout today to make up for it a bit at least. Weddings are a killer. No time to chat Zone now but will post more on Tuesday after I have finished these work meetings tomorrow. Yes going to get Skulpt thing - ordering on payday at end of month.

Sarah can't see your photos now but will check them soon -i love a good transformation photo story!

And finally Yum - i have awful pelvic floor issues. I generally run for a wee on average 3 times a workout, and www myself a little bit no matter what. I pretend it's sweat and obviously wash all my kit straight away (TMI!)

Right - back on Tues!

Boobz · 08/03/2015 19:58

Not sure why my phone autocorrected my wee into www!

Fullsteamahead · 08/03/2015 20:38

Sllepyjean, I have exactly the same problem with clicking! It does puzzle me too so would love to find out more if anyone knows. My husband keeps telling me to go and speak to the doctor about it! I guess to him it sounds a lot worse than it actually is to me, like you I have no pain with it...

Boobz, enjoy the meetings tomorrow ;)

Yum, so sorry to hear about your pelvic floor, luckily Ive never had that issue so I can't even be of any help :(

Newrule · 08/03/2015 20:39

Sarah you look great. Well done.

Did Fit Test and Max Interval today. Feel great. Weekends I go hell for leather with carbs. I plan to get onto the zone diet soon Hmm

Morning everyone,

I am looking forward to my second fit test this morning, is it wrong that mainly I am looking forward to it because it's only 30 mins? Wink
Sarah - fabulous photo, your figure looks stunning!
Fullsteam and Sleepy - I have clicky hips and shoulders too, no pain but v weird feeling, I don't know what it is either though.
For those of you with pelvic floor weakness, please google pelvic floor exercises and add them to your daily routine, they really do help x

jemstipp · 09/03/2015 08:12

Day 1 of month two insanity today ladies and also day one of my period, nice combo!

I get clicking as well. Not loud or painful, just annoying. Sometimes in my left shoulder doing jacks and also my left hip doing a couple of different exercises. As I say, not sore just makes me more aware of how long the exercise goes on.

Wish me luck ladies. ALMOST A BLOODY HOUR OF FRIGGIN INSANITY

Purpleraindeer · 09/03/2015 08:25

Good luck jem!
Poppy - just to say I (amazingly) don't really have pelvic floor issues except for in speed 2.0. All that jumping must just bring it on!
Despite 2 helpings of chocolate mousse yesterday (yum) I have lost another kg. maybe I can market it as diet mousse?!
Ript circuit this am - I do it 3x this week. Am going to try to get thru all the press ups with no stopping. This may be impossible
