Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

I bought P90X from Amazon, but ripped Insanity off a friend (she gave it to me on a USB stick - not sure how she got it originally!)

I might still give the monitor a go - as long as it consistently does similar readings (even if the readings are too high or too low) then you can track consistent progress (or lack thereof). Whereas the Smart Scales appear to be able to differ by 10% at different times of the day!

Oh, wow, that video was so lovely, I can't believe he started crying!!! And Tanya was also crying in the background! Just amazing to see them all outside the "workout image"

I did beta speed 2.0 tonight and has come to the conclusion that working out in the evening doesn't suit me, I seriously thought I was going to die!!!

I'm having a fab week though - got my nails done yesterday, got my hair done today and getting spray tan done yesterday. I feel like a film star. So nice to get spoilt sometimes ??

Yumyum, you have to post the pictures, we've not had any on the thread for a while, it'd be a great morale booster for everyone!

Boobz, judging by your photos I think you are probably already under 20% BFP but it'll be great to find out, you'll have to put us all out of misery next week. Let us know how you get on with Facebook.

Argh. Not feeling it today. Think I will do Pure Cardio as it's shorter and then see how I feel about doing Insane/Cardio abs afterwards.

Was going to go for a run this morning instead of Insanity but it's pissing it down.

Someone shout at me to do it! Just can't be arsed!

Ah, I wish I still had my before photos. My phone kept needing to be repaired so I kept deleting them in case some random Apple employee saw them Grin.

Really interested to hear your JM versus T25 comparisons. I was a die hard JM fan and I have found T25 not easy but not as hard as I found JM to begin with but that could just be because I am fitter now. It defo seems to be more cardio and I quite like that but I am worried I might have lost the tiny bit of upper arm strength that I gained!

Lower focus done yesterday and I nailed the lunges Grin

I must admit, when I started doing insanity, I thought shaun t and tanya were a couple as he's always using her as the guide for form. It wasn't until I googled that I found out he wasn't.

On core cardio and balance. Hit the hard stuff monday, cringe. It's bloody brilliant, wish I'd done it sooner. Definitely works.

My fave is 'hop hop squat to the left we go' said rhythmically - don't know why but it makes me smile the way he says it. The other one is the line in alpha cardio when you are doing low kicks and he says it isn't a rest. Me and DH both shout at the TV that it bloody is a rest!!

Well alpha cardio done for the last time - feel sad about moving onto beta but I think that is more apprehension about what is coming next week ShockGrin

Sarah - I have yet to "nail" TBC after 15 months! Blush Getting through it in one piece is good work as far as I'm concerned!

spooky ooh yeah it makes me smile when he does his instructions in rap style! (He also does it a lot in Hip Hop Abs, iirc). "I'm gonna talk in a little rhythm now so you Know... how to Stick with Me". (I think that's in Beta Upper Focus.)

I am always amazed that Jimmy got a place on the Insanity team. He gets pulled up for not doing his suicides during the Max Interval Sports Training, and his power-knee moves are laughable.

Anna is my favourite. She has a short torso like me, and always seems chipper without being annoying (looking at you Tania).

Beta Rip t Circuit done today, rest days for me tomorrow and Saturday due to the wedding. Hope I'll be doing plenty of dancing to compensate for the lack of working out :)

Boobz, you mentioned the Zone diet. Can I ask, is there a specific book you'd recommend? The crossfit thing you linked to is really good. I'm just wondering if there are any resources that are aimed at the UK with the block equivalents in terms of food in weights rather than as cups.

I have some measuring cups but can't get my head around how to measure a cup of brocolli. I know I'm being a but dim, but just need a dummies guide of sorts.

Boobz, I do have day 1 photos but in my underwear. Definitely more tone. I will be taking 'day 1' photos that I can share when I move on to Max 30. Not as lean and mean as you are but I can see the hints of some of my stomach muscles.

I have lost a grand total of 2 pounds so far Hmm. I will need to clean up diet. However, my clothes are looser and fit better.
