Would you all like to join me here?

That's bizarre locket, I just worked out that my 2.42 miles which I was also running yesterday evening equals 3.87km, so pretty much 3.9km like you on w8r1!! Very reassuring to know someone else is running at the same speed on the same run Smile

HopOnTheMonnerBus · 27/04/2015 11:04

Hi all I started C25K last week but couldn't complete each days run. Blush

I did what I could though and I'm glad I stuck to the 3 runs at least.

Today I tried W1R1 again and completed it (yay!)

Glad there's this thread to check in to, hopefully I'll be encouraged to stick with it.

locketpocket · 27/04/2015 20:04

W8r2 - Well tonights run was a speed one - ran 2 miles in 19 mins, which I'm really kind of pleased with. BUT it's put me out a bit with the plan iyswim. I'm putting it down to the runners around me (it's in the same area as the athletics club ds1 attends, so there are loads of full-on runners) and I got carried away.
Made me realise I still need to work on stamina.

locketpocket · 27/04/2015 20:07

hop that first run is the hardest - mentally & physically. Well done for getting out there. There are loads of great tips and support on this thread.

NoisyOyster · 27/04/2015 20:17

Just bought my first ever pair of trainers Blush and just done w1 r1

Crikey that hurt. Didn't realise I was so unfit. You are all idols to me having got so far in your programmes

vikinglys · 27/04/2015 21:11

Arrggh w6r1 done, I thought the shorter runs would be easier than the 20 mins so I pushed harder and now i can barely lift my right leg to climb the front door step.

DontDoItDi · 27/04/2015 23:03

It was cold tonight and I think I was trying to go faster to get it over with and get back indoors! But of course that doesn’t work because you still have to run for the same time. So w2r2 done but I feel a bit stiff now.

ditavonteesed · 28/04/2015 07:10

I thought I was done for wiith the running as I realy couldnt be bothered yesterday, then dd really hurt her foot and we ended up in A&E last night so I dont think she will be going to school. I woke up really early and was laid in bed thinking why am I awake so early its annoying and how am I supposed to fit walking the dogs and running in if dd is off school. Then it clicked so I have now completed w4 r3. I have definatly found this week the hardest but glad to be back on it.

addictedtosugar · 28/04/2015 10:58

vikinglys I found w6 the hardest, once I'd actually managed to get my trainers on and do W1r1. Stick with it. Your nearly there!

If the rain holds off, I'm running tonight, but need to work out where to go. I'm not at home, so tried running along the beach (hard, compact sand) and Oh boy was that tough (nothing to do with wine and restraunt meals, oh no!).

GinGinGin · 28/04/2015 13:43

Hi all.

I finished w4 this morning - will start w5 on Friday. I seem to remember from the last time of doing c25k that w5 was pretty tough - is that right????

vikinglights · 29/04/2015 08:15

w5 looked like it was going be tough (actually it looked impossible..) but it was surprisingly OK, when I told DH the plan was to run for 20 minutes he asked what route I was planning so he could send someone to find me if I didn't come home! today I'll be doing w6r2, and after monday I think I'll be aiming for just completeing it even if its slow.....

GinGinGin · 29/04/2015 09:26

Oh yes 20 mins - the beg part of my run is uphill so I'll look forward to doing that.....not!

HopOnTheMonnerBus · 29/04/2015 09:58

W1R2 completed.

Found it tough today and feel shattered now.

vikinglights · 29/04/2015 11:10

I found today tough too, I think I prefer running in the evening (well when I say prefer maybe I just mean hate a little bit less...)

I just keep telling myself that I'm doing it and thats good, it doesn't need to be fast and it doesn't need to be fun it just needs to be done

NoisyOyster · 29/04/2015 12:38

Just about to head out to do w1r2. Or possibly w1r1 again if it hurts too much. Is that allowed?

GinGinGin · 29/04/2015 13:50

Of course it is Oyster!

I know Viking - I hate the thought of it prior to doing it and I hate the beginning of it, but I do enjoy it from the 2nd interval in

ditavonteesed · 29/04/2015 15:52

I think you cxan do each run as many times as you need till you feel comfortable. I am starting week 5 tommorow, done a 7 minute davina workout today there quite good as they are only 7 minutes which is as long as I want to spend doing excercise. I am really enjoying the running again need to make sure I dont get put off at the first hurdle like I usually do.

AppleSnapple · 29/04/2015 16:39

I missed mine this morning as dh away so couldn't leave the dc before work but I am (sort of!) looking fwd to w2r3 tomorrow. Just want to get a few more weeks under my belt to feel like the transformation is underway!!

Cadsuane · 29/04/2015 17:04

W2r2 just done and have done over 11 000 steps today as wellGrin. Dds have fallen by the wayside but I am still loving it. I had planed to run last night but had a long day at school that felt even longer so went out as soon as I got home today. So run 3 on Friday I hope.

AppleSnapple · 29/04/2015 17:08

What's everyone's favourite running song, btw? At the moment I am loving it's all about that bass and another one bites the dust... Looking for suggestions to add to my upbeat and bouncy playlist!

Bowlersarm · 29/04/2015 17:14

W3R1 for the second time today and ooh it was hard. I think I need to repeat it again on Friday. I ran with my dog again today, it's so nice to have someone to run with! (Who can't criticise how slow I am/how hard I breathe....)

DontDoItDi · 29/04/2015 21:03

W2r3 done today. Tired but pleased! It was raining heavily this afternoon so I nearly didn’t go out, but it started to clear up this evening and I didn’t get wet. I’m OK once I get started but I do hate going out in the cold.

ditavonteesed · 30/04/2015 15:38

w5r1 done, not too bad actually like you dont do it I nearly didnt go as the clouds were very black but it held off for me and I had to take my jumper off after the first 5min run. Green day is my current running music got a good pace and all angry which is about how I feel while I am running. Just waiting for those lovely endorphins now.

I have been struggling a lot recently with planter fasitius and some days could hardly walk but running seems to have really helped which goes against everything the medical advice tells you. that is the main thing that is jkeeping me at it.

AppleSnapple · 30/04/2015 19:25

Ooh greenday, nice choice dita! I did W2R3 today listening to that's not my name by ting tings and (appropriately) Run by snow patrol! Still loving it, wonder will I get a shock on week 3? Am away this w/e but packing my trainers... Mustn't lose momentum!!

DontDoItDi · 30/04/2015 20:57

Been using the podcast not the app so I’m stuck with the NHS choice of “inspiring” music. I don’t mind too much because it’s been different each week (so far anyway!) and a lot of what I like to listen to isn’t good for running. I do treat myself to something of my own when I’m walking back afterwards.
