Would you all like to join me here?

OK - I have a problem . . .

I bought this running belt online www.kathmandu.co.nz/accessories/active/mono-bottle-belt-blue-wave-1.html and now I have it i am not sure whether it is worn with the bottle at the front or the back.

I'm guessing front, but I don't want to look like a massive twat and get it the wrong way round.

Any thoughts?

CruCru · 03/02/2015 14:46

Hi Whowould

The link is only going to the Kathmandy website - I've tried to follow the path but it doesn't seem to be on the website.

W9R2 done (yesterday). I am a bit faster but still not very fast. My brother is training for the marathon and I follow him on Garminconnect. He is much faster than I am.

slower is better (sorry its a daily fail link - it was also on Radio 2 this morning)
And longer than 50 mins, or more than 3 times a week doesn't offer any benefit.

WhoWould I think I'd want the bottle in the middle of my back, or at my hip. I can't see it being comfortable near my belly button, but I can't see the link.

stilllearnin · 03/02/2015 21:46

That's an interesting article (i read it on a torygraph link). So if like me you are not training but enjoy getting out there, you may be better off just enjoying different routes and mixing it up with other forms of exercise between runs. I think my knee is going to be ok. It swells up at the back when I walk anywhere but I am following docs strict instructions.

I agree the bottle cannot be at the front as I would keep knocking it with my thunder thighs

Cru!! nearly there!

CruCru · 03/02/2015 23:11

I read the article in the Telegraph too. Only thing is, it recommended a running speed of 5mph - isn't that walking speed?

OP posts:
stilllearnin · 04/02/2015 06:54

I'd say 3 miles in an hour is a walking pace. On a treadmill I walk at around 6kph (tho I have long legs)

addictedtosugar · 04/02/2015 09:09

I walk at 5-6 kph, and jog at about 9kph.
If I've got the maths right, thats 3-4 mph (I walk quite fast), and jog at 5.5mph. So, I don't need to speed up :) and I'm pretty slow - short of the 5km in 30 mins Laura advocates I'll be able to do since I finished C25K!

Will look at Torygraph.

still - yes, mixing it up sounds good. Have you tried swimming with your knee? ie not weight bearing???

TheRealMaryMillington · 04/02/2015 12:04

I am all for mixing it up. I am really liking getting outside and running (and it's basically to prove a point to myself) but I need to do yoga too for healthy mind. They go well together. 3 times per week for less than an hour sounds pretty much perfect to me.

I'm all cheery because I decided to take the train a few stops and run back along the coastal path. Just put it into walkjogrun and turns out I did 5.25k (one 3 min walking section at 8-11 mins in). So pleased! Not fast but who cares.

Glorious day - definitely need sunglasses soon - but how does that work?

CruCru · 04/02/2015 12:46

W9R3 done! Am wondering whether to start the 5to10 right away or wait until I come back from skiing - I don't want to start something difficult and then have to pick it up again later.

OP posts:
CruCru · 04/02/2015 12:48

TheRealMary - I always wear sunglasses when I run. I don't like people reading my expression when I'm exercising (I know that makes me sound a bit odd).

OP posts:
TheRealMaryMillington · 04/02/2015 13:20

Not at all Cru, running around seems exposing enough. Do you just wear normal ones or do you have some special attachment or something….don't they just flart off….?

I only have lady-fied cats-eye sunnies….might look a bit odd, looks strange enough with my cobbled together running gear...

TheRealMaryMillington · 04/02/2015 13:21

when are you ski-ing? surely that will be good for maintaining fitness anyway?

CruCru · 04/02/2015 17:24

It will be great for my fitness (as long as not too much red wine). I just don't want to start my week tired and achy from doing new strenuous exercise.

I wear a thick hairband which holds my earphones and sunglasses in place.

They are big, square things.

I'm skiing the week after next (half term).

Nice work in finishing Cru - inspiration for me!

CruCru · 04/02/2015 19:15

Thanks Whowould!

OP posts:
Indomitable · 04/02/2015 19:42

Well done Cru!

I haven't thought about what I'll do when I finish this. It's still in the 'if' stage at the moment.

I did w6r1 yesterday. It was nice, after 20mins on Sunday, 5/8/5 was easy. Not looking forward to 25 mins on Sunday though!

DisparateHouseMice · 04/02/2015 21:13

Bravo Cru !
You must feel soooo great.

W5 finished today.

CruCru · 04/02/2015 22:24

Ah thanks all. If I start the 5to10, shall I carry on updating you all?

OP posts:
Whowouldfardelsbear · 05/02/2015 05:02

I should think so Cru - and it will be good to have someone who's completed C25K sticking around to answer my queries and fears about the upcoming weeks!

CruCru · 05/02/2015 07:12

Coolness. My brother said he's going to design me a training plan - but I'll believe it when I see it frankly so I'll stick to podcasts.

OP posts:
TheRealMaryMillington · 05/02/2015 09:25

Oh please do Cru, you can be the bold pioneer to inspire us and feed back on how you felt as we all reach different milestones.

TheRealMaryMillington · 05/02/2015 09:26

My arse is very definitely feeling the impact of yesterday's efforts.
