I feel guilty now seeing you all struggling through...I w

tabulahrasa · 16/06/2014 12:36

Sorry, phone, hit the button by accident.

I woke up this morning having slept funny with a sore back and thought, stuff it, I'm having a day off Blush

BetterWithCheese · 16/06/2014 13:50

tabulah I'm working to a deadline. Also I only realised partway through that I really felt crappy.

tabulahrasa · 16/06/2014 13:55

Tssk - you're doing it wrong, you should be feeling smug about struggling through it :)

I would be if I'd done it, lol

I've no deadline, I'm only doing it for me, I figure taking an extra rest day if it means me keeping up my motivation is better than just feeling horrible and getting demotivated.

ScarlettInSpace · 16/06/2014 14:29

Hi everyone, sorry for just jumping in [with an imaginary skipping rope of course!] I'm after some reassurance from the experts Grin

I've just done the 4th day of 30 day shred, I started on Thursday & missed yesterday. The thing is I still can't do all the exercises without stopping, I feel I should have some kind of progression & I don't feel like I'm seeing any?

The only sections I can complete in full are the floor exercises - the rest I am crap at and have to stop in the middle for a few seconds.

I can't even monitor any change in weight/measurements as I'm due on this week so I'm 2 inches bigger all over Sad

Is this normal & does it get easier? Please please tell me it gets easier!!

ImogenQuy · 17/06/2014 07:02

30DS L3D6 done. Still have a cold, and bailed out of the second set of plank raises altogether. Also have to leave for work in a minute. Groan. Wail. Self-pitying sobs.

Felix, no tips, I'm afraid, except hot bath and maybe Deep Heat or similar? If it really hurts you may need to take a couple of days off and rest it.

Welcome, Scarlett. It does get easier, and if you weren't very aerobically fit to begin with it would be surprising if you could do all the exercises straight through from day one: you just need to keep pushing yourself and do as much as you possibly can without actually dying from heart failure . If you're due on this week you may find it improves next week - I don't suffer from pre-menstrual problems but other people in this thread have mentioned that they see a difference when they're due.

Ri30 L4D5 yay five more days to go. I quite like this level. It feels intense without making me feel as tho I am about to keel over. And I found kickbox fast fix on various online sites which is a JM 20 min workout so I may do that after ripped as it is shorter than BFBM and my morning need short. But advice needed because on the back of my right knee there is a swelling that is not painful but tender. Any ideas what it is? Have a good un.

Sorry yadahyadah, no idea about your knee but I hope it gets better quickly.

I've not done my workout yet. I was waiting for DD to wake up from her nap as she's only been sleeping for about 30-40 minutes and I hate being interrupted but of course today she slept for over two hours. I wish I'd done it now. Oh well she can watch me in a few minutes. I've just ordered a pair of 5kg weights because they were cheaper than the 4kg ones I was looking at. I'm just going to have to get stronger faster.

AnyaKnowIt · 17/06/2014 11:45

30dsl3d7 I think

Took a long weekend off as had a strange sick bug.

Have you tried an ice pack on your knee to bring down the sweling?

BetterWithCheese · 17/06/2014 13:19

Almost there, Anya!

Ri30 L1D6 done. Quite enjoyed it today but I am sweating a shocking amount. DD stayed entertained by her Sophie Giraffe-thingy which I only had to retrieve for her a few times so wasn't too bad. She found my arm circles very amusing. Oh and I'm up to 6 full press-ups before I fall to my knees [insert proud emoticon here].

Going to do first couch to 5k run this evening - wish me luck.

Sorelip · 17/06/2014 14:37

Ri30 L3D2 done today. I hate it.

BetterWithCheese · 17/06/2014 19:37

Sorelip I'm very scared of level 3, everyone has hated it!

JaneParker · 17/06/2014 21:44

Day 1 of level 1. Not too bad although its hard to follow some of the exercises.

ImogenQuy · 18/06/2014 07:00

30DS L3D7. Slightly less feeble than the last couple of days, although my second set of jumping lunges were not so much jumping as doing a token hop in between. I won't quite finish the Shred in time for the weekend which is a bit sad, but I think I'll have the weekend off anyway, do a last couple of days on L3 and then move on to RI30.

yadahyadah · 18/06/2014 08:16

Ri30 L4D6 done. Gotta dash. Have fun, all

OP posts:
Sorelip · 18/06/2014 09:01

Duck walk - bollocks to that. Ditto jumping lunges.

AnyaKnowIt · 18/06/2014 10:53

30dsL3d8

What's it like moving from shred to ripped?

Did today in my pjs and excited as my bottoms kept failing down only to discover that the elastic has gone Sad

StuntNun · 18/06/2014 11:06

You get used to the moves quite quickly Jane.

For jumping lunges, I do the jump part but land with my feet together rather than landing in the lunge. I don't have the strength and coordination to do the whole thing and I suspect I would end up injuring myself.

Anya Ri30 is a good follow on from the Shred, I feel like level 1 is going back to basics and consolidating the things you need to get right to move on with Ripped.

AnyaKnowIt · 18/06/2014 12:35

That's good to hear StuntNun

BetterWithCheese · 18/06/2014 13:03

Ri30 L1D7 done. Another hard day. I think it might be because I did my first C25K last night after dinner and hasn't eaten yet when I started my workout today. I think the runs are going to have to be done before dinner.

Anya as Stunt says, the moves are generally easier coordination-wise in level 1 of Ripped compared to level 3 of Shred but overall I work harder.

yadahyadah · 18/06/2014 13:04

I have found it a really good follow on and one I would return to for sure. Bits of it are stupid hard - duck walk, renegade row plus pressups etc. But you improve quite fast despite the hardcore-ness.

AnyaKnowIt · 18/06/2014 13:42

Ooh that's good, have you all noticed any changes? I'm disappointed with shred, not much of any change.

Just spend a fortune on fabric and a dressmakers dummy so I need some change! Grin

Lambzig · 18/06/2014 15:10

Well epic fail from me for the last couple of days as I managed to get food poisoning. Its going to be hard to motivate myself for the last three days before I go on holiday.

Anya, my weight isnt much different, but I have noticed one drastic change. I am at work today and wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress I bought six years ago before having two children. It was a stupid sale bargain purchase that never fit me (always too tight on the upper hip area and across the thighs) and was cut in a way that didnt flatter my arms. I tried it on this morning in desperation and it skims my body loosely, looks amazing and my arms look fine despite being largely exposed. I have had so many compliments today. So, after doing 30DS, and most of RI30 I am slimmer and more toned than I was before I had two DC, even though I weigh about the same.

FelixFelix · 18/06/2014 15:21

Lambzig how wonderful! I bet you feel amazing Smile

I managed to skip a day yesterday so made sure I motivated myself to carry on with 30DS this morning. Had to turn it off half way because my calf is absolutely killing. I pulled it slightly last week and it was feeling better but now I think I've made it worse. So frustrating! Angry I have no idea what to do to make it better.

Sorelip · 18/06/2014 15:24

My arse has lifted up and is smaller. My post c-section belly is in better shape than before I ever got pregnant, and my arm fat has reduced. And my thighs have got smaller. I have muscles now.
