Well I have persevered with the 30DS, I did Day 6 this morning [nearly didn't after being pulled into zumba with SIL last night] and I do seem to have crossed a bit of a line with it - the only bits I didn't complete today were the arm ones whilst squatting/lunging, so I'm definitely seeing some kind of progress.

I think I was getting worried when JM was saying by day 5 it should be getting easier, and it just wasn't...

I need the arm ones too, I've just bought my wedding dress & its strapless so i have 12 months to get gawjuss upper arms Grin

Am loving the results you are all seeing!

ddas · 18/06/2014 18:14

With the 30 day shred on u tube do you need any equipment? If so any alternatives that you can use so can start it tonight?

AnyaKnowIt · 18/06/2014 18:46

Envy at the results you are all getting.

ddas, I started off using time of baked bean

ImogenQuy · 18/06/2014 19:22

You need a mat if you're going to do it on a hard surface, ddas. Otherwise a couple of tins or small bottles of water will do the job to start with.

Anya, I've nearly finished the Shred and I look...exactly like I did to begin with. I feel stronger but I don't see any changes at all.

jocastafantastica · 18/06/2014 21:03

30s L1d8 done today - had weekend off but have been getting up early to do it before the morning onslaught begins. Definitely getting less close to collapsing and starting to feel like I'm toning up.
Lamb zig and others your posts are very motivational, I need to stick with this as I am a real 'all or nothing' exerciser who never has a slight lapse, I fall off the exercise wagon for years at a time Blush

yadahyadah · 18/06/2014 22:42

Cor Lambzig and Sorelip you two sound hot! I did not notice much change after Shred although measurements of hips thighs and arms had reduced. But Ripped has really made me see a difference in myself. Now that I seem to have worked out how to best to address my eating patterns too I feel as tho weight is shifting pretty fast. My advice is stick with it, even if you feel a bit like wha? After Shred. Also look up some of the youtube vids people have put up of their physical transformations using JM. It certainly keeps you going.

30DSL3D8. Two more to go before I start on RI30, eek...

I suppose I was expecting a bit too much by way of physical transformation, really, given that I wasn't trying to lose any weight. Also my legs are pretty strong anyway, from cycling everywhere - I do 40-60 miles on the bike in an average week. Has anyone else noticed that their stomach looks positively worse after the Shred, though? Looking at mine, you can now see really clearly that I have a horrible wodge of podge just below my navel. I think the muscles underneath have strengthened and somehow pushed it outwards: it's deeply unattractive.

Lambzig · 19/06/2014 08:10

RI30 L4D6 done. Finding it a bit easier, except for that second cardio circuit, I really struggle. I love the abs exercises in this level.

Ha, ha, I don't think anyone has considered me hot for a good ten years. It's nice to fit into clothes that haven't fit for years, or never fit at all, particularly as pre DC I used to be able to afford the odd designer thing in the sale.

Lambzig · 19/06/2014 08:13

Oh Imogen, I have that too, between the Navel and my CS scar. I don't think it's pushed out, I think it's just more obvious as other bits are getting toned, rather than an overall podginess IYSWIM. I measure that upper hip area and overall it's got smaller, but looks worse.

yadahyadah · 19/06/2014 09:56

Ri30 L4D7 done and I was not in the mood but thankfully once I started my mind switched off and I just bloody did it. I feel like I am shrinking but in a proportionate way - does that make sense? So clothing is roomier and more skimming than sticking but unclothed all the same wobbles exist where they did before. No idea how to tackle that. I suspect a strict vegan macrobiotic paleo diet or some such impossibility would do the trick but frankly life is too short.

Surely that is how weight loss works Yadah, you lose it from all over. I lost a couple of stone last year and I was quite surprised that I lost half an inch off my wrists as I didn't even know I had fat there but I guess it goes on everywhere and a bit more so in some regions such as abdomen, hips and thighs. I'm at my ideal weight but I'm still carrying a lot of fat on my tummy so I started 14:10 intermittent fasting three days a week (basically you don't eat for fourteen hours after your last meal of the day so I have brunch around 11 depending on what time I had dinner the day before). Intermittant fasting is supposed to target the stubborn fat but I don't know how much actual evidence there is for it. I did read up on it but the science went over my head.

yadahyadah · 19/06/2014 10:25

Yup you are right Stuntnun I just wish it wasn't so. I would rather lose that cm from my tum than my wrist [sulks]. I have been following the 16:8 or 14:10 depending on hormonal requirements since it came up on this thread and I have really noticed a difference in fat loss. So I am super pleased about that. I feel as though I have begun a routine that I am going to be able to stick with in terms of both exercise and diet so hopefully, it is a matter of time.

Ri30 L1D8 done, much better today. I should preview level 2 but I'm not sure that I want to know.

Imogen I always notice when I start to exercise my tummy fat starts to sit unattractively, but it usually gets better after a few more weeks.

tabulahrasa · 19/06/2014 12:03

Hi

I've had a horrible few days - some personal stuff that's a bit too heavy for this thread...and me tbh, so I'm lurking. (Not the poor rug weighing down dog, I think he's doing ok, though not 100% yet)

I'm planning to just start level 1 of ripped again from Monday as I'm struggling with both motivation and time, so I figure new week, new start is better than just struggling. Also I know I can't just have a week off and carry on from where I was, level 2 was killing me anyway, lol

AnyaKnowIt · 19/06/2014 14:15

30DSL3D9? Done also did day 1 of ripped, did both with 2.26kg weights.

Hope things improve soon tabulahrasa Flowers

BetterWithCheese · 19/06/2014 15:30

tabulah I hope things improve for you Thanks. I'm going to miss following along behind you, I liked your reports about what to expect.

Anya back-to-back, you are hardcore!

AnyaKnowIt · 19/06/2014 17:21

Yep, but don't feel so hardcore now tho!

BetterWithCheese · 19/06/2014 20:39

How did you find Ri30? I really like level 1 but am a bit scared of the other levels. That reminds me, I'll watch level 2 now while DH us watching England play.

AnyaKnowIt · 19/06/2014 20:46

I enjoyed it far more then shred.

ImogenQuy · 20/06/2014 06:59

Thanks tabulahrasa. I hope this is just a bad few days and better times are round the corner (and that your poor dog is completely recovered soon).

30DSL3D9. Feeling a bit demotivated now that I've nearly finished and the only effect is that my stomach looks worse (measurements are the same so it can't be actually worse, but it definitely looks it!). I'll persevere through RI30, having bought it, and if that doesn't work will throw the lot out in disgust. Well done to all those who are seeing a difference.

yadahyadah · 20/06/2014 08:10

Ri30 L4D8 done. Imogen I felt a bit like that after Shred but carried on with Ripped and I am glad I did. So much of Shred is about building fitness I think that it is only when you move on with all that gained that you can really benefit from other programs.

OP posts:
ImogenQuy · 20/06/2014 08:15

Thanks, yadah. I'm just having a massive tantrum! I don't have time for a proper mid-life crisis so I'm going to stamp my feet and sulk about this.

AnyaKnowIt · 20/06/2014 10:51

It's not fair is it

yadahyadah · 20/06/2014 11:37

Yeah I still don't look like bloody Anita. Humph
