Logging my daily JM fix and getting advice and motivation has been great over the past two months so here is a thread for all those of you who want to do the same again or for the first time. Come on, summer's nearly here and your butt's got Jillian's name on it Smile

I said goodnight to her last night, def need to get out more...

MegBusset · 17/05/2014 09:12

What's NMTZ like? It's on my dvd along with 6w6p.

Weighed in today, i have lost 4lb in two weeks :)

BetterWithCheese · 17/05/2014 09:46

Didn't have rest day, did day 7 of level
2 instead. I go on holiday on June 2nd so going to aim to complete it all by then. Might not quite make it but going to give it my best shot.

tabulahrasa · 17/05/2014 12:31

30DSL3D1...

Shock

My, it's energetic! lol

All the moves bar one* I think are easier in themselves than level 2 - but it's definitely more intense in a sweaty way, lol, lots of jumping, which does not look as pretty when I do it compared to them, rofl.

  • rockstar jumps - I gave up on them pretty quickly as my feet weren't making it down fast enough and I could see it was going to end in me in a heap, so I swapped them for double jump ropes...I'll try them again in a couple of days.

I'm actually pretty chuffed with myself that I did it, even badly as there's no way I'd have been able to a few weeks ago.

Lambzig · 17/05/2014 20:35

Rin30 L2D4 done this morning. I have finally got the hang of the crow push up thingys without falling on my face.

Tabular, I found level 3 of 30DS nicer than level 2. Not saying it's easier, but it's more enjoyable so feels less dreadful to do. Not sure I ever completely perfected the rock star jumps though.

BetterWithCheese · 18/05/2014 10:19

30DS L2D8 done. Third circuit still kills me but on the whole it's a bit easier. Can't believe I'm two workouts away from level 3. I measured my waist today and it's 3 inches smaller than when I started (mid-April, it took me ages to get through level 1) which is a great incentive to push through to the end.

Lambzig crow push-ups don't sound very fun, well done!

tabulah you're on the home straight now!

tabulahrasa · 18/05/2014 13:03

30DSL3D2

Well I'm a bit achey, but nothing deadly.

Apparently I should be able to see a six pack by now, or do she says Hmm I suspect that's only true if you were slim to start with, lol

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 19/05/2014 12:34

I did 30DS L3 D1 doesn't feel as bad as level 2 but couldn't do the sit ups where you sit up straight at all. Not getting as sweaty as level 2 either. Hopefully when the moves become easier I will get more out if it.

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 19/05/2014 12:36

Tabulah I definitely do not have the start of a six pack, still very much the barrel still Wink

yadahyadah · 19/05/2014 14:05

Ri30 L2D9 done and it felt very doable - sweaty but doable. Tomorrow last day of L2, then one day of L3 on weds and off on hols til Sunday. Oh well.. At least I will know what I am in for upon my return. Well done on crow push up s Lambzig. I got my form right on them by going to the JM website upon which she demonstrates each exercise for you to work out your form. Very useful when it comes to insane side lunges and anterior lunges etc.

yadah - oh, never occurred to me to look on the JM website for extra help - good idea!

meg - you asked about NMTZ. I'm doing that this week before the hols. It's a different format to shred/ripped - 7 circuits of moves which target different areas so you can either do the whole thing or choose a subset. like it except that it doesn't really have any cardio

BetterWithCheese · 19/05/2014 17:14

30DS L2D9 done. Will finish level 2 tomorrow - hooray!

StuntNun · 20/05/2014 06:49

Here's a tip I discovered yesterday, if you have trouble with your balance on any of the exercises try looking at a fixed point on the wall rather than looking at the TV screen. I have rubbish balance and this really helps me.

BetterWithCheese · 20/05/2014 09:50

Great tip StuntNun!

30 DS level 2 done. Day off tomorrow, whew.

Lambzig · 20/05/2014 12:05

Oh god, I hated that bit where she says you should see a six pack appearing now. So depressing every morning.

RI30 L2D6 done and it's finally getting easier.

I realised that with the crow push ups I was trying to move my elbow to meet my knee as well as my knee upwards, so essentially trying to do a one handed push up. Unsurprisingly I couldn't.

After a couple of months of this, I am really enjoying feeling my body working when I do everyday stuff, if that makes sense at all.

I have 6lbs to go to hit my goal weight, I expect they will be a very tricky 6lb, but at least I am getting there.

tabulahrasa · 20/05/2014 12:24

I had a rest day yesterday, but DD had an orthodontist appointment this morning so I haven't got round to it yet and really I need to be getting on with other stuff...

I'm planning to do it about 4ish, if I don't check in sometime later - will you all come looking for me and shout at me please, lol

yadahyadah · 20/05/2014 16:20

Ri30 L2 D10 done yay. Haven't seen L3 yet. Might have a look tonight and mentally prepare myself. Lambzig I love feeling strong again. On Sat night I cycled up a big hill after several drinks while standing up. I cycle that hill alot and it has never been easier than post JM. She rules.

30DSL3D3

ugh, yep it's definitely better doing it in the morning, lol

TorianaTollywobbles · 20/05/2014 19:04

30DS L2 D1 done!

Haven't managed any shredding over the weekend so decided to dive right in with the start of L2.

Managed pretty much most of it, but was never this sweaty with L1 Grin. 4 weeks till holiday so am aiming for 2 weeks L2 then 2 weeks L3.

Not noticing much change in body shape yet, but hoping that will come.

ImogenQuy · 20/05/2014 19:25

L1D2 here - I meant to start last week but real life got in the way. Very do-able except the press-ups, though my calves hurt today.

StuntNun · 21/05/2014 09:26

Sore back here Sad so no shred today dammit.

tabulahrasa · 21/05/2014 10:47

30DSL3D4

I've decided, I'm doing RI30 next, that way I can carry on doing the modified versions, lol

ImogenQuy · 21/05/2014 11:44

How long are the workouts in RI30? I can fit in 20 minutes, but longer is pushing it.

tabulahrasa · 21/05/2014 12:14

I think 30DS is 27 minutes including warm up and cool down and RI30 is 35...so not much longer.

An extra 8 minutes, I can do an extra 8 minutes if it means not trying to do the harder versions, rofl

StuntNun · 21/05/2014 12:43

Tabula I have just started the shred again at level 1 only using 2 or 3 kg weights for the exercises apart from that one where you have to stick your bum out sideways cos I can't do that at the same time as lifting heavy things, holding my 1 kg weights through all the cardio bits a la level 3, and following Natalie more than Anita. It's working really well for me as I can nearly do half a press up now. I'm going to move on to a different DVD once I've mastered the press up and sit up.
