Starting the next thread for all those doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3.
For those having problems with their knees on the higher impact activities here are some suggestions from TalkinPeace:

^The secret is to build up the teeny muscles that support the side of the patella:

LOTS of balancing and yoga

  • stand with feet 6 inches apart, knees slightly bent, lift one foot off the floor, close eyes and see how long you can hold, repeat to other side.
  • stand with feet 6 inches apart, up onto tiptoes with legs straight, close eyes for as long as you can
  • stand on one foot, move the other foot to the front, side, back, side, in smooth semicircles about two inches off the floor - five each way each side before resting.

Alternative to skipping : march on the spot, bringing your knees up as high as you can.
Alternative to running : walk at jogging pace, pumping arms up to ceiling
Alternative to jumping jacks : half jacks, pump arms alternate sides and ceiling.^

Then there are other movements that seem ridiculously easy - the bit where you're lifting one weight from the ground to the air.

I agree on that - it doesn't seem to fit with the other L3 exercises. I've stopped doing that one and instead I do the one from an earlier level where you have a weight in each hand and lift them up in a v-shape (sorry if that doesn't describe it very well).

The leg scissors thing in L3 is weird. At first I felt like my tummy was going to rupture, even though I was only getting as low as Anita. Then suddenly one day I could do it like Natalie no trouble. Confused

That describes the 'V-raise' very well - and yes that, and the static squat one in the first circuit of L2 are much harder. I enjoy the dumbbell clean though, do a really low squat and then up with the non-girlie weight. Grin

L3 D4 done.
I know what you mean about the varying difficulty of L3 moves. Very impressed at those who swap for a killer move or lift 10lbs Shock
My natural inclination to avoid over exertion means I rejoice in the knowledge that I don't feel like I'm gonna diiee for a short interval.
My legs are practically at right angle for the scissor abs move and I try and focus on sucking abs in and lifting pelvic floor. I think if you force a move and it's uncomfortable it's because the target muscles aren't strong enough yet and that's when injuries can happen.
I found Banish Fat Boost Metabolism DVD today which I don't even remember buying so may give that a go when my 30 days are done.

Ripped in 30 L1D1 today.
I am going to mix KB&T and RI30 depending on the amount of time I have, trying to do 2 or 3 of each a week.
I quite enjoyed it actually.
I hate plank stuff so the fact there was only one was good for me.

Tanu well done on one more day to go!
What do you plan to do after?

Keep going everyone, think how awesome we are all gonna feel by summer if we keep it up!

No my eyebrows Ha! Arms were so shaky I couldn't fill them in properly and now they're uneven and patchy Grin
