My thighs are still aching from the bazillion squats that Bob made me do on Monday! Managed L2 Ripped yesterday but was a bit creaky for some of the exercises..... Nothing today and then 60 Second Promise on Thursday after work - it's has a number of short workouts so I plan to do 30 mins worth. Then I am off for a half day at a local spa on Friday as a birthday present. It has a good gym so will spend at least 45 mins or so in there before lounging on sunbed round the pool. Bobs Pure Strength on Saturday and then posh dinner out and lots of wine so not sure what, if anything, will happen on Sunday.

EarSlaps · 29/01/2014 20:33

Got the lurgy so having a bit of time off Jillian.

threestepsforward · 30/01/2014 14:49

Afternoon all

I've been really crap at the mo and life and work have been v hectic so I dropped off the thread for a bit.

If I stayed on it, I would keep coming on and saying "I did yoga", "I did yoga", "I did yoga" etc. Grin

Doing a new yoga CD by someone called Rodney - he is ace! If you're interested just google Rodney + yoga and he'll come up.

So yes, I've been doing yoga, alot! Also fitting in the odd Killer or Shred where I can, which hopefully is keeping the old CV system up to speed! And I'm just about on top of the food situation - huzzah! There's no room for complacency sadly as I think once you've suffered from one or other eating problem, it does tend to sneak up on you when your guard is down...

Mum is currently at the hospital and I'm here jiggling my feet and looking after her dog. She's going to call me when the op is over and hopefully they'll let me go in and see her this evening Smile

I check up on the thread from time to time and it's really great to see how you're all doing so well.

Earslaps, Sad re the lurgy. Hope you get a chance to take it easy and recover soon x Jillian will be waiting for you!

Hopefully will be back on the thread more regularly soon...
take care y'all xxx

Fingers crossed all goes well for your mum threesteps! Yoga sounds good, I keep meaning to try it but I never seem to fit it all in.

Lurgy slowly lifting, think I'll be back to Jillian tomorrow as I'm determined to fit my three sessions in this week.

knottyhair · 31/01/2014 05:44

Threesteps, hope the op goes well and that you got to see your mum Thanks. Earslaps, hope you recover soon.
I've also been crap, at keeping up with the thread, and Jillian. Just been a bit under the weather and have now had sore throat/chest thing (hope that's not too technical for you all) for a few days. But I've been trying to walk everywhere, including a 4.5 mile round trip to Musicbugs with DD. I think I'll see how I am after the weekend, and hopefully get back to it on Monday. Hi to everyone else!!

Happypiglet · 03/02/2014 09:55

HI all
Threesteps hope all went well with your mum.
Earslaps did you feel well enough to JM over the weekend?
Knotty hair hope you are well enough to do some JM this week!
I have a bit of a cold but forced myself to do Shred L3 today. And glad I did. The rest of today is manic rushing from one thing to another but the rest of the week is quieter so hope to fit some more JMing in

threestepsforward · 03/02/2014 11:40

Just popping in to say all is well with mum :)
Op went well and surgeon seemed positive, we'll have the results within 2 weeks...

Sorry to hear all the lurgies and bugs are out in force. Hope anyone suffering is feeling better soon.

x

Fantastic news threesteps Smile. Fingers crossed for good results.

Well the lurgy is better, but the weekend was a rush of football, swimming, painting a ceiling, more swimming and more painting! Plus now I have workmen in and out of the house so a bit difficult to exercise. I'm just trying to eat carefully (hard without a kitchen) and do plenty of walking. I'll get back to it whenever I can.

Such a horrible time of year with all the bugs, hope you are both feeling better too knotty and happy.

gingercat12 · 03/02/2014 13:54

All the best to threesteps's Mom and everyoone with bugs, lurgy, etc.

Ripped in 30 L4 with ankle weights, running and real life took over a little bit. I just wanted to say that all your suggestions about running were immensely helpful. Although I still do not enjoy C25K, but afterwards I can easily run home from the park (it is only 3-5 minutes, but I could never do it in the past). It probably means that week 3 is not a proper challenge - thank you Jillian!, but I am building up mental strength.

notyummy · 03/02/2014 18:22

Fingers crossed for your mum threesteps. And hope all those with the lurgy are feeling a bit better.

Did Bobs Pure Strength on Saturday and then opened my birthday presents- and one of them was his yoga DVD. So did that on Sunday. Nice for a change and def a bazillion degrees easier than either his cardio or strength! Don't gets wrong - there were some of the advanced poses that I struggled with, but it's not quite the same level of pain...
40 mins on then cross trainer tonight and Bobs cardio tomorrow, followed by another new workout (Tracey Anderson Mat workout) on Wednesday. I have heard she is annoying so we shall see....

Kundry · 04/02/2014 21:35

Hello everyone - can I come and join in?

I'm a total beginner and am currently on Day 3 Level 1 of the shred. Am total couch potato but determined to lose a stone and a half, already lost 2 stone but unfortunately put half a stone back on over Christmas. Am doing myfitnesspal to track calories.

I'm very unfit - I haven't used weights and on day 1 I gave up at 16 minutes as I thought I was about to die. Can't believe it's day 3 and I got all the way through!!!! (OK I was missing 10 seconds of cardio here and there to get my breath back but I'm not counting that) Will need lots of motivation to make this a permanent habit though.

My plan is 10 days level 1 minus weights, then 10 days plus weights before moving up to level 2.

Always hated exercise but can't believe how pumped I feel afterwards, even if I am collapsing in a heap.

knottyhair · 05/02/2014 05:32

Hi Kundry! I could've written your post a few years ago - I was exactly the same when I started. Keep at it, it's amazing how you can progress. I managed to lose 2.5 stone through Jillian & MFP - you can do it. I also managed to get pregnant again a few months later at the age of 45 though, so was back, if not to square one, then fairly near, a year ago.

Aaaaagh, still haven't managed to get back to Jillian yet - felt better on Monday but DS woke up with high temp so he's been off sick from school, although I think he'll be back in today. But then I had an upset tummy most of the evening yesterday, and feel decidedly wobbly this morning. Need to walk into town tomorrow first thing, so I'm really hoping that I can do something on Friday. Keep it up everyone!

Jacksterbear · 05/02/2014 07:36

Happy belated birthday notyummy!

Kundry you're doing really well, just keep going! I first started shredding with a stone of baby weight to lose and only a month before I returned to work from mat leave. By the time I went back (thanks to Jillian and MFP) I'd lost half a stone and fitted into my work clothes; I lost the other half a stone within another month.

knotty sorry you've had illness and lots of crap to contend with, hope things settle down soon.

I'm still Shaun T'ing, all good.

Lots of love and encouraging vibes to you all. X

notyummy · 05/02/2014 10:59

Kundry- you have made a brilliant start. Trust us that it will make a huge difference if you stick at it! Keep pushing yourself.

I did Bob H's Cardio Rec yesterday which was pretty tough but not quite as bad as his strength one. Trying my new Tracey workout today and will report back.

notyummy · 07/02/2014 11:38

Well I did the Tracey Anderson Mat workout on Wednesday. Hmm. Bits of it burned. Bits of it made me feel like a twat (I regularly do workouts with DH but would not so this one in front of him, he would wet himself.) She pouts and hair flicks a LOT. I fear I may never quite achieve Tracey's results because she says you must the workout 4-6 times a week and frankly the thought of standing watching her whilst pretending to be a ballet dancer for nearly an hour 6 times a week makes me want to kill myself. It's not necessarily the type of exercise- it's not amazing dissimilar to some Pilates and Callanetics DVDs I have......it's her tbh.

Returned to the relative safety of Bobs yoga yesterday. My back had felt quite good after I did it on Sunday, but sadly after yesterday it was really bad all evening. I do quite enjoy so will try again next week and see what happens. 60 second promise today, and I suspect DH will want to do Bobs Pure Strength tomorrow.....

Jacksterbear · 07/02/2014 12:43

notyummy I do think it's v important to like the instructor on DVDs! Apart from the workouts themselves, I love JM as she's the perfect mix of encouraging without being too cheesy or too shouty! And I love Shaun T too because he's hottt he has an amazing magnetic personality that really comes through in the DVDs.

I've put a photo on my profile of me in the jeans that were distinctly snug when I tried them in on Xmas day. No before photo, but there was definite muffin toppage going on! Thanks Shaun T and MFP!

Kundry · 07/02/2014 13:40

JM is a bit cheesy but she seems to have a knack of being most cheesy when you feel most desperate - some of the stuff she says I'd usually find really silly but when I feel like I'm about to die and she says 'that is fear leaving your body' I find it really encouraging. Plus I know there's only 3 minutes to go then Grin

I tried Davina once and found her quite annoying. It could be the best DVD in the world but if you find the trainer too annoying to watch, it isn't going to do you any good, is it?

I'm day 7 of level 1 today. I started using some handweights (only 0.5kg) yesterday and it was OK so I'm thinking of speeding up my plan and going straight on to level 2 after 10 days.

I really feel noticeably better and more energized and think I'm standing up straighter. Plus I've lost 4 pounds!

notyummy · 07/02/2014 13:59

Kundry- fab results. You must be so pleased :-)

jackster- you look awesome in that pic. Well done Shaun T! You do know- like Bob- that he is gay? Not that should stop you letching of course....

60 Sec Promise done. It's pretty tough.....

Jacksterbear · 08/02/2014 13:44

notyummy, thanks. Smile Blush

(And yeah I know re Shaun T - I follow him on FB and his cuteness with his husband just makes me love him more!)

notyummy · 09/02/2014 18:17

No more trouble zones yesterday and Bobs Cardio Rev plus an 8 mile family walk today. My legs are quite tired tbh! Tomorrow will have a 40 minute potter on the cross trainer.

Jacksterbear · 11/02/2014 10:55

Kundry well done on your progress*.

notyummy I can just imagine what your version of "pottering" on the x-trainer would be like! Grin

Have moved onto the "beta cycle" of T25 (basically 5 weeks of level 2 workouts)...

Where is everyone else?

knottyhair · 11/02/2014 12:46

Hi I'm still here! Hadn't been able to do any Jillianing for a bit due to twingy back/cough/DS off ill etc. but managed Ripped L1 at the weekend, the usual 4.5 mile walk (round trip) to DD's music class yesterday, and a Shred L1 with weights in the cardio today. Planning on:

Ripped L2 tomorrow.
Thurs - walk into town and back (only a couple of miles but tough on the way back, uphill with the pushchair!)
Fri - Shred L2
Sat - hopefully Bob's Pure Strength

Can't do anything Sunday as we're leaving the house early to visit friends in Cambridgeshire, and then it's half term. I should still manage something most days but it depends on DS's social calendar!

Waves to everyone and notyummy, I don't know why but it's somehow reassuring that Tracey Anderson is annoying, I just thought she would be Grin. You can't beat a bit of JillBob.

EarSlaps · 12/02/2014 20:18

I'm still here too! Just felt ashamed at my lack of exercise the last two weeks with illness and workmen! Done Ripped L4 three times so far this week. One more go and I'm done.

Good going on T25 Jackster!

I reckon Tracey A would annoy me too. Lots of people love Davina but I think she'd annoy me. Might borrow one to try.

Jacksterbear · 12/02/2014 20:25

Good work knotty and Earslaps!

Davina got me started exercising, many years ago now. I like her, but tbh I think anyone used to JM workouts would find her stuff not challenging enough. I use my Davina DVDs now only when I've been ill or injured and need to take it easy!

EarSlaps · 13/02/2014 07:23

Oh well, I'll leave Davina well alone then Smile. I might get some Bob DVDs at some point but I'm just going to do a mix of Jillian DVDs for now. Went out for a run the other day too which made a nice change.
