Support/lust after our lads cycling in the Tour of Britain here!

We watched Team Sky and Brad win the Tour de France, we're watching Froome in the Vuelta (bless him) and we took an Ode to the Olympic Time Trial (which inspired them to win medals Grin).

And now (to fill the massive hole left by the superb Olympics and Paralympics) from Sunday we can watch Team Sky and Team GB cycling heros here in the UK!

I thought I'd start this thread for lusting supporting our team faves and having a laugh.

TOB starts this Sunday 9th Sept!

TOB website here

Stage 1 Ipswich to Norfolk - Live on ITV4 from 1.45pm with highlights at 8pm .

The rest of the stages are also live everyday on ITV4 with highlights at 7pm.

Just lost my post aargh.

Just watching TOB now. Derbyshire looks lovely.

DH and I laughing at the comment about Wiggo. 'As a TdF winner and gold medallist he gets invited to loads of events and if there is a beer on offer, he'll be there.'

Not sure that is strictly true but fully all the same.

Just finalized my plans for Friday, we will be on Caerphilly mountain as they go round it twice that should give us a chance to spot them as they go past in the blink of an eye. I would post my footage of Cav going past on the Alp d'Huez last year but my video is similarly blighted by the sound of a woman screaming with excitement Blush.

Lost, that sounds like the perfect spot. I was thinking a mountain side would be a good place to watch them!

Who was it who accidentally flashed the TdF with her boobs as they went past. Now that made me LOL!

Mountain is the only place to spot then unless you want to get whiplash!

Well it wasn't me with the boobs out, I behaved with much more decorum screamed like a teen at a one Direction concert

Anyone know what time they get to the end stage today? Am going to miss it going through my village as at work but hoping I might be able to see the end?

Slightly better result for Cav, but I expect he's just as pissed off, poor bloke. What's today's stage like for him? Getting unreasonably excited about our trip over on Friday, got my picnic sorted and my timetable - now just hoping for the weather.

Can you get quite close at the start does anyone know? We're planning to go to Powis Castle and I was wondering how much time to allow before they actually roll out - if we can wander about a bit then dc3 will be dropped off at school a tad earlier than normal so I can ogle men in lycra!

Todays stage is brilliant and I'm missing it, might get to wave at my house on the tv though.

Frosty - Powis Castle depart at 10.15/10.30, with a lap of the town. I am still thinking of going...but have to get a day off work.
I think you can go to the castle and park and watch from there. It sounds like the start of the race is good for getting autographs etc. !

Vintage - I think the end today will be around 3ish as it was yesterday. If you go on the TOB website (www.tourofbritain.com) there is a pdf document with estimated times of each stage and a list of the hotels they are staying in.

Argh, just saw this, I've missed it all and have been so close all day I passed a big fancy bus on the way home too, literally millimetres, didn't see anyone though but by your last post, the timings would suggest it was them.

No way Vintage. Gutted for you.

I am settled down ready to watch the stage. I know who gets the stage but I'm blanking it out until I've watched it.

Its about to start on ITV4+1 at 8pm if anyone has missed it.

VIntage - You are not having a good day love. Eurosport or watch it online on ITV.com???

If its any consolation, I'm 20mins into viewing as the Sky tv just broke and I've had to spend ages on the phone fixing the damn thing.

Back to the race. I can give you some headlines 1) Cav did a lead in so Luke Rowe could get some sprint points, bless and 2) This is the first tour where I've seen the cyclists have to go over a cattle grid.

yeeeeeeeeeesssssssss! Just finished watching the stage. At last Cav gets it. He never seems that bothered in the interviews but he so obviously is. I'm a Wiggo girl and I just love the way he lead them all in and got them to the end, job done lads. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Wasn't he just marvellous? That's exactly what I wanted to see on Sunday.

And Wiggo pedalling quietly uphill while everyone else was standing up and struggling was just brilliant - he looked like he was out for a gentle ride with the kids! DH and I want to see Wiggo and Contador going up mountains side by side now, just for the contrast in style. Wiggo is like a machine and Contador is beautiful, dancing away all the time like he hasn't got a care in the world.

Excitement is building in this household - we're out tonight so am going to sneak a little watch of the end of the stage live - I don't want it to be over but can't wait to see them on Friday.

What I love about Cav is that almost always the first thing he does is praise the team/lead out. I don't think I've ever seen a footballer say "yeah, it was great, but I couldn't have done it without so and so passing it to me".

Wiggo always looks like he's out for a Sunday afternoon pootle, 'tis poetry in motion.

Vintage I hope you have a better day - fingers crossed for another good day for Cav.

Evil - Contador also has one of the best ever competitor names.
Frosty - do post any race info when you watch today if you get chance.

Wiggo is just great. And the rest of team Sky. Love the team work so much.

Come on Cav you can be the race leader today. The lads will help you up the hills!
