DH would die for that. He kept making funny lewd noises at the competition prizes during the itv4 TdF broadcasts.

DH is talking about 2 more X-bikes in the garage.
We already have about 18 bikes in the garage, so what are 2 more?
I have threatened to buy another car if those proposed bikes apparate as expected.

Voles! Yes! Our garage is like that too! We bought our house especially for the integrated gagrage. DH sold his track bike and x-bike last year. Bought a new x-bike and 29er carbon fibre mtb in their place. Even DS is between balance bike and bike with pedals and has both in the garage at the mo. I have a mere three bikes.

I currently have 6 bikes. Only one is proper bike porn though.

The equation is n+1 where n = the bikes you have now. The BMC? too yellow and over-priced. Proper bike porn is when it gets to custom made/painted bikes (Serotta/Seven/Guru/Pegoretti/Vanilla) not stamped out in a Taiwanese factory for a brand (Specialized/BMC/Trek)

My bike porn is my custom build Bob Jackson audax bike. Once and for all the long back/short legs/big feet madness has been resolved.

Bike race - my ds has just moved up from balance bike too.

Phew, thought you'd all laugh at me! After avoiding exercise for the last 20 odd years, realised that unless I want to end up a fat diabetic with a heart condition, I'd really better start doing something, so about 4 weeks ago I started cycling to work.

Pashley nice - you need to perfect breezing along effortlessly and looking stylish now. Maybe with a baguette and some other middle class food shopping perched in your basket.

we had to sell the handmade bike we had as dd2 had outgrown it - it was a classic and there were older men at the club eyeing it up as they new the man and son that used to make them - the money went on rollers. I got lucky as got the handmade bike second/third hand of the owner of the bike shop.

The closest I have to a custom bike is one my mate reprinted with a silly pattern related to me! That bike is a super cheap one though (singlespeed mtb)

46cm is small but you could have something made - obviously more expensive. But have a look at Giant/Trek/Specialized womens ranges first and speak to a 'proper' bike shop if possible. You don't have to have a modern racer - a dutch bike or a single-speed bike may be better

Pedallleur thanks for that info I will have a look at those. I have got a Carrera road bike that I got through a cycle to work scheme. I got it from halfords and had a choice of two bikes in my frame size and budget. I wasn't sure if I'd get in to it so didn't want to spend a lot. We live at the top of a hill so the gears come in handy.
