LET'S FUCKING DO IT....!

OP posts:

I like your style monkey, but I couldn't have more children now (although I spent almost the first 3 years of DS3's life wanting another one) because I have this secret fear that it could be twin boys. Now, don't get me wrong, in itself that would be lovely, but I'm not sure I could cope with five boys.

peachLFDTsmuggler · 25/11/2011 18:42

Re. The checklist, everything but number 4, I am a opinionated and hobby with friends and collegues, but give me a noisy 12 year old South Londoner on a bus and I am an utter wus! My pathological fear of confrontation is legendary round here!

badger, am sure you'll get lots of support on the ante-natal choices threads but if anyone is horrid to you, run back into our lovin' arms for a hug. Really hope the next 3 weeks goes superfast for you!

runners, sorry about the hip, sending healing vibes!

Ang, I'll happily sponsor you!

runnerstipple · 25/11/2011 18:49

Thanks peach, am feeling better already! Plus its nearly wine o'clock.

Re the checklist, some year's ago I ran through Sainsbury's in Nine Elms, screeching at the top of my lungs for anyone to 'stop the man with the bright pink bag', which he had stolen from my trolley when I bent down to get something off the bottom shelf. No bugger stopped him, but he did throw it to the ground in the car park. Thank God it was a very obvious bag as it had my car keys, house keys, phone, money, entire life in it. The thing was I didn't stop to think about it, it was pure primal instinct; there was no buggery way I was going to let him get away with it.

Sorry, forgot to say earlier, congratulations to badger, hope all goes well.

MoshiMoshi · 25/11/2011 19:49

Good luck to the racers, ibbydibby, RunningAllDay, Squix, Jezabelle and Sonic. The first 20 ladies win a cash prize in Norwich ibby - you can do it!!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 25/11/2011 19:56

For hobby, read gobby!!!

K has been awake for much longer periods today and has fed more so we shall see what tonight brings!

Top tip for today. Do not listen to Joni Mitchell's "Little Green" while nursing newborn baby. Blub!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 25/11/2011 19:58

Good luck lovely racing folk

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 25/11/2011 20:14

Just dropping by quickly.

Badger congratulations and I hope the CVS goes as well as it can do.

Good luck for running people this weekend.

Went to sign on teh dotted line for my dress today - went with traditional ivory in teh end, but it is a non traditional type dress, plus it will have red petticoats!

Peach good luck for tonight, hope you get some zzzs

stickyLFDTfingers · 25/11/2011 20:16

Monkey I am in awe of you and your double shredding. You should be henceforth known as the shredmonkey (though I admit that would lose your lost consonants style humour). I am just delighted when I've done one. Tho I have to say, they seem to be making a difference already. Those ones where you are in a plank and twist round to get your obliques - I have a feeling I should be doing 100 of those a day...

Checklist

  • lots of them have red hair or red haired children - only a tiny bit
  • lots of them have girl children - yep!
  • they all have a social conscience - bleeding heart liberals united
  • they are not scared of speaking their minds especially to random strangers up to no good - ha Blush all the time. Wat Tyler tendencies have got me into trouble before...
  • they are generally averse to ironing and most housework (fanny you are just a freak). Hell yeah!

So apart from the 7 minute miles and whatnot, my running's coming on a treat! Grin

peach Grin those hormones! I got addicted to the Gilmore Girls while bfing DD1, all that mother-daughter stuff got me right there . I love a bit of Grant Lee too. Crap telly and bfing are an awesome combination, loved it!

futurity · 25/11/2011 20:31

Checklist

  • lots of them have red hair or red haired children - nope
  • lots of them have girl children - nope
  • they all have a social conscience - hmmmm..probably
  • they are not scared of speaking their minds especially to random strangers up to no good - YES
  • they are generally averse to ironing and most housework - Yes

:)

I just clicked on the advert on this thread to Barrington Sports and bought my new running shoes for super bargain price...now do I have them now or wrap them up for Xmas?!

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 20:39

ok the girl children was wrong - but lots of you seem to have families which are all boys or all girls (not all, but quite a few?)

MoshiMoshi · 25/11/2011 20:43

Checklist time:

  • lots of them have red hair or red haired children - No
  • lots of them have girl children - 3 of 4 so yes
  • they all have a social conscience - Yes
  • they are not scared of speaking their minds especially to random strangers up to no good - Yes (DH blames my Hong Kong genes)
  • they are generally averse to ironing and most housework - No
PLUS you have forgotten:
  • they are generally short - Yes (all 5'2.5" of me)!
rhetorician · 25/11/2011 20:52

yes, short - forgot that - I'm just a smidge under 5'3" myself

only 3 of the 5 apply to me

perhaps we should add, - they love a random nonsensical survey and will respond with seriousness to it...

bonkersLFDT20 · 25/11/2011 20:56

bonkersLFDT20 · 25/11/2011 20:56

Oh, I do have just boys. 2 of the little beggers.

bonkersLFDT20 · 25/11/2011 20:59

badger quiet congrats from me. I say, thank goodness for genetic testing, which gives you knowledge and choices.
I had an amnio with DS2 due to my age (I was 37). It was grim, but worth it.

cherry how exciting to hear of your wedding!

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 21:00

where's fanny tonight?

monkeyLFDTwench · 25/11/2011 21:05

Yay to shred monkey! (which my phone has changed to shred inlet Hmm). You should have seen and heard me, I was making the kind of noises I last made in labour, that kind of "oooohhh, mooooooo" sound. And my hair! I looked like a wild woman!

Just measured my waist - OMFG. Am truly ashamed of myself. I need a good arse kicking - will any of you oblige?

Rhet I get quite a bit of sympathy for having three boys, but I just can't imagine it any other way Smile. It's quite nice to have a little single sex gang. Though ds1 would have loved a sister and was really pleased to go to a mixed school just so he could mix with girls (the little charmer!)

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 21:10

speaking as someone who is now never going to have a son, I think 3 boys sounds great!

stickyLFDTfingers · 25/11/2011 21:18

can I just say - our very own sfx was in conversation today with St Delia of Tarts today and HIGNFY just showed that deers in Richmond park link she showed us. She clearly has her fingers on the pulse. More awe is necessary, i think (reminded of a John Wayne anecdote there).

Hope fanny's not still trying to get her girls to bed...

MoshiMoshi · 25/11/2011 21:36

monkey - what is your waist measuring? Is it really terrible? Would it help if you thought about how dangerous a large waist measurement is to your overall health? Nobody died from a fat bum whereas a thick waist is indicative of fatty organs and worth working on. Or is that a bit too morose to contemplate...?

monkeyLFDTwench · 25/11/2011 21:47

Is not good Moshi, unfortunately I've always had a curvy figure, but had a good waist at least - now I fear I'm getting apple shaped. I need to sort this, as I have a strong family history of diabetes (my mum and her mum) and I had gestational diabetes first time round. Am a bit fed up with it as I'm not drinking and really trying, but it's not happening at the moment. Sigh. Will have to redouble my efforts.

bonkersLFDT20 · 25/11/2011 21:48

Fanny has probably ironed all the keys on her computer and can't type! Either that or she's had her account suspended because of her foul language!

rhetorician · 25/11/2011 21:51

monkey quadruple shred? yikes! how many miles a week do you run? upping mileage even at slow paces (if you have time, which with 3 boys you probably don't) would help - some speedwork can kick the metabolism into action too

I would lose weight quickly enough if I just cut our the bits of sugary crap I eat (e.g. today mincepie and part of mars bar Blush) cos I reckon these total at least 300 cals of empty nutrition a day

ibbydibby · 25/11/2011 21:57

thanks for good wishes for Sunday. Am getting just a little nervous. Looks like DS1 at least will now be left at home, he has been off school today with high temp, headache, general lethargy etc etc Sad. He has 2 mock exams on Monday so will be doing my best to cossett and pamper him over the weekend.

Tomorrow off to help my DM at her church bazaar. She is member of flower guild and they are having a stall. There is no rota - other members are coming and going but she has just said she (and therefore I) will be there for the duration with break for lunch.

Moshi no chance of cash prize for me though you might well have done. REally wanted to do it in club vest and shorts, but turned rather chilly so cropped ron hills are in order I think. Feeling stupidly worried.

Good luck for Sunday running, squix, jez and sonic
