I ended up doing 10 miles this afternoon rather than this morning, and it was a bit heavy-legged and plodding too but I'm blaming too much alcohol, too little sleep and the residual effects of giving blood (
given that it was 10 days ago!)
DrNo, I have done the Abbey Dash before and the Leeds half several times too and although it would be great to run with you, I just can't face Kirkstall Road ever again! I have to travel down it every single day on the bus to work so I know it far too intimately
Could you be persuaded to do the Bradford half as well? It's in October - it's very hilly.
Driving, I'd say 1x3 but I'm just guessing.
Vicar, sorry you are still struggling. Can you stretch it out at all?
Fishie, I had achilles tendonitis so I'm not sure it's the same thing - I had to rest completely for about 3 weeks then build up gradually, with lots of rest, icing and stretching.
Cestlavie that does indeed sound like the perfect run. I've had a couple like that where I actually took photos of the river and the woods on my phone - it helps remind me of the freedom and joy of being outside when I'm stuck in an office or boring meeting.
My DH hates running (he thinks it is boring) but he goes mountain biking so weekends are often a logistical nightmare, especially as both DSs have football to fit in too.
Debi, I do similar things to try and squeeze in a run without impacting too much on the family - today DH had to go into work, so he took the boys with him and I ran to meet them. This is also why I like running home from work, as I get my exercise out of the way before I've even collected the kids from school.
As the boys are out playing football in the garden I'm going to try and fit in a few stretches and stomach exercises now (will then lie on the sofa and eat chocolate later).
Happy running.
