Part 10 of our long running thread.
I'm still putting my money on a spring GE.
The tory slash and burn of the UK is right on track.
Bon chance my friends!

TBH we are singing from the same hymn sheet here.

I just remember the lead up to 1992 and the sure fire certainty Lab would win and then didn't...

I also think that many many people will still believe the mantra that "Labour would be worse..." i hear this all the time, along with "they are all the same, i wont be voting..."

That's the latest attack vector for the CCHQ bots. You see it quite regularly - "they're all the same". They can't say anything positive about the Tories (obviously), so they try to say that Labour would be just as bad in an effort to get those who have always been Tory robots to vote the same again. You can see these posts regularly on any politics thread.

The worrying thing is that you expect so many people to be so thick that they'll actually fall for this bullshit, along with the "they know what a woman is" bullshit - it's there to divide, and deflect away for the corrupt catastrophuq that the Tories are.

DuncinToffee · 12/04/2023 20:48

It's already happening on the active brexit threads, the what about Labour not stating they will reverse it.

And c&p is posting.

borntobequiet · 12/04/2023 21:45

I don’t think c&p is taken seriously any more by anyone.

Peregrina · 12/04/2023 22:16

I remember the Brexit Arms, although I only strayed in there once by mistake. When they were asked about the benefits of brexit they quickly started crying about how they were being bullied.

Oh yes! How dare you bully me by asking reasonable questions!

DuncinToffee · 12/04/2023 23:00

I mostly remember they used lots of emojis and flags.

And some dodgy bloke who hadn't lived in the UK for years.

Alexandra2001 · 13/04/2023 06:54

The one that annoyed me the most was someone who claimed they lived in Brussels, with the other half working for NATO, then retired to Cornwall (very close to where i am) ... odious poster... & many clashes under a different user name.

But the biggest Brexit bullshitter is Braverman, Erasmus student in Paris, then made damn sure no other young person can do similar.

Millions of workers in Britain will be about £1,300 worse off a year due to Brexit, leading experts have said.

They highlighted the blow to people’s income, compared with what it would likely have been if the UK had not quit the European Union, its biggest trading partner.

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 20:31

That all bodes well for Eurovision

pointythings · 13/04/2023 20:44

Oh I'd love to see the fireworks if any of the Eurovision artists fail to get visas.

For some reason I am reminded of Zola Budd.

You can bet your bottom dollar that TPTB will find a way to rig it so there isn't any embarrassment. Remember, this is now a corrupt banana monarchy. Same way Raab will be protected from any court action over his unlawful actions last year.

One rule for us, one rule for them.

I will laugh my arse off.

I can see them trying to rig it but they do lack competence so rigging it successfully could be an issue.

Thing is, as so many Brexit voters are retired, 'workers' being worse off won't affect them, so they won't give a shit.

What an utter world beating shit show of complete incompetence this govt is… but that’s 13 years of civil service being mismanaged and drained of funds.

And what complete morons are we voters for putting them there in the first place.

Though it feels like Blair/Brown were the last competent government. There’s been little by way of effective opposition as Miliband was not very impressive (wrong brother IMO) and JC was just another arrogant politician high on his fanbase. May felt like she actually cared about the country but a terrible leader, then of course it went downhill from there.

where oh where are the leaders we need?

We get the leaders we deserve. And as long as you are willing to let it slide when they are shafting "the others", that's all it takes.

"When they came..."

This one is truly U.K. government 2023.

promote ukranian orchestra on government website as evidence of U.K. support for Ukranian artists.

Refuse them visas to enter the country.

Truly, this is the Brexitannian utopia in a nutshell. And definitely what the BeLeavers 100% knew they were voting for, as they kept telling us.

@prettybird - what are your views on the current news in Scotland - with Nicola Sturgeon's jewellery apparently now under investigation and a video of her telling the group leading the SNP that the party finances were in a great state and they should shut up with their complaints and resignations over lack of transparency (one month before the police started to investigate those finances over was it £700,000 gone missing)? For years you've been telling us on this thread that the SNP government and Scottish nationalism are somehow different and superior to the England-based Brexit disaster. Is that still your view?

SerendipityJane · 16/04/2023 10:32

No one - literally no one - in tech is talking about this. Possibly driven by the fact that the UKs data protection laws are already a joke.

I note the weasel "could" in the headline. I "could" lose 3 stone and pull a 20 year old. And I am sure some people here "could" donate all their goods to the Conservative Party. In much the same way the Telegraph "could" be a decent newspaper.

Spam callers could be fined £17.5 million in post-Brexit clampdown

The new law would also reduce the number of ‘consent pop-ups’ people see online that ask for permission to collect data

I think this is a strange misrepresentation of @prettybird ’s views and wonder why you’re doing it.
