That's lovely DGR. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is also highly recommended.
On other matters: One of my best friends came round for dinner last night. She's 70 odd, and as it happens, a trans woman, having transititioned sometime in the 90s. Long before it became a thing, in other words.
Because she had a bit of a profile at the time, she was doorstepped by a snapper from one of the nationals part way through the transition process. Thankfully pre social media.
That was then. I asked her about the current trans agenda. She is horrified by it all, ( fussing about pronouns, put on a dress and you're a woman, etc etc) and says it's just insane and also diminishes her own profoundly difficult yet ultimately private experience.
She said despite what she went through, it was a personal thing she had to do. She feels there are far more pressing and important things facing our country and our planet, and all this marginal posturing is just a sideshow, a dangerous distraction.
Then we spent the rest of the evening talking a the fallout from Brexit, the woeful state of the Labour Party, and funny stuff my cats do.
Sadly and ironically though, I can see how the current agenda also undermines anyone genuinely needing to confront what she did and, oddly, trivialises it.
