Brexit - 90 day rule for UK citizens in the EU

Does anyone know how this will work? I'm resident in the EU but afaik the 90 day rule still applies - or is this different within Schengen because I can't see how it can be applied? Living relatively close to several borders mean we often pop over* to another country- I don't have an EU passport though.

*not at the moment obviously!

Croatia: You can only use campers in registered campings, or stop and register yourself at the local police station but you need to check the local rules. People I know have been fined for just stopping in non dedicated areas.
Besides that- it’s breathtakingly beautiful and camping spots are very cheap, usually in nice coastal areas, so I’d recommend it nonetheless

From what I know, the non-EU citizens requiring visa get them for the whole of Schengen.
However, should you decide to move to another country, you'd have to have a resident permit now and be formally registered, unlike before, when you could move.

The 90-day rule applies to visitors who are NOT resident in the EU, doesn't it?

You need to look into what the rules are for a non-EU citizen who is resident in an EU country and wishes to visit another EU country. It';s not a new thing, there were plenty of people from outside the EU in this situation before Brexit.

I suspect that, in practice, for short visits no one will give you grief. Just bring proof of residency in your EU country (eg the ID card many EU countries issue to residents, even if not citizens).

Where it can get tricky is for work visas: French persons can work however long they want in Germany (eg long secondments, consulting work etc) without a visa, and viceversa. A Brit residing in France, I'm not sure.
