I got a text to this effect just now from tbe passport service. I know it's a kosher message because I had a message from the same number about my DD's Uk passport application recently. I apparently need a new passport if I want to go to the EU after 31 December 2020.

Firstly, fuck off you cock wombles because I also have an Irish passport so you can stick it up your Brexity arse.

Secondly, do Brexiteers know they have to buy their way into the EU with a new passport.

Thirdly, see Firstly and fuck off.

The FBR took ages . We got ours for dd just before Covid hit and then had to wait a while before their passport application system got back up and running. But they were pretty efficient once it got going. They must have masses of applications to go through and they were pretty good at talking to me when I asked questions.
HM passport service could learn a lot.

I didn’t think it was because of Brexit - just bringing us into line with most (all?) other countries which don’t allow carrying forward of unexpired months?

The carry forward of expired months was a concession allowed when we were in the EU. Needing to have six months left on your passport is most definitely a consequence of Brexit.

Pain in the arse that your passport has to have 6 months on it, even more a pain in the arse that it has to be less than 10 years old.

Other countries for example Australia, your passport only has to be valid for the duration of your stay.
