I voted remain and would still prefer to remain, although have accepted we are leaving. So, no.

FarTooSkinny · 25/09/2020 21:54

I voted remain but have now changed my mind. The British government have done a magnificent job. It is all so much better than the promises made during the referendum. I can't see how they could have done a better job

TheSultanofPingu · 25/09/2020 22:50

I needed a laugh tonight.

KenDodd · 28/09/2020 09:14

No. Voted Remain and haven't voted Tory.

None of this shit show is on me. Brexit and Tory voters can own their mess.

JuiceBogTrotter · 15/10/2020 21:22

I voted remain and still would.
I bet the government are delighted they can blame the coming crisis on covid, though.

Pan2 · 15/10/2020 21:30

Nope, remainer then and now.

This talentless, criminal gang are wrecking our country and whoever had voted tory or brexit is directly responsible for it.

flashbac · 16/10/2020 18:17

If only leavers could be last in the queues for food, fuel, medicine etc, come Jan 21.

KenDodd · 16/10/2020 22:28

I know. I wish there was a way that only Leave voters could suffer the consequences of their shit decision. Happy for them to keep all the benefits for themselves as well when the sunlit uplands are delivered.

Rapunzathepenguin · 17/10/2020 02:24

@Cacacoisfarraige Absolutely. After insisting it couldn't be coincidence that my mother kept singing all those Irish songs when I was little, finally discovered the great-great-grandfather on the family tree, but very sad that it's too many generations ago to claim a passport.

Even before that discovery I was always horrified by just how little most English people know about ANY Irish, Scottish, or Welsh history. (Though to be fair, they mainly don't know much about English history either, unless it involves the sex life of Henry VIII or singing WWII songs while waving a Union Flag and eating bad sandwiches.)

I think, and hope, Ireland as a whole will do very well out of this English nonsensical decision in the long run. Might be a bit rocky in the north for a while though....

Miljea · 08/11/2020 10:46

Well, this political landscape has changed, hasn't it?

Seems Biden isn't a Brexiteer....

Clavinova · 09/11/2020 10:27

Well, this political landscape has changed, hasn't it?

Has he said anything different from Nancy Pelosi? And despite what you might claim, I can't imagine for a moment that Boris Johnson wants any trouble in NI.

Peregrina · 09/11/2020 11:04

I can't imagine that Boris Johnson wants anything but an easy life for Boris Johnson.

Ihaveyourback · 09/11/2020 11:17

No still very happy we are leaving! More happier actually given how much we would have had to pay millions into the 'coronavirus fund' for southern Europe when our businesses desperately need all the help we can give them now.
As every day goes by it becomes more and more obvious to me how lucky we are to leave. It is becoming ever more federalist by the day. Europe will always be our friends and allies, but I believe strongly we are better placed as independent country.

bellinisurge · 09/11/2020 15:27

"I can't imagine for a moment that Boris Johnson wants any trouble in NI."
In the same way as he didn't want to get caught shagging someone else while his wife was having cancer treatment.
He doesn't want to fuck up but, if it happens, it's not his responsibility.

Clavinova · 09/11/2020 15:40

bellinisurge
Boris Johnson and Marina Wheeler separated June/July 2018 - MW was diagnosed with cancer in May 2019 - 'cancer-free' diagnosis in August 2019.

bellinisurge · 09/11/2020 15:46

Oh, thank god he's never had an extra marital affair. For a minute there I thought he was a shiftless untrustworthy dick wipe. 😂😂

Clavinova · 09/11/2020 15:58

bellinisurge
And you have complained about being called a Remainer and a rat.

Clavinova · 09/11/2020 16:02

bellinisurge
No need for me to quote any examples of your posts on the Brexit Arms after all.

WorksTheDinerAllDay · 09/11/2020 16:05

Voted remain. Would do so again.

I find it fascinating how strong the cognitive dissonance is amongst leavers. The UK was one of the worst hit countries economically by Covid and yet from some of the comments here you'd think that Europe is begging us for bailouts. Hilarious.

If we no deal on January I'd like to think that leavers would take ownership of the mess they made and get volunteering in foodbanks etc. But they won't.

bellinisurge · 09/11/2020 16:36

@Clavinova what is the problem with calling our PM a shiftless dick wipe?

Clavinova · 09/11/2020 16:48

bellinisurge

"I tried reaching out on here" ... "I really tried."

Peregrina · 09/11/2020 16:53

Stick to the facts, bellini, the facts. You can call Johnson a serial adulterer who has been sacked twice for lying. Whether that makes him a shiftless dick wipe is of course, a matter of opinion.

Ihaveyourback · 09/11/2020 17:22

www.consilium.europa.eu/en/policies/coronavirus/covid-19-economy/

This outlines the enormous covid bailout fund set up by the EU with major countries (mainly wealthy northern european - Germany, Sweden, Holland etc ) having to pay millions and millions to assist the southern countries. It has caused the most almighty row, one of the biggest in the history of the EU, and it is still continuing today.

The link you can see the breakdown of how much will go to each country. I might add that as one of the largest contributors to the EU the UK would have been footing an enormous bill - and additionally trying to help our own businesses that were badly affected by the virus!

You can clearly see that even those countries that were very badly affected - such as France do not feature on the list of handouts.

I have no doubt there would have been utter outrage as we battle to keep our own economy afloat, we are then expected to bail out 3/4 of Europe, most of whom were nowhere near as affected as us!

So no I don't miss the grave injustices, the constant one way money train nor the endless interference. I am extremely happy to be free of all of it works and clearly you have no grasp on how this things work.

Ihaveyourback · 09/11/2020 17:24

I may add I already work in a foodbank and have done for the last six years, I don't expect to see a bigger increase because of brexit, but we have seen a huge rise in need after covid for the last six months.
