Exit poll

Con majority of 68.

65 seats regarded technically as still too close to call. But that could mean an even bigger majority.

Blyth Valley has seen a 10% swing to the cons in line with the exit poll. 1st shock of the night

Can't bear to watch the news for at least a week. So sad and disappointed

RedToothBrush · 13/12/2019 05:22

I can't see Boris Johnson lasting 5 years.

Why not?

Didn't we think that about Trump lasting a term?

OP posts:
tobee · 13/12/2019 05:22

Yeah I'm sure most people of heard of Owen Jones. It's all his fault! HmmAnd I say that as someone who can't fucking stand him!

BigChocFrenzy · 13/12/2019 05:23

"They weren’t representative though."

Do you mean only majority viewpoints should demonstrate
or just that a demonstration does not mean politicians have to grant their wishes ?

I agree with the latter

Labour voters in 2015 GE were 70% Remain
as were 80% of their ½ million+ members

On a 52:48 vote, it is only fair that one party represents each viewpoint

prettybird · 13/12/2019 05:23

I choose to ignore the Brexity gloaters. With fast moving threads, it means fewer posts to read Wink

tobee · 13/12/2019 05:24

Maybe Johnson could last 5 years. But can he be bothered?

Maybe Johnson could last 5 years. But can he be bothered?

It’ll take him a lot less than five years to fuck up spectacularly.

Ah but Cen you forget, at your cost, that if it doesn't go as plan, the Conservatives can be a nasty bunch.

BovaryX · 13/12/2019 05:28

Sorry to see Dennis Skinner lose his seat.

BigChocFrenzy · 13/12/2019 05:29

No vote is permanent

Labour were reasonable to take the side of 70% of their voters, but that meant alienating much of the 30%

However, if they'd backed Brexit in the HoC, they'd have been defeated even more heavily
They had no good options - other than to have won in 2015 and spared the country this Brexit Horror Show

Labour's problem is that none of their 3 groups will compromise with each other,
while the Tories will agree to anything to stay in power - generally because of money.

Sostenueto · 13/12/2019 05:29

Bovary in 6 months time when our food is rotting in the fields because of the mass Exodus and absence of EU workers to lift the crops and the NHS implodes with lack of staff, lack of funds, and your elderly relatives are unable to get care because no EU carers are available and the expected lifespan starts to drop ( which it already is) then come back on here and see if your mirror has cracked.

BestIsWest · 13/12/2019 05:29

Heard the exit poll and went straight to bed. Couldn’t cope with it.

My lovely MP has been re-elected in Gower thank God. A tiny glimmer of hope with PC seats being held too.

TheMustressMhor · 13/12/2019 05:30

Oh bugger.

SNP cannot now get to 50 seats so Ruth Davidson will not have to get her kit off and jump into the icy waters of Loch Ness.

I once nearly skidded on black ice right into Loch Ness. One of my most spectacular and terrifying moments behind the wheel on the A82.

RedToothBrush · 13/12/2019 05:31

LD have another one Caithness - Jamie Stone.

No I've not heard of him either too.

Nope. Your end of days Armageddon nonsense didn’t sell. Do you understand that constitutuencies that have been Labour for a hundred years have gone Conservative? Your slogans have no resonance. Labour have been decimated. Try to come up with an analysis that doesn’t involve insulting voters.

RedToothBrush · 13/12/2019 05:33

No vote is permanent

In a democracy...

Sostenueto · 13/12/2019 05:33
