Westminstenders: The Undecideds

Apparently the pollsters are nervous.

There are far more undecided than there have been at this stage in recent general election.

This makes it a hugely fine line between a hung parliament and a massive tory majority.

The weather on Thursday isn't expected to be nice and this could affect turnout. The blue corner are particularly nervous about this, but don't forget those postal votes.

Whatever happens on Thursday at least this election campaign is nearly over. And that can't be a bad thing.

And Christmas is in a fortnight so we can all drown our sorrows or celebrate in style.

You always have time to restock the drinks if you end up resort to them on Thursday

(New election special thread on Thursday rather than bunging up Westminstenders BTW)

Child at University reported that the polling station was totally quiet ....
but that was in the middle of the afternoon in a residential area

The second one reads I have done my duty

But for which Victory ?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/12/2019 16:52

I did Peregrina, but 3 numbers and two people was a bit much for him. I sent a text back to hq instead Grin They wouldn't actually have chased her as I'm part of the local team. I just didn't want them to think I'd raised someone who didn't care.

'Ello 'ello! Long time no post (and no, I've not caught up with the threads!). I've been busy moving, renovating, flu-ing and puppying. Generally trying to keep my anxiety at bay - hence dropping off these for a bit. Hope you are all in fine fettle?

Thought I'd pop by to say I've voted Labour as it's the only way to keep out the Tories. My friend just called and said apparently Twitter is predicting a Labour win!

Peregrina · 12/12/2019 21:34

I will not count any chickens until they hatch.

The Tories got rattled in my constituency and started trying to ship activists in this evening. Which they need. I was telling with one Tory who had been on from 9 am to 1 pm. I went back at 3 and he was still there although I believe he had taken a lunch break and then he was being taken to another polling station. So no Tory presence for the last hour that I was one. We had a full rota of volunteers.

Jux · 13/12/2019 03:10

And there's the oh-so-charming Javid STILL slagging off Labour instead of answering the questions. So gladAndrew Neil just bulldozes over twats like that.

OK, just in case there is someone with a modicum of political influence lurking: we would think far more highly of, and put much more trust in, MPs who didn't waste our time slagging off the other sides. Just answer the damn questions, we are your CONSTITUENTS and deserving of truth. We know when you're being slippery and telling lies. We don't generally vote for you because we think you're truthful or have integrity, w know that, with one or two exceptions, that you are not and have not. We vote because of your party's stated policies, even when we despise you.

Peregrina · 13/12/2019 06:08

Nationally, no chickens could be counted but in my Constituency of Oxford West and Abingdon, the LibDems won by 9843, votes, a massive increase on the 816 last time. I was at the Count and we could tell that she had won by about 3 pm, but not by that much.
