Westminstenders: The Undecideds

Apparently the pollsters are nervous.

There are far more undecided than there have been at this stage in recent general election.

This makes it a hugely fine line between a hung parliament and a massive tory majority.

The weather on Thursday isn't expected to be nice and this could affect turnout. The blue corner are particularly nervous about this, but don't forget those postal votes.

Whatever happens on Thursday at least this election campaign is nearly over. And that can't be a bad thing.

And Christmas is in a fortnight so we can all drown our sorrows or celebrate in style.

You always have time to restock the drinks if you end up resort to them on Thursday

(New election special thread on Thursday rather than bunging up Westminstenders BTW)

If people vote to have sick little children lying on hospital floors, then that's what they'll get

  • no use crying afterwards if it's your kid
CendrillonSings · 10/12/2019 15:32

But the point is that Boris Johnson is just seen as a bit of a rascal and a bit posh.

Well, in my view being a terrorist sympathiser is about a million times worse than being a posh rascal. It amazes me that anyone could consider that a controversial opinion.

BigChocFrenzy · 10/12/2019 15:32

One of the greatest hindrances to democracy in the UK is the instinct of so many (mostly English) people to tug the forelock to those they think posh

to trust them over anyone else
and to excuse them almost anything

ListeningQuietly · 10/12/2019 15:36

Well, in my view being a terrorist sympathiser is about a million times worse than being a posh rascal.
So agreeing to get somebody beaten up
cheating on multiple partners
having a child as a result of an affair
burning £50 notes in front of homeless people
leaving wife and four kids
wrecking restaurants while drunk
lying repeatedly on TV about documents on the table
getting sacked from multiple jobs for lying
letting a woman rot in prison due to your lies
causing other people to lose their jobs due to your lies
is fine
but sympathising with an overseas group is not Hmm

BigChocFrenzy · 10/12/2019 15:36

BJ isn't just a posh rascal and a congenital liar

He is Britain's Trump, possibly Britain's Orbán
He and his gang are the greatest peacetime risk to UK democracy that we have faced

BigChocFrenzy · 10/12/2019 15:38

This is how fascism takes over Britain
Under someone posh

Do you have any idea what atrocities those groups have committed and are still committing? Yes, supporting them is infinitely worse than having an affair unless you have literally no moral sense whatsoever.

ListeningQuietly · 10/12/2019 15:46

Do you have any idea what atrocities those groups have committed and are still committing?
I am not defending the groups
I am pointing out that Corbyn himself has done bugger all ever, for good or bad

Johnson on the other hand has done masses of harm to individuals and groups
directly and personally

DGRossetti · 10/12/2019 15:46

Once again, I find Cendrillons concern for the welfare of others abroad over our own citizens touching in the extreme. Much like their concern for the Jewish community over the Muslim community. Much as they try hard to pretend they are a rabid Tory, they let the mask slip with their concern for people other than themselves. They are a true socialist, and I salute them and will try to follow their inspirational example to become a better person.

Ive heard sudocrem might be good for severe burns, never tried it though Grin

JustAnotherPoster00 · 10/12/2019 15:56

I think Cendrillion has probably been more successful in getting people to decide to vote Labour than I have on these threads Grin thank you for your help comrade, solidarity [fist emoji]

ArseDarkly · 10/12/2019 16:03

unless you have literally no moral sense whatsoever.

You mean the sort of person who thinks lies and smears are all part of the game and defends the people carrying them out? Who labels someone a 'terrorist sympathiser' for trying to promote peace? Who defends a racist bullying psychopath to the hilt, no matter how low they have to go? That sort of person?

That truly is an abject person Cendrillon

ListeningQuietly · 10/12/2019 16:04

Justanother
I have to admit that posters like Cendrillon have assisted my nose holding significantly Wink

I shall be voting tactically for the long term good of the country
(which I happen to believe does not involve Corbyn, Johnson or Swinson Grin )

How do you stand for council elections?

WeshMaGueule · 10/12/2019 16:39

Maria Gatland, former IRA member, is a current Tory councillor in Croydon. ALL TORIES ARE THEREFORE TERRORIST SYMPATHISERS.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Gatland

Stinkyeddie · 10/12/2019 16:53

These IRA rumours are pathetic
Only 1 party is in bed with a political wing of a terrorist group and that's the tory/dup clusterfuck

The next voting intention you will see from @YouGov will be with our MRP at 10PM.

The computer is still calculating these final numbers (even we don't know yet!) so anything you see beforehand is a lie.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 10/12/2019 17:07

Well, Jeremy Corbyn “meetings” with people from various terrorist and other groups was his attempts at “peace talks” and calming the situation. He didn’t support them financially.

Boris on the other hand, as foreign secretary, approved the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia knowing they were being used to target civilians. Continues to support the sale of arms and munitions to Saudi Arabia, who fund and supply terrorist groups.

So yes, I’ll support the guy who attempts peace talks over the guy who funds atrocities. Fine by me Smile

But point this out to certain Tory posters and all you’ll get is
a) silence, because they can’t admit they don’t have a problem with brown children being killed, as long as they personally stay rich
b) A blank refusal to believe that Saudi supported terrorists train terrorists who commit attacks on British soil (because just if they don’t believe it, it’s not real?)
c) confused whirring

4cats2kids · 10/12/2019 17:10

I agree with @longtimelurkerhelen It’s like watching the rise of the nazis. I’m terrified of a Tory majority. I have two kids on lifesaving meds and there is still no guarantee we won’t crash out with a no deal if Boris gets in.
