From the school cuts website, at my sons school under the Tories they’ll loose £440/per student but under labour they’d gain £163 per student.
If I hadn’t already made up my mind that would swing it for me.
The school has been marvellous at dealing with the cuts so far and we have a very active PTA but there’s nothing left to cut.

i'm tired
had a very difficult time last night
we have started sarcastically calling it Corridor Medicine, cause you know... everyone's always in the corridor. including the very very unwell
i'm upset about a patient and have to go back to work shortly. see if she survived. on 52 hours this week, miss my kids.

stay positive people
tories got nothing. totally panicking. they reeled out pages and pages of smear stories last time.they have nothing to say this is all they have. people are sick of it and see through it.
I don't know a single person under 45 voting for tories
never ever known so many people campaigning or engaged or voting
polls are lying

tobee · 05/12/2019 17:27

Don't know how you manage to do it squid and then take the time to come on here and post uplifting comments to us! Smile

Alsohuman · 05/12/2019 17:29

Thanks squid - for everything. 💐

squid4 · 05/12/2019 17:30

i'm not sleeping very well in the day at the moment. end up reading stupid election stuff instead it's a bit depressing. BUT gotta keep on right. despair/ getting demoralised will be what loses this. (I have my moments)

MockersFactCheckMN · 05/12/2019 17:33

Any mention of Annunziata Rees-Mogg makes me recall David Cameron's advice to change her name to Nancy Mogg in case people thought she might be posh.

(Why Nancy? Why not Annie, or Nunzie?)

ListeningQuietly · 05/12/2019 17:36

Flowers for Squid4

DGRossetti · 05/12/2019 17:37

(Why Nancy? Why not Annie

too common [?]

, or Nunzie?)

too foreign [?]

BigChocFrenzy · 05/12/2019 17:40

Squid 💐
Do try to prioritise sleep over canvassing - put on your own oxygen mask first, before helping others
I hope your patient is Ok

squid4 · 05/12/2019 17:44

I'm not canvassing, I can't do anything when I'm nights... DP is doing some. I talk to people at work if appropriate (I meet thousands of people)
kids are crying snotty tears all over me now... I am too tired to mother...

MockersFactCheckMN · 05/12/2019 17:54

...plus Nunzie Mogg is a bit In the Night Garden. ....Ooooh, we're back with David Cameron, aka IgglePiggle.

BaloneyInMySlacks · 05/12/2019 18:12

What is this about in the Conservative manifesto?

We will ensure we have updated and equal Parliamentary boundaries, making sure that every vote counts the same – a cornerstone of democracy.

I'd not noticed anybody making a particular fuss about constituency boundaries? Is it something valid or are they setting up gerrymandering future elections? What are the issues?

Been lurking, trying to keep up with these threads on my phone - usually failing and have to skip a few pages, but I appreciate every single post including those I disagree with.

I have thought long and hard about voting, and have come to the inescapable conclusion that - drumroll - I care more about the future than the past. So I am voting in the hope of staying in the EU, because for me, that is the single most important issue right now.

Our continued membership, or not, of the EU is going to determine so much of our future prosperity and opportunities, not only for the next month/year/5 years, but for generations to come. It's importance can not be overstated.

I am not going to try to defend some of the wilder policies of the party I have voted for (put it in the post yesterday), because in any other election I might vote for a different party.

But I just can't see past Brexit, right now.

I'm not giving out marks for past performance - I'm voting to influence the future of this country.

ChristmassySpice · 05/12/2019 18:14

Hugs Squid I wish you weren't so tired. I wish you weren't up against the impossible every day. And I soooooo wish the tide will turn this time next week!

My lovely local GP of 30 years warned me in 2010 what would happen if Tories got in. He was (at the time) due to retire in 2 years. He left a month after the election result. I still see him out and about. He says he would never have chosen a different career path, but he wishes desperately that it wasn't so shit. Especially near the end.

ChristmassySpice · 05/12/2019 18:18

Sorry, that should read 2015 not 2010

Tanith · 05/12/2019 18:18

Tom Corbyn's jew-hating and jew-baiting go back to his student days, and he recently showed nothing has changed with his personal attacks on Tracey-Ann Oberman, who is not an Israeli.

He had a twitter spat with Tracy-Ann after she posted a photo of Jeremy. Let's not get carried away.

So far, all I can find is that he performed in a play at college that a student group claimed was anti-semitic. The college denied this.

WeshMaGueule · 05/12/2019 18:23

Oh do fuck off with Piers Corbyn. I hold no responsibility whatsoever for whatever batshit opinions my siblings might hold. Fortunately, they're all pretty right-thinking...

ListeningQuietly · 05/12/2019 18:24

Baloney
We will ensure we have updated and equal Parliamentary boundaries, making sure that every vote counts the same – a cornerstone of democracy.
This is part of the Boundary Review that was started in 2010 but stopped by the Libdems who realised that updated boundaries and a reduction to 600 seats would result in permanent Tory Government

Friends who worked on it remain livid with the LibDems for binning their efforts
but unless it comes in with PR
I can see exactly why its in the Tory manifesto

MockersFactCheckMN · 05/12/2019 18:30

The biased Tory boundary gerrymander is straight out of the Republicans' playbook, and they are also starting to follow their practice of deregistering anyone who might not vote for them with their proposals for photo-ID.

BaloneyInMySlacks · 05/12/2019 18:37

There's a current (September 2018) recommendation on the Boundary Commission website. Is it that?
