Welcome to the Brexit Arms!

We are temporarily under new management but worry not, the ship is still steady as we sail on to 12 December. A quick recap of the events of the last week or two:

📋❓💙❤️💛⁉️💙‼️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😀☹️😀☹️😧😱🙄😬🤥🤔😂🤣😂🔥💨⛈🌥🌦🌤☀️

Anyone of any political persuasion who is prepared to join in, eschew goadery, and enjoy a laugh, welcome. First drinks are on the house.

Do we have any ‘cheese moments’ kicking around too? Bloody love those little cheese filled beauties, not had them for years!

Can you tell I am on a diet? 😂

BelleHathor · 27/11/2019 16:24

Just seen on Twitter that no Andrew Neil and Boris today, they are still negotiating a date. Head Girl Jo and Nigel Farage next week 😊

Enb76 · 27/11/2019 16:36

A local school wanted to source its chicken via a local organic farm. It couldn't because the Local Authority wide contract is with a company importing chicken from Thailand. I am not convinced they have higher chicken welfare standards than the US.

I didn't see the story - I would agree with you on the logic!

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 16:42

From Bolton West, a bellwether seat formerly held by Labour until 2015 but since then on a slim Conservative majority, encouraging news. The area is being swamped by Momentum canvassers but they are being given rock-all on the doorsteps of their core voters because....Brexit. Bolton West voted Leave 55.55%.

From the Spectator: "Labour activists in South Thanet in Kent have been posted leaflets intended for voters in South Shields in the North East of England, raising concerns about further mix ups. South Thanet activists fear that the leaflets could have gone to every household in the constituency.

North, South, it's all the same...outside the M25. 🤷🏼‍♀️

South Shields - not marginal. But 62% Leave.

Bellini, can't leave you out. This is the home of Comfort Food.

Now there's a though Bellini Scampi Fries eh! Grin love a scampi fry I do.

howabout · 27/11/2019 16:52

Epic I will have to go and see if cheese moments are still available now.

LBC and Spectator also reporting nothing in NHS story. Ironically the underlying sources for the leaked document are purported to be the TTIP EU negotiations.

howabout · 27/11/2019 16:55

Don't always agree with this young man but sometimes he absolutely nails it.

@thedsggroup

"Progressive" parties don't raise tax on small & medium sized businesses. You can't oppress the working class anymore than by taxing their entrepreneurship, freedom to break away from the bosses & own the fruits of their own labour.

bellinisurge · 27/11/2019 17:08

Thank you all for pandering to my Scampi Fries requirements.

DustyDiamond · 27/11/2019 17:15

Just caught up on today's posts - apologies for doing a Jezza of late & being 'present but not involved' - I do keep reading along though 🍷🍷

Proper lol @ 'Batty' Gardiner - perfect descriptor 😂😂

Will have to go and snout around to catch up on the NHS 'scoop'.
Agree it's intriguing as to who's doing the leaking... my money is on Hammond and/or Grieve (less so Grieve as he's usually so pious but I'm convinced he was leaking the Russia report stuff at least)

(Also a huge fan of scampi fries 😍)

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 17:24

I know we have all seen this before. And it was dismissed as a ‘jezza joke’ Hmm

But here it is again, from a better angle. It certainly bears repeating...

Labour getting desperate by inventing stories about the NHS.

The students who voted labour in 2017 will not have forgotten the labour lie about student fees being scrapped.

Corbyn’s spending plans will have the same outcome as was seen under the previous labour government - bankruptcy. The current younger generation will be taxed heavily for years to pay for Labours plans. Alternatively the next Conservative government will be forced to implement austerity measures in the same manner when they took over in 2010.

Don’t be afraid of a no deal, but be very afraid of another labour government.

scaryteacher · 27/11/2019 17:29

Belle Australia, and the U.S. have already expressed concern re the Five Eyes if Corbyn gets in. I bet he doesn't attend the NATO summit in London next week.

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 17:50

Dimitri is right. And it would be simple enough.

Labour intends to extend the franchise to all UK residents, including those aged 16 and over. Note UK residents, not UK nationals. This means anyone "who has spent 183 or more days in the UK in the tax year and whose only home was in the UK - either owned, rented or lived in for at least 91 days in total - and at least 30 days were spent there in the tax year".

So, EU nationals, non-EU nationals, illegal immigrants, you name it. They'll all be able to vote in a second referendum as well as in all future UK elections. There are an estimated 2,370,000 EU nationals in the UK. Anyone care to guess how many illegal immigrants there are?

We would be the only country in the world to do this. Anywhere else, it would be a form of gerrymandering.

It's on Page 82 of the LSNIH (longest suicide note in history).

Agree! Dmitri is spot on as usual

Aside from Brexit (but also as a natural progression of Brexit) it's about time there was a positive attitude & drive for change which isn't based in champagne socialist, lazy, 'class war' rhetoric (a la Corbz)

I'm dreading a hung parliament or labour govt but I'm becoming increasingly enthused by the idea of a BJ Tory govt actually working for all of us, across the whole UK.

Hollycatberry · 27/11/2019 18:06

If Boris could come over half as lucid as the Dom blog about Brexit and the changes he wants to make to Tories and Govt then he would really rally people. I actually think governments can benefit from people outside their party around, to give them honest and clear feedback.
Glad he called out Grieve off too and a special shout out to Hammond who was holding back cash for the NHS, yet remainers love him. Absolute turd of a politician.

DustyDiamond · 27/11/2019 18:23

Dmitri really is good at rallying Holly!

2 shit photoshops to celebrate the BatSignal

Hahaha Dusty! That cheered me up!

Limer · 27/11/2019 18:25

Excellent DustyD

Bits of that bat signal were more or less my approach during the referendum. Stating the obvious facts of uncontrolled vs controlled immigration.

Words fail me at the idea of allowing the vote to anyone resident in the UK, so taking this message out there will be even easier Grin

BelleHathor · 27/11/2019 18:31

Scary Fully agree Corbyn won't attend the NATO summit. Will boycott it for "woke points" just like he boycotted the Trump dinners, which is stupid and dangerous as no matter what you think of Trump the U.S. is our biggest ally 😡. Corbyn is so blind he can't see that the biggest geopolitical threat right now is China!

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 18:46

Why would he care about china being a threat, the political ideologies are closer aligned in his mind, than those of capitalist america... He probably doesn’t view them as a threat at all...

He will just wave his little red flag and hope for the best! 😂 vassal state of china anyone? 😂

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 18:47

North korea on thames? 😬😂

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 18:51

As opposed to Venezuela-with-drizzle?

😂🤣😂🤣Love the bat memes.
