All politicians are paradoxes and contradictions, as they are human and life isn't black or white rather shades of grey. Most of the media today are not journalists in the sense of trying to report the news as is, but are agents of disinformation, perhaps misinformation? and are more concerned with pushing a POV either to influence or for the "likes". There is thought for the consequences it may cause people who read and believe it unquestionably 🤔

Probably derailing from a toxic subject:

Today I received through my door:
A Jo Swinson 'newspaper' NOT mentioning Brexit or the LibDems.
A postcard saying its a 2 horse race between LD and Labour and ignoring the FACT that Conservatives are MOST likely to win.
A 'letter' from a polling expert saying that only the LD can win (who knows who that is from).

A 'letter' from a local NHS Psychiatrist saying only the LD will treat people (who knows who that is from).

Personally I took my DC (who has many serious health issues) to an NHS consultant Neurologist yesterday and it was fast, efficient and fucking brilliant, even if I had paid for it.

So I have no problem with the 'Tories' being in charge of the NHS.

Oh yes, I also got an advert for Amazon Prime.

Just making the point that during my lifetime my DC has always had amazing NHS health care. The NHS has never let us down. If the 'Tories' were letting us down I would be the first to rebel. But the health care in the SW has been world class, I moved here from Scotland to get it and haven't regretted it for a second.

The amount of LD dead trees. Well that is another issue.

One, I should stick to the bar snacks and not engage in discussing politics with this thread;
Two, your robust defence of politicians who share your point of view is as unseeing of criticism about them as the posters on the other thread.
Priti Patel is not Home Secretary because she is of razor sharp intelligence. She is gaffe prone and out of her depth. She struggled as a junior foreign office minister.
