Welcome to the Brexit Arms!

We are temporarily under new management but worry not, the ship is still steady as we sail on to 12 December. A quick recap of the events of the last week or two:

📋❓💙❤️💛⁉️💙‼️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😀☹️😀☹️😧😱🙄😬🤥🤔😂🤣😂🔥💨⛈🌥🌦🌤☀️

Anyone of any political persuasion who is prepared to join in, eschew goadery, and enjoy a laugh, welcome. First drinks are on the house.

Autumn, I saw some tool on twitter earlier who didn’t ‘agree with the police as an institution’ (a corbyn fan as it happens) What does this plonker think we should we do then? No armed forces, no police, no nuclear deterrent...

Should we Issue everyone with tickling sticks to fight off potential attackers and enemies?

The stupid. It burns.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 30/11/2019 00:31

Sorry, to be clear, not the plonker in the interview, the plonker on twitter. It’s importance to carefully categorise plonkers these days obvs. Grin

AutumnRose1 · 30/11/2019 00:38

Epic “ No armed forces, no police, no nuclear deterrent...”

There are definitely people around who want that. Maybe they have access to some great drugs I’ve not heard of Grin

Finding this thread has been so helpful. I must go to bed though! Night all.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 30/11/2019 00:41

Night! 👋

Comradesally · 30/11/2019 09:01

Richard tice did speak well in my view and with the honesty and natural frustration of someone who knows what he's talking about. At least in regard to negotiating and walking away from a deal.

howabout · 30/11/2019 09:56

It's a new day all over again. Happy St Andrews. Dug out my 25 year old tartan dress in celebration to save me from all the Black Friday temptation.

To cheer us all up Lord Ashcroft has been in Scotland with his focus groups. ( he didn't meet any of the 38% Brexit supporters which confirms my anecdotal research that a minority of them vote Tory or live in current Tory seats/marginals)

ordashcroftpolls.com/2019/11/does-he-want-to-be-pm-really-it-was-worse-than-prince-andrew-she-has-bagpipes-playing-in-her-head-all-the-time-my-election-focus-groups-in-scotland/?fbclid=IwAR1q1FiMmY7w_pnD6RUjqwK5Z9qffXUfBGad5bcEBZOsm7Op-lDHEu0yrnE

Speaking of Richard Tice, I was checking up on his "alleged" other half for the gossip. Still annoyed that no-one pointed out Sarah Vine is married to Michael Gove in 2015.

howabout · 30/11/2019 09:57

Sorry ridiculously long link properly this time (hopefully).

Morning, All!

A later start than usual but it is the weekend.

It may be dull and cloudy outside but here in the Brexit Arms, the fire is lit in the snug and the warmth is drifting through to the bar. Tea and coffee available as always but there was a run on the house specialities yesterday morning so I've had to fall back on emergency supplies: a mountain of hot buttery crumpets and a mound of giant toasted teacakes. Please help yourselves.

Sinn Fein has come forward this morning to signal support for their friend, Jezbollah. I'll let that sentence stand by itself. No further comment needed.

And the postman delivered yet more spam from the LibDems, again personally addressed to Mr Lily. He was minded to write back to ask why him, why not me; was it because they were struggling with the definition of the word "woman"? Then he decided, nah, let them waste time, money and effort flogging a dead horse. I'm proud of him. All that droning on about Self ID has paid off.

Will go back and catch up now on the thread.

Happy St Andrew's Day, Howabout. Lord Ashcroft's polls and focus groups really drill down so will have a good read - thank you.

Just a Brew for me. Saving room for my haggis supper later.

Who live in a LibDem house?

"Who lives there? “A polygamous couple. Or a cult;” “The kind of people who protest in London;” “Jo Swinson and five cats;” “It would be like Hansel and Gretel. It looks OK but she would take you inside and bake you into gingerbread.”"

SingingLily · 30/11/2019 10:15

GrinHowabout.

It reminds me of the old joke.

What is Labour's definition of what constitutes a family?
Three people who share a fridge.

Morning all Brew

Just read it Howabout!

Very good - was proper laughing at the end with the house descriptions 😂😂

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 30/11/2019 10:46

Morning all.

Feeling tired this morning. A very large very strong, black coffee please.

Fun fact. Apparently Black coffee drinkers are much more likely to be psychopaths. I guess that would fit the tory voter narrative we keep hearing wouldn’t it?

GrinGrinGrin

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 30/11/2019 10:50

We are making a banoffee pavlova this morning for an early christmas dinner with friends (yes, us ‘orrible tory leave voters have those). Well, when I say we, DH is, I just keep walking through sporadically, giving unwanted advice and suggestions! (Sounds familiar)

Will try and save you all some for later! 😉

howabout · 30/11/2019 11:00

That's a worry Epic I don't even have milk in my tea. Grin Brew

Saucery · 30/11/2019 12:13

I used to drink black coffee at uni but I was all for Labour then, so go figure Grin

Limer · 30/11/2019 12:49

howabout that Ashcroft piece is hilarious Grin

Epic Ooooh banoffee pavlova sounds gorgeous!

I did a very successful scrambled eggs with smoked salmon breakfast for my guests this morning, we're off out now into the lovely sunshine. Not discussed Brexit at all, although we have discussed how terrorists can (or can't) be stopped Sad

Had another letter from Boris and a tabloid-sized double-page spread through the door today from my Labour MP. This constituency looks like it could be a close finish.

😮
😍😍😍😍😍

LOVE smoked salmon & scrambled eggs!!
(Haven't had it for ever!)

Am well jel

SingingLily · 30/11/2019 12:56

Banoffee pavlova sounds delicious. DH's speciality at Christmas is tiramisu. I set out all the ingredients, weigh them, make the espresso, fold in the mascarpone, beat the egg whites, whip the cream, layer the coffee-and-Amaretto biscuits with the cream mix, and clean up the kitchen afterwards...but it's his tiramisu and he accepts all the credit.

I know my place Grin

I had smkd salmon and SE, this very morn. 😁.

Delicious.
Landlady I'm weak at the thought of your pub grub. ♥️ Toasted teacakes....

Banana pavlova... Yummy... We've come a long way since the days of marrow, marrow and yet more marrow.

Long may it continue!

Off to see frozen 2 shortly!

Comradesally · 30/11/2019 13:17

That tiramasu sounds heavenly!!

DustyDiamond · 30/11/2019 13:21

Enjoy! 😍

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 30/11/2019 14:13

We normally make a baileys chocolate cheesecake at christmas, but we decided to go ‘light’ Grin today ... hold on, I’ll take a pic.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 30/11/2019 14:15
