Welcome to the Brexit Arms!

We are temporarily under new management but worry not, the ship is still steady as we sail on to 12 December. A quick recap of the events of the last week or two:

📋❓💙❤️💛⁉️💙‼️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😀☹️😀☹️😧😱🙄😬🤥🤔😂🤣😂🔥💨⛈🌥🌦🌤☀️

Anyone of any political persuasion who is prepared to join in, eschew goadery, and enjoy a laugh, welcome. First drinks are on the house.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit

Probably very wise Grin

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 20:33

@XingMing.

You tried, Good attempt, sadly predictable response and reaction to your posts. Drink here for you when you return. 🍷 from one recent ‘former’ 😔 business owner to another.

Sigh.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/11/2019 20:36

Ahhh home again, its the weekend. Time to relax.

"Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
The troubles are all the same"

Was going to mention the pile of LibDem dead trees stacked up inside my door. But London bridge ... Sad

And then I read the 'other place' is saying its a Boris conspiracy to get more votes. Absolutely FUCKING disgraceful..

Get me a very large glass of wine.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 29/11/2019 20:37

Wine for you.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/11/2019 20:40

Thanks dirty

Limer · 29/11/2019 20:44

Actually did watch the last half hour of the debate when I realised the audience were quietly listening, rather than shouting/heckling/jeering/clapping at every opportunity. Wish we could get Richard Tice to join the Conservatives! And Rishi Sunak as a future PM please!

The Greens should have the policies of their predecessors, the Ecology Party, who actually wanted to actively reduce the UK population (now there's an idea for consuming less resources!)

Can't comment on the other place as I don't go in there.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/11/2019 20:51

After yesterdays C4 debate, I cant find a single person discussing any of the issues that were (might have been) brought up. Seems C4 cocked up and the climate was made almost irrelevant.

Or was that the point and all they were really trying to do was make a party political anti Tory statement?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 20:53

“Or was that the point and all they were really trying to do was make a party political anti Tory statement?”

This. I touched on that earlier too. Their intentions were not entirely honourable in my opinion.

Snow and ice Epic and Walking Wine

Happy Thanksgiving All - prefer being thankful to adopting Black Friday.
All this climate change debate just gives me the rage at all the hard sell marketing of Christmas tat. Chez Howabout can't bear to update our 27 year old somewhat dilapidated Christmas tree anyhow.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 21:26

2 people dead. Not including the attacker.

😔💐

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 21:30

And now this...

What a sad day.

XingMing · 29/11/2019 22:31

Embroiled in debate on the other thread but some unknown voices have weighed in. Quick slurp here. Not good at watching stuff on TV, I doze off in front of the warm fire.

Songsofexperience · 29/11/2019 23:06

Just caught up with the thread. Didn't mean to sound patronising earlier, or even to defend that particular post, just that I thought it wasn't making a joke of today's events. Whether it was in good taste is another matter. I was trying to point that out in a neutral way.
What happened today is absolutely horrendous' that's the main thing- but I also think the tone of these threads now is a sad reflection of the debate in general. There is no good will left on any side anymore, just hostility and suspicion and I find that deeply depressing.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 23:18

Sorry Songs, fair point, we are all so hypersensitive to each other at the moment, and we shouldn’t be xxx 🕊💐

What a sad day on the bridge, and a good time for self reflection. Division and extremes never end well.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 23:21

A drink for you songs whilst you are here, please don’t think you can’t come back. Tomorrow is another day SmileWine

Songsofexperience · 29/11/2019 23:22

Thank you epic. Drink gladly accepted. Cheers.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 23:23

No problem! WinkSmile

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/11/2019 23:30

I think the time has come where we do have to consider who is best able to protect our country.

Corbyn's friendship with terrorists. Being unable to say he would use our Trident deterrent. His determination to 'arrest' the most dangerous ISIS fanatics rather than 'shoot to kill'.

It all means if he ever became PM, our country and the world would become a much more dangerous place. I hope everyone thinks of that when they are in the polling stations in 2 weeks.

Thinking of the victims of the terrorist attacks today.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 23:37

I agree Walking. I appreciate the comments and appropriate gesture he has made on twitter towards the police and the the victims of this tragedy, however, It’s hard to believe he is fully on board, due to past comments, behaviours and associations he has repeatedly made. Twitter is largely not buying it. And sadly, neither am I.

AutumnRose1 · 29/11/2019 23:44

I just got home so though obvs I knew the news, I didn’t get to look at it properly till just now

Sad to say, me and mate in the bar were wondering how fast the conspiracy theory would hit, didn’t think it would be on MN though.

I’m sick of living in London but Londoners are awesome.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/11/2019 23:47

I walk across London bridge at least once a month. I am scared when I do it but I am very glad we do not have American gun laws. I do wish we had more stop and search.

AutumnRose1 · 29/11/2019 23:50

I saw an interview on the BBC with with someone who had a conviction for knife crime, explaining why he didn’t approve of stop and search. It was something to see.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 29/11/2019 23:53

“I walk across London bridge at least once a month. I am scared when I do it but I am very glad we do not have American gun laws. I do wish we had more stop and search.”

Agreed.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/11/2019 23:58

AutumnRose1 What was the reasoning?

AutumnRose1 · 30/11/2019 00:18

Walking it was a lot of shrugging, saying “police are biased” and “it’s not fair, people carry knives for self defence”.
