Let’s all take 5 and have a Brew and a large piece of Cake. As angry as I am about this debacle today, I refuse to be silenced by a bunch of ignorant and intolerant people. We only have this one thread for ourselves (and reasonable remainders of course welcome). Don’t let them do what they have continuously tried (and with some success) to do over the last 3/4 years. We have a different opinion and they need to accept that and get on with it (or just plain hide the thread it’s not difficult).

I'm over it already

I move on very quickly 😂😂

I'll carry on as before, ignoring the shitposts & engaging in good faith with people who are not twats

Like you say, these are literally the only threads on MN which are pro-brexit, so it would be terrible if they were deleted & banned.

When I posted that the thread was particularly awful. Some of us would like to come here for debate but can't when all that's being posted is hatred and childish screenshots.
I would love nothing better than a good discussion outside of westminstenders threads and to understand your viewpoints but no one here is interested in discussing anything. I tried to move on and go for actual conversation but no, that's not permitted it seems if you're not a leaver. It's all a bit high school and like I said earlier, doesn't help the leaver stereotype. I've only been on mumsnet for around a year so have not been privy to threads before then so can't comment on what they were like. I've been told but as I've not seen them myself I'll not judge. I've already said I'll be happy with a compromise of a deal that doesn't screw anyone over. I'm not sure many leavers are able to say the same. It's brexit at whatever cost which naturally puts people's backs up and doesn't give the impression of critical analysis taking place.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 So do I 😂😂

If by take 5, time, you meant take 5 chocolate digestives from the tin and furiously shove them down your gob in an attempt to self soothe, due to being faced with an enormous virtual injustice. Then Job done. Grin

I don’t think I’ll have room for that gammon now. SadGrin

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 15:52

So. 7 days to go now until the big NOTHING then... I’m going to need Viagra to assist me with all of these anti climaxes soon. Hmm

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 15:55

What do we think is ‘cumming’ next then? (I know, I know, my puns are terrible! Grin) seems to be radio silence from N10 again!

Parker231 · 24/10/2019 15:55

The government has no plans to hold any debates on Brexit or an early election in the House of Commons next week, Jacob Rees-Mogg has announced.

The Commons leader made no mention of the issues - despite Britain being due to leave the EU in seven days time - during an update on parliamentary business for the following week.

But Prime Minister Boris Johnson has summoned a meeting of his political cabinet to 10 Downing Street at 3pm today.

Whatever works for you Epic😂. I had a packet of five donouts in the cupboard before I went to work, due to it being half term I came back and there were just two left, I have just demolished both of them and feel a bit sick now Blush

I would like to pose a serious question.

What is the appeal of Nigel Farage to you? (I was going to write "to you all" but think that surely there are moderates among you).

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 15:58

Hi Parker! Wine

“But Prime Minister Boris Johnson has summoned a meeting of his political cabinet to 10 Downing Street at 3pm today.”

They are not going to try to pull a no deal out of the hat are they? Hmm, the plot thickens. Confused (FWIW I think it’s more likely they will announce the extension, but I guess we will see.)

time4chocolate · 24/10/2019 16:05

I heard a rumour that France want to give us 15 days but think we will probably be given three months. MPs will then have free reign to dick around over the festive period, stopping momentarily for a few carols round the Westminster Christmas tree🎄 -yippee, I can hardly wait!! Not sure if a GE will get thrown into the Christmas festivities.

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 16:07

@time4 oh gawd. I can’t do this shit over christmas. Please say it isn’t so? Sad 🤦🏻‍♀️

TheMustressMhor · 24/10/2019 16:08

Please will some of you explain the appeal Nigel Farage has.

😩😩😩

I suppose everything is on hold at the moment due to having to wait until the EU decide what extension length they are willing to offer (precisely the reason it was referred to as a 'surrender bill').

As soon as we get the nod, I expect an emergency business motion or whatever they call it & then either a GE or push ahead with the WAB depending on extension length.

It's so frustrating that there's yet more nothing.

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 16:14

It’s excruciating dusty. I don’t think I have ever drunk so much wine!

Actually thats a total lie. Grin

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 16:16

Sky news reporting a cabinet split between pushing the deal through or going for an election.

TequilaPilates · 24/10/2019 16:18

What is going to happen if there's a GE? It will basically be held on a single issue - Brexit but what if you're a brexiter who cannot abide the Tories, or a remainer who can't stand Labour? What is going to happen?

time4chocolate · 24/10/2019 16:19

What is the appeal of Nigel Farage to you? (I was going to write "to you all" but think that surely there are moderates among you).

To be fair I think most of us are moderates and are not founding members of the Nigel Farage Fan club. Several of us have said that recently he has veered off slightly to appeal more to the out and out ‘no dealers’. Taking into account where I live I will vote Tory in the next GE, however, I voted Brexit Party in the EU elections and in the unlikely event that we don’t leave I am happy NF and Brexit party will continue to hold their seats in EU parliament for next 4.5 years.

Bj and Jc need replacing. Then we might make some progress. I want to remain but sadly accept that we more than likely won't. I just hope there are no issues with my life saving medication, or my children's, or my mum's. Or anyone else's. There are already shortages.

time4chocolate · 24/10/2019 16:23

Tequila - I expect there will be a lot of noseholding with one hand whilst ticking a box with the other hand.

Hi @tequila Smile

It’s a very personal choice for everyone. I am a classic floating voter, but Brexit is the biggest policy issue affecting the country right now, so for me as I have previously stated, I am ‘ok’ with the deal on the table, so therefore I will be voting Tory. I will review that decision going forward once Brexit is ‘done and dusted’ (figuratively speaking).

Epicwaffle · 24/10/2019 16:30

Ok, so I think the governments forward going decision may be hingeing on the results of the queens speech vote? That’s what I have picked up from sky anyway. Have tuned into parliament tv to find out more. Anyone know when the vote is scheduled?
