Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

I just want them to move on.

We are not in a position to not vote this through and still have brexit.
We cannot rely on tory winning next election without brexit party.
We cannot go on in deadlock and we can't work with shifty snake people who believe one thing and do another like corbyn.

Angryresister · 19/10/2019 08:09

meanwhile some of us are waiting to see how long it will be for our rights to healthcare, free movement , uprated pension, to be removed. Why do leavers think this is such a great plan. If they have come for our rights, they will come for yours next

“You don’t take a decision of destiny through a spasm of impatience. “ Tony Blair

Angryresister · 19/10/2019 08:11

Moving on is not what you think it is ...will take years to sort out legislation that will bring the country to its knees. And the damage will be unimaginable.

DustyDiamond · 19/10/2019 08:12

"The document discloses that his military planning allows for some of the WMD to be ready within 45 minutes of an order to use them."

Also Tony Blair.

Snowy111 · 19/10/2019 08:27

“A spasm of impatience” hahahahaha

Think of 10 years of the same angst as we have now.

The only way to stop the current angst is to revoke. God I hope BJ fails today.

Limitedsimba123 · 19/10/2019 08:29

How can I appear blind to a point that I’ve just made? As said before I supported May’s WA. I understand RD and how it works. The issue is that regardless of the reasons any of you voted to leave, the current crop of MPs have their own reasons for pursuing a hard Brexit, whilst May’s WA protected our current rights, Johnson’s doesn’t and that should be worrying to all of us. Dusty do you honestly believe the ERG have any of our bests interests at heart, and that they are pursuing this for any other reason than deregulation? As you point out, once those in power have set us on the path to deregulation it will be difficult for any of us to stop it in a timely manner. Especially if Johnson wins a majority in any GE shortly after the WA us approved. They essentially have 5 years to do whatever they like.

Limitedsimba123 · 19/10/2019 08:37

That’s why I think it all comes down to whether you think the ERG are pursuing hard Brexit for laudable reasons. If you do, great. If not, I’m not happy with everything going to shit just in order to be able to hold them accountable in 5 years time, when their aims have already been realised and they are counting their Billions.

Parker231 · 19/10/2019 09:26

From Sky News - No 10 plans to send MPs home if they vote for Letwin - but govt will introduce the bill on Monday

Looks like it will be a short day in the House today.

Parker231 · 19/10/2019 09:38

If Letwin passes today Downing St will send the letter to Tusk but PM will continue to argue that UK should leave with the new deal at end of the month

HateIsNotGood · 19/10/2019 09:41

Morning all - double machiato please. Yesterday, I heard noises that if Letwin passes (very likely) then the 'new deal' would be presented some time next week, so Monday seems to be an improvement on that.

bellinisurge · 19/10/2019 09:42

The Letwin amendment is only happening because the PM is untrustworthy and, contrary to his bullshit, hasn't given Parliament enough time to consider the plan.
This is on Johnson. Who, again, shows what a useless fuck up he is.
The Tories will dump him first chance they get.

time4chocolate · 19/10/2019 09:45

That being the case we can expect JC to call for a GE next week then?!?!?

Bring it onSmile

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2019 09:48

Not necessarily. Tactics are key here!

HateIsNotGood · 19/10/2019 09:49

I really don't care if the Tories dump BJ or not, I would just like HoC to pass this new deal, so we can get on with the rest of Brexit and the rest of life too.

bellinisurge · 19/10/2019 09:50

If your boy kept his word we wouldn't have this lack of trust.

time4chocolate · 19/10/2019 09:54

Not necessarily. Tactics are key here!

I'd be amazed if Labour had any tactics tbh (other than how can we kick the GE can further down the road).

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 19/10/2019 09:55

I doubt they would have done this with Theresa May. Dislike her all you like but at least she is trustworthy.

Parker231 · 19/10/2019 09:55

Even if this deal gets anywhere, there will be years and years of Brexit whilst trying to get trade deals. The deals will be worse than we have now but it will consume the country for at least the next decade.

HateIsNotGood · 19/10/2019 09:56

BJ ain't "my boy" - he just happens to be PM right now. I'm not party political, in fact I'm anti-political parties entirely. Why should I care?

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2019 09:57

But it's not time for a GE. One doesn't have to happen right now. No need to VoNC until it's tactically wise.

And of course the opposition had tactics. It's obvious they've been discussing what to do and when, and that this is a fluid situation which needs constant reassessment.

Maybe the Tories shouldn't have introduced the FTPA if they didn't want to lose control over when a GE can happen.

howabout · 19/10/2019 09:57

I don’t see how history is at all relevant.

Why on earth would I bother with TLDR polemics when this is the opening phrase.

Praying for Sally.

Oh and Caroline Flint tweeting Govt concessions to Labour MPs on workers' rights etc last night so I think they will vote with the Govt and having done so would be mad to then vote Letwin and invite their decision being relitigated and negated by extension shenanigans.

HateIsNotGood · 19/10/2019 09:58

Parker - the good thing is that the years of 'trade deals' won't take up the entire countries' attention but will be focused on by the people who are in that line of business.

You're not saying anything we don't know already so come up with a better can-kicker.

howabout · 19/10/2019 10:00

Labour Leave:
"Workers' rights should be the preserve of elected UK govts to decide - if they take them away, vote them out > elect a Lab govt to restore. No such mechanism exists for the EU. A prime minister you can depose is always preferable to a king that you can't".

HateIsNotGood · 19/10/2019 10:07

On a different subject - does anyone know what the Marches are marching for today? People's Vote? Is that a PV on the Deal that Hoc agrees on? Remain? A 2nd Referendum?

I'd ask them but you know what happens to Leave voters who venture onto their threads, they don't receive the same polite treatment as they do in The Arms.
