The Pro Rogues plan to prorogue again this week.

The Queen might be challenged to sack Johnson. Or he might be forced to extend.

It depends on which newspaper you read. Either way it strikes you that no one really knows what's going to happen...

They exist DGR
Pop over to the brexit arms!
in fact...don't!
They exist on my local fb pages too.
If I had the energy I'd contemplate doing some research on cognative dissonance but its my birthday so I'm fucking off to scoff some cake!
Grin

prettybird · 08/10/2019 17:05

DGR - all you need is to be living in Scotland when we get our independence and to want to claim Scottish citizenship Wink

.....but anyway, with your Italian heritage, you'd be able to live in an independent Scotland (which as a minimum will be an EFTA member) under FOM Grin

ContinuityError · 08/10/2019 17:07

Pop over to the brexit arms!

You can’t - they’ve lost their licence. Apparently the landlady booked a Punch and Judy show.

DGRossetti · 08/10/2019 17:11

Pop over to the brexit arms!

I'd rather not - I haven't eaten yet.

be curious to know what the bellend*/citizen ration is as adduced by Facebook ? From limited experience, I'm guessing 1 Facebook bellend to 15 normal people ?

*you can tell I watched "Comedians Giving Lectures" last week, since I'm using the bellend index Grin

To all Scottish folk, thank you for your warm words Smile

ListeningQuietly · 08/10/2019 17:11

Sad placemark.
Have booked my ferry for Ireland (before the pound tanks against the Euro)
Luckily have a bundle of Euros to pay for hotels and food and fuel out there.

thecatfromjapan · 08/10/2019 17:13

Secret Barrister has a point.

However, given that we learned - afterwards - that there was a lot of messaging being delivered off-radar, into social media silos, I think I would rather, on balance, know what they're up to.

And I think this message proves the virtue of that. It seems to matter that people who don't strongly agree with the message see it - and see the views of some sections of the Leave vote target audience.

It's clearly eye-opening.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/10/2019 17:14

I've just seen that poster.
Angry
there aren't enough words for my anger.

ProRogue has been published.
Idiots

MockersthefeMANist · 08/10/2019 17:19

Charles Walker Tory MP on R4 PM just now accused the BBC of making up the crazy Downing St briefings.

CrunchyCarrot · 08/10/2019 17:20

THEY stood alongside and voted with these people and gave leave.eu their victory.
Bleating now about how misrepresented they feel is pathetic.

I would take offence as a Leave voter (but now ardent Remainer) but honestly what would it achieve? I have zero tolerance for the likes of that poster. Disgusting. You may call me pathetic if you like, but I believed when I voted Leave that it would be handled in a grown up manner and there would be a deal. Farage was not and is not part of the government, so he was easy to ignore, he would not be handling the departure. What has followed is the most dreadful descent into the abyss by the Conservative party and the inept way the rest of Parliament has handled Brexit. I am honestly scared by what may be coming next, it gets worse by the hour. I regret my vote, I always will, but I cannot change it now. Never in a million years would I have envisaged what has come to pass. Sad Angry

@DGRossetti this is our plan: I am quarter Scottish so will be claiming a passport as soon as I can.

DGRossetti · 08/10/2019 17:28

Were they involved with William Morris

the arts and crafts movement. Proto-socialist in an era when it wasn't really heard of. Workers co-operatives etc. I may be wrong, but quite socially liberal so sympathetic to womens education and suffrage.

A lot of the PRB gave up their time to teach at working mens clubs as part of their ideals. In a way, Stormzy could trace his ethos back to them a little bit, which I find charming and sweet. Don't know if he'd agree.

DGRossetti · 08/10/2019 17:29

I am quarter Scottish

Why did I suddenly think of the Gingerbread Man Grin ?

Basilpots · 08/10/2019 17:32

Crunchy no one on here thinks you think like that. Leave.eu play to a ‘niche’ crew of leavers. Much of what they put out is at best juvenile at its very worst, which that is downright offensive.

Project fear, eh?
If I had voted leave I would be writing to MPs, newspapers, local parliamentary groups and SHOUTING from the rooftops (and some regretful leave voters have done just that...) but the vast majority haven't so the utter self serving bastards in govt and in opposition have taken this silence as tacit approval of a no deal brexit.
I'd advise ANY regretful leave voting lurkers looking at this thread (hello!) to do the above ^. Let them know!
Shout. Loudly.
Seems to be the only way to get heard these days.
But...come on. Farage is vile. His views are vile. And you happily voted for his wet dream.
How you feel about that is your business.
Good luck.
We are all of us - leavers and remainers - going to need it.

DGRossetti · 08/10/2019 17:40

Thanks for that FF - will have to see what iPlayer can throw up.

Apologies to all for derailing - but given the cat brigade, I think it should be allowed ?

(Speaking of cats, Rossetti Towers was visited last night by a new cat ... more a kitten really. Never seen it before, and it was very curious about our garden. It must be the MN vibe or something GrinGrinGrinGrin - it was mainly white with brown patches. I'm guessing young as it was very hesitant about jumping off our 5' (160cm) fence )

DGRossetti · 08/10/2019 17:43

I suspect many more than we realise have and are. Bear in mind it's not in the MSMs interest to either acknowledge their existence, or admit they are more than a handful anyway.

If you had an odd sense of humour, then the fact that those whose vote was prompted by a sensation of being ignored in the media and by politicians are now experiencing being ignored by the media and politicians, would make you laugh uncontrollably.

BigChocFrenzy · 08/10/2019 17:53

Happy Birthday, @Hoooo 💐
Have some more 🎂 !

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 08/10/2019 18:07

Angela Merkel wears sensible shoes. I like her even more now. Random but I admire a women who ignores how society tries to dictate we wears heels. I'm all for sensible shoes.

Songs Flowers

I'm sorry. Can you get him to move out or move out yourself?

My DF used to keep my DM up until she threatened to give up work as she said it was morally wrong for her to draw a salary when she was too exhausted to do her job properly. Her salary was needed to keep the household running so things got a bit easier for her then.

Flowers for everyone else too.

tobee · 08/10/2019 18:08

Happy Birthday 🥳 Hoooo.

Was Elizabeth Siddall the one who carked it after Millais made her lie in a cold bath for days on end pretending to be Ophelia? Or was that someone else?

Sorry to say not a pre Raphaelite fan. All a bit "women, you are a bunch of evil ladies of the night, leading poor weak men astray, you need to let God show you the way! (See The Awakening Conscience, Holman Hunt)
