From Flamingos to Yellowhammer and Black Swans.

The Tory Remainer is now a Dodo. Instead the party in inhabited by disaster capitalist Vultures. Jeremy Corbyn, meanwhile, has been labelled by the right wing press as a Chicken. The SNP would very much like Boris Johnson to be a Jailbird. The LDs are keen to sing like Canaries about the contents of BlackSwan. The Br

And the Tower of London is starting to get very jumpy about the whereabouts and location of its Ravens.

I would not, however, advise eating urban wild pigeons if things get desperate, from what I know of their health.

I’m honestly not being a GF here - where have you seen Corbyn confirm this because I really haven’t

I watched him on BBC Parliament last week - and that's what he said.

Bearbehind · 14/09/2019 19:28

Don't you think it offers people a final way out of this that enables both Leavers and Remainers a chance to say they have been heard and have had a chance to vote with more information with more details of what leave looks like?

No.

After the 2017 election the narrative was that 80% of the electorate had voted for Leave supporting parties

Labour still support leave - just not no deal. But the deal they’d accept is not at all clear.

Even if Corbyn agreed to a PV - which he hasn’t - what would the choices be?

chomalungma · 14/09/2019 19:28

And Conference is going to be ... interesting

I think all conferences are going to be interesting Grin

BigChocFrenzy · 14/09/2019 19:28

Bear I gather you are an ex-Tory / Tory

Instead of demanding that the other parties rescue the country from the disaster the Tories are driving us into,
why not concentrate on retaking your party from the hard right nihilists ?

Even concentrate on getting the ex-Tory rebels to do something useful

It's a bit cheeky to keep criticising other parties from not sorting out your own party's mess the way you would like Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:29

He bloody HAS @bearbehind. For the third time of posting, he really really has. Google gave me this story. Is your Google broken?

thecatfromjapan · 14/09/2019 19:30

Fluffy I'm absolutely sure the GE position on Brexit has yet to be fully decided. There's going to be a lot of arguing at Conference. Not least because 61 CLPs have sent in motions for Labour to adopt a Remain position, while the union line is to argue for neutrality.

It's going to be interesting.

chomalungma · 14/09/2019 19:30

Even if Corbyn agreed to a PV - which he hasn’t - what would the choices be

Which he has.

Choices wise - personally I think Remain, the deal or No Deal. On a 1,2,3 basis so you can say which ones you think are best.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:31

Am I invisible? Can someone else respond to me so I know I'm not a figment of my own imagination?!

thecatfromjapan · 14/09/2019 19:31

But, yes, Labour are definitely backing a PV.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:32

Thecat, Corbyn has already announced they will have another referendum on their manifesto. Before conference.

thecatfromjapan · 14/09/2019 19:32

I think No Deal needs to be off any referendum, owing to not legitimising insanity.

chomalungma · 14/09/2019 19:32

Can someone else respond to me so I know I'm not a figment of my own imagination

Grin

All I've heard this week is Labour supporting a vote with the option of Remain or a deal on the table.

I've heard countless people say they don't get this. I really struggle to see what's not to get.

BigChocFrenzy · 14/09/2019 19:33

Whatever Corbyn is offering, it'll be better than this hard right nihilism from the Tory party

Anyway, unless the ex-Tories compromise with Labour to agree a new PM, to call an extension,
we may well have a No Deal Brexit on 31 October,
so any GE after that would have very different party manifestos, e.g. PV would be obviously irrelevant

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:33

Will they make it non-party political, do you think? So their MPs can back what they want?

Conference will be interesting on that score! I agree with that!

thecatfromjapan · 14/09/2019 19:34

I know, choma - and Fluffy - it's surely pretty clear and a good thing.

The devil is going to be in the detail - but the headline - referendum - is pretty simple.

Random18 · 14/09/2019 19:35

I am pretty sure I have heard Corbyn say it too!

And he would be an absolute mug to change his mind!!

The last couple of weeks I have noticed more and more of us (me included) say we may vote for Labour.

And that is very different from a couple of months ago.

I am positive none of us like Corbyn any more than we did bit BJ has definitely focused the mind that he is the lesser of two evils.

Socksontheradiator · 14/09/2019 19:36

I would like to vote Labour but my area is usually a safe Conservative seat. I am looking hopefully at the remain alliance to see what they will do. I think that here, voting lib dem will probably be best for now.
I like Corbyn a lot, and believe that the media have done a great deal to discredit him.
Thank you for the thread, as always.

thecatfromjapan · 14/09/2019 19:36

I know, BigChoc.

I get moments of optimism - & then the sheer weight of it all crashes down again.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:36

I agree, thecat, especially as no deal doesn't even really exist, given that a deal will almost-immediately have to be made.

And I'm pretty bloody close to doing what I said I'd NEVER do, and voting Labour because of their policy (which is really easy to understand!). Times are indeed VERY strange! 😂

And yes, I agree there too, BCF.

Socks the most important thing to do is get rid of the tory.

If they are still a Tory MP then they deserve to go.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:39

Phew! I was beginning to worry there, what with people always walking at me on the pavement as well! Grin

prettybird · 14/09/2019 19:39

Coincidentally, this came up as one of my FB memories that I'd shared 4 years ago today Wink

Also just noticed that the profile picture of the person who shared it originally is now "Bolloks to Brexit" Grin
