From Flamingos to Yellowhammer and Black Swans.

The Tory Remainer is now a Dodo. Instead the party in inhabited by disaster capitalist Vultures. Jeremy Corbyn, meanwhile, has been labelled by the right wing press as a Chicken. The SNP would very much like Boris Johnson to be a Jailbird. The LDs are keen to sing like Canaries about the contents of BlackSwan. The Br

And the Tower of London is starting to get very jumpy about the whereabouts and location of its Ravens.

I would not, however, advise eating urban wild pigeons if things get desperate, from what I know of their health.

(And I doubt that many producers of materials in EU will want to test their stuff to a new U.K.-specific standard for a market of only 60million potential clients, when they can cover 550 with a EN test. So however I you flip it, as long as we will procure so many of our materials from Europe simply because it’s closer and cheaper (and better quality than American) I think we’ll be tied to EU rules for a long, long time. But without sitting at any of the committees that decide what’s written in these rules)

bear when even the banks/business are saying a corbyn govt wpuld be better than no deal, I listen.

The tories will NEVER be able to claim to be the "party of business" again.

They will fracture into a hard right wing erg/bxp party and a centre right/one nation party.

PerkingFaintly · 14/09/2019 19:04

I've been struck for a while by the fascinating spectacle of the apparent Schrodinger's Corbyn.

Who is at once a secret Remainer, who will betray the Will of the People™ and cannot be trusted to carry through Brexit.

And a secret Leaver, who will betray his people by carrying through Brexit.

Erm...

Outsomnia · 14/09/2019 19:05

Just dropping by to say that I think the courts on Tuesday will overturn the Scottish ruling.

Just a feeling, does anyone else have a view?

Alsohuman · 14/09/2019 19:05

What did Johnson say? “Fuck business”, wasn’t it?

Bearbehind · 14/09/2019 19:09

when even the banks/business are saying a corbyn govt wpuld be better than no deal, I listen.

But what is Corbyn offering?

OK, he’s says he doesn’t want no deal but the Tories never actually wanted no deal. BJ still claims not to.

They just assumed they’d get the deal they wanted, which is exactly what Corbyn is doing as far as I can see.

If Labour offered Revoke then I’d get it but I don’t understand it as it stands,

Hoooo · 14/09/2019 19:10

Revoke isn't going to happen.

Unless bo/cum completely self destruct

Bearbehind · 14/09/2019 19:13

Revoke isn't going to happen.

If Labour and LD ran on a revoke ticket and won a GE then why couldn’t it happen?

Labour have no chance of winning with their current lack of strategy so why not?

Outsomnia · 14/09/2019 19:14

No Deal is an imagined threat to the EU. Nothing more, nothing less.

EU is standing firm from what I read and see anyway. It is just the hubris of the elites in thinking they are better than everyone else.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 14/09/2019 19:14

Labour is the only party trying to form a consensus between the wishes of both 52 and 48 percenters, were very aware ur anti Corbyn Bear nd the Labour position has been explained to you on many threads so stop being disingenuous, we all see what you are doing No Dealer

Bearbehind · 14/09/2019 19:17

just I’ve asked you before to be civil please.

Labours position hasn’t been explained - even this week Corbyn, Watson and Starmer have all said completely different things.

What does a Labour Brexit look like?

Icantreachthepretzels · 14/09/2019 19:18

Corbyn is offering a referendum on a sensible deal (even if that is only TM's deal) vs remain. And many labour MPs are saying that they will campaign for remain in this circumstance - even if Corbyn doesn't (he is after all entitled to be a lexiteer as long as he doesn't stop others from campaigning for what they believe in.)
What more would anyone want him to offer?

BigChocFrenzy · 14/09/2019 19:18

Ignore the flood of optimistic stories - being stoked up by No. 10

Optimism NOT shared in Brussels

Mujtaba Rahmann@Mij*_Europe

Senior EU officials telling me this morning they still don't see cause for optimism that's being reflected in London.

In some areas seems things have actually gone backwards

Bearbehind · 14/09/2019 19:19

But Corbyn isn’t offering a referendum, he’s never agreed to it, even though his party say differently.

So yes it is Sam Gymiah. Not very exciting really.

chomalungma · 14/09/2019 19:22

But Corbyn isn’t offering a referendum, he’s never agreed to it, even though his party say differently

That's the message I have heard - a referendum offering a choice between the best deal they have negotiated or to in remain in the EU.

I struggle to see how people are misinterpreting this. It's not that complicated.

BigChocFrenzy · 14/09/2019 19:22

BJ is lying

He is not seriously looking for a deal

Any more than a deadbeat claiming he is turning things around - but means he's just buying a lottery ticket

The Tories have been the party of No Deal ever since BJ became leader

Random18 · 14/09/2019 19:23

Bear why would you not vote for any party that is not Tory / BXP.

I do not want an extremist govt, I don't want No Deal. The Tories are an extremist party now who are breaking laws left right centre and they need to be stopped.

I will vote for anyone at the ballot box who can unseat my MP.

I hope others do the same.

For me its actually no longer about Brexit. As long as we don't no deal then its OK.

For me now its about getting our country back from the extremists.

The only way to do that is compromise.

Errrr, yes, he is bear.

chomalungma · 14/09/2019 19:24

Labour have no chance of winning with their current lack of strategy so why not

Don't you think it offers people a final way out of this that enables both Leavers and Remainers a chance to say they have been heard and have had a chance to vote with more information with more details of what leave looks like?

Bearbehind · 14/09/2019 19:25

That's the message I have heard - a referendum offering a choice between the best deal they have negotiated or to in remain in the EU.

I’m honestly not being a GF here - where have you seen Corbyn confirm this because I really haven’t?

Other party members have said it but he has resolutely avoided confirming it.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 19:26

It's HERE, bear. Very, very, very easy to find via Google.

thecatfromjapan · 14/09/2019 19:26

Bear A position can't be confirmed until Conference.

And Conference is going to be ... interesting.
