It's on the BBC news website.

What an utter prick.

I'd my dcs did this at the dinner table there would be words.

Shows his complete and utter contempt for parliamentary discussions that aren't going his way.

Karl Turner MP:
‘As a working class bloke brought up on a council estate in #Hull I always feel enormous pride and gratitude when I go into the chamber of the House of Commons to represent east #Hull. I’ve never felt a sense of entitlement. This is what that looks like!?’ (Pic of lounging disrespectful JRM)

EskewedBeef · 04/09/2019 07:56

It's not the same as taking advantage of an empty seat next to you on the train home! This arrogant specimen is essentially in a critical meeting at work. Can you imagine how you'd feel if you were in a work meeting discussing potential redundancies and a manager decided to loll about and demonstrate how bored they are?

FeminismandWomensFights · 04/09/2019 07:56

Absolutely shocking to see the contemptuous lounging about by that utter tool Jacob Rees Mogg, after that radio interview where he sneered at a consultant doctor as a ‘Remoaner’ who was informed on government planning, simply for asking questions about the inevitable deaths that a no deal Brexit would bring...

As this QC tweeted, behaviour like that would be in contempt of court if it were in a court of law.

Shocking to see the front bench with JRM behaving like that and Nadine Dorries while the moderate, questioning, Tories are literally being kicked out and their Parliamentary passes stopped.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 04/09/2019 08:01

Lord Snooty thinks he’s above it all. He might be in for a shock. Showing such contempt for parliament won’t go down well with his voters.

MysteryTripAgain · 04/09/2019 08:12

pity he's never answered why he's so hateful towards women who've had abortions and so against it in all circumstances while being comfortable with profiting from abortion pills

Take a look at:

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jacob-rees-mogg-abortion-pills-abortion-rape-conservative-party-conference-tory-leadership-leader-a7976386.html

JRM explains his personal position

Or why he has such faith in brexit when he's moved his funds to Dublin

Watch the Bishop Auckland episode of BBC Question Time. JRM explains.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 04/09/2019 08:25

Gosh I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be putting my faith in JRM.

FamilyOfAliens · 04/09/2019 08:28

He’s an absolute phoney, I can’t believe how many people are taken in by him! He revels in being seen as an eccentric but he is completely banal.

Surely he doesn’t think people are genuinely taken in by the costume and the upper-class twit accent? I don’t know anyone in my social circle who is.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 04/09/2019 08:34

I don’t know, that whole “honourable member for the seventeenth century” thing that people think is hilarious - he obviously LOVES that but he is an absolute fraud and it’s completely mannered

Manontry · 04/09/2019 08:36

There was a woman mp slouched on the floor on the Labour side. She looked pretty relaxed also.

FeminismandWomensFights · 04/09/2019 08:41

Hmm Woman MP slouching is not lying down with your feet up across the government front bench at a time of national crisis. While all your moderate political rivals are being purged.

Bodoni · 04/09/2019 08:44

History calling, history calling …

Lord Haw-Haw (William Joyce) - an American-born, British Fascist politician and Nazi propaganda broadcaster to the UK in WWII. Spoke in an affected upper-class English accent, and his broadcasts were full of “infuriating content and frequent inaccuracies and exaggerations.” Ask your DPs/DGPs.

Convicted of high treason and hanged on 3 January 1946.

(But it’s Johnson who’s American born.) Just saying.

FeminismandWomensFights · 04/09/2019 09:10

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world

Peregrina · 04/09/2019 10:40

They don’t make me work up to 11 at night, so I won’t judge.

Plenty of people have to work until 11 o'clock at night, or even later. Imagine if all hospital staff said they would only work day shifts. You would be judging then, so don't bother making excuses for this arrogant prat. He knows what the hours in the House are like; he can always stand down if he finds it just too onerous to do the job he's paid for.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 04/09/2019 11:04

Exactly peregrina

Plenty of people work past 11pm. Including me at times for a whooooolllleeee lot less. Train drivers, Station staff, Taxi drivers, Bouncers, Security staff, hotel staff, nurses, doctors, midwives, porters, cleaners, anyone whose ever worked in the law profession, Chefs, cooks, waitresses(ers), Airline personnel....I could go on. All these people attempt to take their jobs seriously even when they are exhausted and often for a hell of a lot less.

Yet someone with the honour of representing the people of this country blantantly shows he cannot be asked. Am I and others like me, meant to have respect for such people?? Really? How and Why exactly?! Someone tell me.

And the excuses do not cut the mustard. He is appealing to the lowest most base kind of voter in this country who will praise his 'gumption and insolence' stupid leftovers from the feudal system who want to tug their forelock because some talks posh and is English. Nevermind he can barely contain his disdain.

bobbieflekman · 04/09/2019 11:36

Caroline Lucas called him out on it though. She's awesome.

completely disrespectful behaviour on the part of JRM, but I agree I think they look like they're losing their cool

PortiaCastis · 04/09/2019 11:38

Attention seeking arsehole, his nanny wouldn't be best pleased with his disrespecting the house antics, he's just made himself look an arrogant twat

Tanith · 04/09/2019 11:41

The contempt and disrespect started when Aaron Banks walked out of that Parliament inquiry meeting with no consequences.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 04/09/2019 11:47

This takes manspreading to a whole new - and alarmingly effete - level!

Shouldcolder · 04/09/2019 11:51

There was an opposition mp on the other side sitting on the floor with her shoes off.

Re JRM, I didn’t interpret it as lacking respect etc. My ASD/SPD teen does this when he’s feeling out of sorts. It gives sensory feedback when you’re feeling rather unanchored.

PortiaCastis · 04/09/2019 11:55

Grease -smug was attention seeking and attention he got but the people of his constituency saw him lolloping about like Larry the Cat and they are the folks keeping him in his job so they will judge. All these pompous clowns showing off because the camera is on them seem to forget they need re- electing quite soon

Horehound · 04/09/2019 12:12

I'll just leave this here

Jacob ReesMogg lounging across 3 seats in the houses of Parliament, when brexit is being discussed
Shouldcolder · 04/09/2019 12:14

Ahhhh mind bleach!!!

OrangeJustice · 04/09/2019 12:18

Nailed it.

Jacob ReesMogg lounging across 3 seats in the houses of Parliament, when brexit is being discussed
AuldAlliance · 04/09/2019 12:25

He did not answer a single question in any way. "I was at Lord's watching the cricket" is an irrelevant and disrespectful way to answer a critical question about whether lies have been openly and blatantly told by those in power.
He may be well read but that makes him neither clever nor competent.

LittleSweet · 04/09/2019 12:43

He rolled his eyes very dramatically too. Someone on here called him a Victorian stick insect! He definitely thinks he's more important than he is. Once Donald Trump became the new normal for a political leader, a certain type of person thinks that they can behave like they want too. So disrespectful to the whole country, but why are we surprised?
