People are meeting at College Green (just down the way from Parliament Square) this evening at 5:30 (and on I guess)

Saturday 31st there is a protest outside Downing street at 12pm. See photo.

I'll add any more that I see. Feel free to do the same.

OYBBK Swansea was lovely, sunny and peaceful and a happy atmosphere. We even had a singsong Grin and our MP sang a pro people’s vote song he’d written himself which was a little surreal Grin but I felt safe. I would estimate about 100 were there so not huge but the message was one of hope and there were no counter protesters.

I do worry that there will be more clashes and as a result a more negative view of what we are doing even though it’s not remainers chucking barriers at police Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/09/2019 22:48

That's lovely to hear Jackie, it sounds like a very positive event.

I will still go up when ever I get the opportunity. A small number of thugs mustn't put us off. They don't get to dictate what we do. Peaceful protest is our right.

It felt surreal in Whitehall today. At about 13:00 - 13:30 it started kicking off in Parliament Square with Brexiteers being surrounded by police. The rally started off peacefully and remained so with LOTS of police keeping the two groups apart. I’ve never seen so many police at one of these marches/demos before, including riot police and the Territorial Support Group (2 vans), who I had never heard of before. Lots of mounted police. At one point a very drunk and barefoot woman broke through the police line and came running towards the peaceful rally shouting threats but she was easily dealt with and led away by friends. Among the pro-EU/anti-Boris demonstrators were a group of frankly silly looking kids with bandannas over their faces who I think would have loved to have got into a fight with the football lads (they’d have come out of it very badly by the looks of them). Later there was trouble at the Trafalgar Square end of Whitehall with more facist thugs running riot and riot police running up to deal with them. The march (because the rally had become a march) stood still waiting for the road to be cleared for some time, chanting and singing, and I left by a side street at about 5:45 so as to get home at a reasonable time. The police did a very good job and were thanked by many. It was a very different feeling from any previous marches and rallies, and I blame that slimeball Johnson and the psychopath Cummings for dragging us down into this particular circle of Hell with them.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/09/2019 23:28

Thank you so much for going today Born. It sounds like the Police did a superb job today.

Thanks OYBBK. Actually I haven’t had so much fun for ages. It takes me back to my rebellious youth...I’ve been respectable for far too long!

Thanks to everyone who has been demonstrating peacefully for Remain, against the PM, against no deal and against the PMs sacking of the moderates in the Tory Party. These times feel very strange and worrying. I wanted to go to demonstrate locally today but decided not to because I would have had to bring DC with me and didn’t want them seeing anything aggressive. Grateful to the police for keeping order in Westminster today and glad it all went OK.

Hopefully, there will be lots of opportunities for meet-ups. 🙂

thecatfromjapan · 12/09/2019 09:06

This isn't a protest against prorogation, so I hope it's OK posting here.

For anyone interested in raising awareness of the Peiple's Vote march on Parliament on October 19th, People's Vote are looking for volunteers to deliver leaflets in their area.

You sign up for as many leaflets/streets as you think you might be able to do - so no pressure but it will also be self-organised.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/09/2019 11:45

Of course it's ok to post that here :) all anti-brexit-chaos protests are welcome! It's a good point, we need to be getting ready for that protest!
