I can see the point if it's medicines or medical supplies, but I've seen a few threads here where people are stashing tuna, toilet rolls and sweets!?

Are you all fucking mad?

I'm a total remainder but come on, I know it'll be shit but you'll still find asda and tesco will be open

All those who think stockpiling is mad will have loads of room in their freezers for some lamb!

howwudufeel · 01/08/2019 20:02

Not in a tizz at all.

bellinisurge · 01/08/2019 20:04

So, what's your issue with being told that beef comes from cattle in a field? Genuinely confused

AutumnCrow · 01/08/2019 20:05

Not in a tizz at all

Nope

Socksontheradiator · 01/08/2019 20:13

I just read the article posted above. Have a suspicion that the country at large with realise that those clever people who are going to sort it all out...might actually not know what they are talking about.
I am am glad my buffer is sound. I think private stockpiling may begin soon on a much larger scale

howwudufeel · 01/08/2019 20:14

The irony of being described as being in a tizzy by people who are stockpiling twenty years of toilet roll because of Brexit.
Grin

bellinisurge · 01/08/2019 20:18

But I'm not stockpiling 20 years of toilet roll.😂😂

21 years then Grin

AutumnCrow · 01/08/2019 20:21

The irony

Yup

howwudufeel · 01/08/2019 20:23

Your witty one word retorts are wonderfully clever Autumn.

bellinisurge · 01/08/2019 20:23

Do you have something you want to say @howwudufeel or are you just not having a tizz at us.

StoorieHoose · 01/08/2019 20:25

Any other examples of misinformation apart from cows living in fields?

howwudufeel · 01/08/2019 20:28

Not really bellini.

AutumnCrow · 01/08/2019 20:38

Britain faces potential "consumer panic" and gaps in security within weeks of leaving the EU without a deal, according to an official government document obtained by Sky News.

Britons living in EU countries could start returning home and there may be law and order challenges in Northern Ireland, while the pound will fall, a [powerpoint] slide prepared for ministers reveals.

Sky News just a few minutes ago. Thank you @Jars123 for the link.

darkcloudsandsunnyskies · 01/08/2019 20:58

it will be like after the war. We will all end up thin and fit. Great. That will save the N H S a fortune. It’s a health bonanza.

Brexit the gift that never stops giving.

darkcloudsandsunnyskies · 01/08/2019 21:01

Ramp up the fear meter. Bog role sales are declining.

Galleyfm · 01/08/2019 21:01

Hi, sorry for the questions I'm just having my eyes opened by this thread as although I'm a remainer I haven't really thought about the impact so thank you! My question for you who are a bit more in the know is: are will still to expect disruption if a deal is made? I'm thinking just slight paperwork changes may cause problems at first just not what a no deal would. Thanks

Clavinova · 01/08/2019 21:15

Cloudtree
Well nobody thinks we are going to starve.

In fact several posters suggest that regularly on this forum.

I'm not so selfish that I'm only thinking about myself.

Bellinisurge is only going to share food with 'people who can be useful to her' if there is a shortage of food - not quite sure what she means by that.

bellinisurge · 01/08/2019 21:29

Your point, @Clavinova ?

I'm a general prepper. I don't share.

AutumnCrow · 01/08/2019 21:34

I don't think anyone knows, tbh, @Galleyfm.

I would personally rather be safe than sorry, as I'm sure most people would; especially those like me and OH who have caring responsibilities.

A small buffer isn't going to hurt anyone.

(As an aside, and not you @Galley, I think that people who come on threads like this specifically to take the piss out of people who are caring for vulnerable relatives, children with special needs, and who are themselves probably financially vulnerable, are saying an awful lot about themselves and how they do and will likely behave towards others in difficult times.)

howwudufeel · 01/08/2019 21:40

You assume that people who think prepping is ridiculous aren’t themselves caring for vulnerable people. That certainly isn’t true in my case.

bellinisurge · 01/08/2019 21:41

Again, @howwudufeel , what point are you trying to make?
