Will be interesting to see what happens next

It will. I'm guessing they will ask for and be given a long extension and during that time they will either have another referendum or a general election. Another referendum would be more stable than a general election I think (Less upheavel)

WordsAndWorlds · 13/03/2019 19:26

But what does it really mean?? If nobody can come up with a deal, and May refuses to revoke...does it make any difference that they've voted to take No Deal off the table when it's still the legal default? This vote doesn't override that, right?

ScafellPoke · 13/03/2019 19:26

It was a close one 😬

goldengummybear · 13/03/2019 19:27

4 votes... gulp!

Apileofballyhoo · 13/03/2019 19:27

Good question, words.

Opheliasgoldenwine · 13/03/2019 19:27

Echoing @WordsAndWorlds, I'd like an answer too 😩

StealthPolarBear · 13/03/2019 19:28

Words I'm guessing there will be an extension and then eventually a deal will be passed. Which is just dragging it out.

Yes, very close...

Lottapianos · 13/03/2019 19:29

By FOUR fucking votes! Irresponsible shitheads Angry I'm so angry. Still not a frigging clue what's going to happen. 2 weeks to go. Jesus.

whymewhynow · 13/03/2019 19:29

It's pure fantasy - unless the MPs can find a way through this that is acceptable to the EU then No Deal is still very much on the table. The only difference is the government will have to use some weasly words to pretend that it's not a potential outcome.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 13/03/2019 19:29

I don't think they will agree on a deal, extension or not. The northern Ireland border problem simply cannot be solved. Sometimes there isn't a solution for a problem, it just remains a problem.

MajesticWhine · 13/03/2019 19:30

It is not legally binding to prevent a no deal. But it definitely helps.

KennDodd · 13/03/2019 19:30

I wouldn't get too excited, Brexit on the 29th (as yet) deal or no deal is still the law.

Darkbendis · 13/03/2019 19:31

That was close! Bloody close! And everything is still unclear!

gamerchick · 13/03/2019 19:31

But aren't the EU going to 'charge' an extra billion a month for an extension?

Can't remember where I read that though. There's information overload going on atm.

ScafellPoke · 13/03/2019 19:31

Yes notsuch If they haven’t in the past two years then they never will.

MIdgebabe · 13/03/2019 19:31

THE eu have to agree to an extension though or no deal will just happen. What can the government offer the eu to make it worth their while not just walking away?

AsparagusSoup · 13/03/2019 19:31

JRM being a patronising prick on Sky news, no change there then...

goldengummybear · 13/03/2019 19:31

Basically the vote isn't legally binding.
Under EU and UK law we are still leaving on 29/3. We need to change UK law and ask EU to change their law before No Deal is officially off the table.

whymewhynow · 13/03/2019 19:32

And I don't believe an extension is inevitable either - we have lost so much political capital in this farce. The EU don't want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary, being ducked around by us - we need the semblance of a plan to get an extension that is of any useful length.

domesticslattern · 13/03/2019 19:32

No Deal isn't off the table.
Tonight is just about political statements of intent. It remains the de if we can't agree a deal with the EU.
Two weeks guys, two weeks Sad

ScafellPoke · 13/03/2019 19:32

By staying midge Grin

domesticslattern · 13/03/2019 19:33

** default

GoldenHour · 13/03/2019 19:34

It's not off the table though, it can still happen, it just means the house have stated their stance.

Worker29 · 13/03/2019 19:34

Could they have a 3 question referendum?
TM's deal,No deal, revoke Article 50 and remain?
