Put it to the People March 23rd March

www.peoples-vote.uk/march

While it's cutting things rather fine, the next People's vote is on March 23rd. It's clear the politicians have no clue. They still can't agree on what brexit should look like. Time to take it back to the people.

To people who respond to tell me things like 'we won, get over it',
I'd like to thank you in advance for bumping the thread.

So today I went to DMs to pick up cardboard and placard sticks (she has all sorts of DIY/crafty stuff) merrily thought about the witty slogans I would write, then I picked up DS from nursery...he has a handful of chicken pox :( (it’s been going round his class), DS is fine and not itchy but obviously contagious so we’ll be with you in spirit!

My placard was going to say Grazie! These people are on my side.

Nacreous · 22/03/2019 16:56

I wish I could be there tomorrow. I will be there in spirit.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/03/2019 17:16

Coat but not big winter one. It's going to feel less damp once the cold front goes through, even though it won't really be colder than today.

@CurrerBell We're taking our son who has DS and ASD, we're taking along some ear defenders just in case, and just crossing our fingers that he'll be enjoying the atmosphere to much to be overly fussed!

SleightOfMind · 22/03/2019 17:35

Was supposed to be working but have managed to get away with it after covering all of parliament’s unexpected late nights for the last two weeks Hmm

So, I’m coming with DD (9) and one of the DTs (6)!!

We’re in London so can bring supplies for others if necessary.

My friend (Remain) brought tea and cake out to the Leave marchers when they passed her house.
The motorway go-slow is incredibly spiteful.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 22/03/2019 17:37

i am travelling down from manchester with my dh and two teenage kids.
Am going make my placard tonight!
I am really looking forward to it-will be nice to feel i am actually doing something rather than sitting helplessly by watching the shit show enfold before us.

LarkDescending · 22/03/2019 17:38

Speeches in Parliament Square are due to start at 2.45pm, rather than 2pm.

If the October precedent is anything to go by they will actually start a bit later than scheduled (though that may not be a reliable precedent).

Trekkingbeyond · 22/03/2019 17:41

I would wear a coat tbh, there's a lit of hanging around. I made the mistake of not even taking a jacket in October (it was a lot warmer) but got really cold by the evening and really regretted it

DarlingNikitta we were the ones still walking down Whitehall when all the speeches had finished!

Sorry to be a pain if it's already been asked, but if you want to be pretty much at the head of the march which tube would you get off at and what would be the latest time?

DarlingNikita · 22/03/2019 17:58

we were the ones still walking down Whitehall when all the speeches had finished!
Sorry to hear that! I thought it was still fun and a nice atmosphere though.

Trekkingbeyond · 22/03/2019 18:02

DarlingNikkita not complaining at all! It was wonderful, thoroughly enjoyed being amongst all those peaceful folk but would rather like to see the speakers this time!

DarlingNikita · 22/03/2019 18:15

Hope you do manage it, Trekkingbeyond!

BercowsSilkTie · 22/03/2019 18:48

All the best for tomorrow everyone! Let's hope your efforts are rewarded and the powers that be LISTEN! Thank you to all of you that are marching. I can't go but will be there in spirit. Stay safe and do us proud Thanks

Toooldtobearsed2 · 22/03/2019 18:52

My backpack is packed, my whistle is ready. I have clothes to layer with and a fully charged phone. I have food and drink. Sunglasses and wet wipes. I have a debit card, not carrying cash.
I will be leaving home at 4am, so if anyone has bright ideas, shout now!

Ooohh, getting quite excited😁

weather
London is a WONDERFUL city
even if you show your faces and then retreat across the parks to the Princess of Wales playground in the top west corner of Kensington Gardens
you'll still be part of the day

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/03/2019 19:48

I think being at the actual head of the march can be a bit tricky if organised groups take up places, butif you want to try I'd get to Hyde Park corner for around 11. No guarantees though.

Headache tablets! I seem to end up dishing them out by the end of marches.

Slings are really good in London, but you might be grateful at having somewhere to put the little one down.

OhYouBadBadKitten paracetomol, Rennies and plasters packed😉

TwigTheWonderKid · 22/03/2019 20:17

There were many families at the first and second marches with buggies Theweathermansaid. I'd probably be inclined to bring both if mine were still little.

The Twigs are ready...

Put it to the People March 23rd March
Helmetbymidnight · 22/03/2019 20:20

I'm joining the accessible route/small kid marchers from Trafalgar square - I think the idea is to go from there at 12.30, tucking behind the very first cohort.
I'm looking forward to it!

SweetestThing · 22/03/2019 20:29

I'll be there tomorrow, with DH and meeting up with an old friend from uni I haven't seen for 40 years! She's getting an overnight coach from Scotland and returning on tomorrow's overnight coach.

I also have over 70 names of friends who can't get to the march but want to be there in spirit, written on my big EU flag.

Can't wait for this huge public demonstration against May and her cronies. Power to the people!

BlackeyedGruesome · 22/03/2019 20:33

Good luck. Will be cheering on from here as we can not make it.

lazylittlelucy · 22/03/2019 21:00

Have not posted much on Brexit boards but have been reading and catching up diligently. Am furious about the whole Brexit debacle 😡
DH and I travelling from Manchester for tomorrow's March. Both quite excited about it ... 😁

Littlespaces · 22/03/2019 21:03

My balloon is absolutely enormous.

Nearly my height!
