Put it to the People March 23rd March

www.peoples-vote.uk/march

While it's cutting things rather fine, the next People's vote is on March 23rd. It's clear the politicians have no clue. They still can't agree on what brexit should look like. Time to take it back to the people.

To people who respond to tell me things like 'we won, get over it',
I'd like to thank you in advance for bumping the thread.

You don't sound like one, you just sound like someone doing something new for the first time. You might prefer the accessible route from Trafalgar square just cos it's shorter and Ithink may be less crowded. But don't worry about ducking in and out, stopping off for coffee or whatever. Usually a pavement is kept free (not at park lane but further down the route) so you can even stand along the side and wave at people going past.

We can't come on the march but will be there in spirit. If anyone would be willing to put our names on their placard on banner or whatever you've made then please get in touch via inbox.

SparklySneakers · 20/03/2019 21:40

I heard it mentioned earlier in Parliament (Might have been the SNP guy who said it) that they are expecting a million people on the March which is awesome!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/03/2019 21:54

That's a nice idea actually Sparkly, if anyone is looking to make a placard they could make one for all the mners who would like to have been able to attend.

Hmmph no one answered my question about the petition but I assume it’s this one petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584 which is heading quite fast towards 200,000...

BlackeyedGruesome · 20/03/2019 22:22

it was linked earlier in the thread, (17.12.18) kizzy, but yes that is the one.

KizzyWayfarer · 20/03/2019 22:26

No harm in bumping it! It is weirdly hypnotic to watch the numbers going up.

BlackeyedGruesome · 20/03/2019 22:28

200202... just because I am probably aspie and the numbers make me happy. Blush

BlackeyedGruesome · 20/03/2019 22:29

I see I am not the only one then...

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/03/2019 22:30

That's quick!

Unescorted · 20/03/2019 22:32

watching it tick by is the only thing keeping me sane

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/03/2019 23:08

252,563!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/03/2019 23:14

Up to 259,606 in a few minutes!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2019 23:15

257,690!

I might go to that Liverpool rally with DD(5). It's only 40 minutes on the train. I'd like her to go and see this kind of thing. I couldn't afford the London train fare though.

Her birthday is 23.06, so it's kind of fitting too!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2019 23:15

I'm a slow typist!

Songsofexperience · 20/03/2019 23:15

Imagine it for a second reaching several million...

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/03/2019 23:32

278,678!

Need to turn it off now and go to bed.

Miljah · 20/03/2019 23:52

I have absolutely cut to the end- sorry. But isn't what we should be marching for us to revoke A50? At this stage?

I fear a PV because so many Leavers have been forced into a corner, by their own logic, so, like cornered rats, they'll come out snarling, and will vote Leave again.

I don't think many hearts and minds have been converted in the last 1000 days. All of my (few) Leave friends point- blank refuse to enter into debate.

This is what we're up against.

Let's revoke A50 and save them from themselves.

They'll thank us one day. 😊

Miljah · 20/03/2019 23:53

And why isn't it 16.1 million by now?

Miljah · 20/03/2019 23:56

300,000

It isn't enough.

lonelyplanetmum · 21/03/2019 02:03

I am in zone 2 London - is it likely to be ok to go by myself and a young child (under 5)?

I just would like to know what people think who marched last time?

Yes I've marched with children- it's fine. Loads of children there. Best to join march part of way along the route to avoid the waiting hanging around at the start. You can dip in and out too- have a break in a Park. It's fun.

MutantDisco · 21/03/2019 03:55

I'm going on the march with 2 DC (6 and 2). DS2 was a month old when the ref took place Sad

God this whole thing is awful. How dare TM blame MPs for scrutinising her shit deal?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/03/2019 07:06

Don't forget, if you can't afford the fare, there are some funds available here:

There have been so many petitions that so think people are becoming petition blind or think they must have signed them all already.

The deal was negotiated with 27 other countries. It is a compromise between them all. It isn't going to be as good as the deal we have now as part of the EU.

This is going to be as good as it gets.

MPs have ruled out the deal and no deal. There is only revoke or extend left.

It is all very well saying go back and negotiate but the others won't change what is on offer.

It seems like MPs have forgotten that they are only part of one side.of the negotiations.
