www.peoples-vote.uk/march

While it's cutting things rather fine, the next People's vote is on March 23rd. It's clear the politicians have no clue. They still can't agree on what brexit should look like. Time to take it back to the people.

To people who respond to tell me things like 'we won, get over it',
I'd like to thank you in advance for bumping the thread.

But the balloons were quite good and we kept one and gave the others away at the end! I might get some again actually.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/03/2019 10:47

If you prick the balloon right up by the tie it just deflates rather than actually popping. If that's useful?

BonnesVacances · 19/03/2019 10:52

Last year I left my placard propped up outside the cabinet office so I didn't have to bring it home. I saw it come up in quite a few photos in the media which was good!

lonelyplanetmum · 19/03/2019 11:07

Yes I'd forgotten that... and the stickers!

Is it too much standing around for kids of that age do you think?

I find waiting for the start with DH a bit tedious and he's 50+.

Perhaps play in Green Park and then join from the side somewhere once the movement starts? Or go to the square early and find some one else with children to play with?

TalkinPaece · 19/03/2019 14:33

Friends of ours who went last year dipped in and out while pottering around the parks and other bits - so they enjoyed the 'vibe' but did not get too tired walking very slowly

DH and I plan to do the same

lonelyplanetmum · 19/03/2019 14:37

The children enjoy it once it's moving though!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/03/2019 17:54

Blah you could join in from Trafalgar square, there may be space to move there and you wouldnt need to be there until later (look at the accessibility page)

Independent have info about the speakers: www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-final-say-put-it-to-the-people-march-peoples-vote-23-march-referendum-london-theresa-may-a8782881.html

Another person interested in a meet-up... wondered about Marble Arch?

Mistigri · 19/03/2019 19:25

If we get a National Express coach from stansted airport into London on Saturday, would we be better planning to get off at one of the north London stops likes Golders Green? I assume central London traffic will be heavy from quite early on?

TalkinPaece · 19/03/2019 19:37

I shall be wearing a red tooth brush in my button hole

so in amongst the other million people I'll stand out a mile Wink

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/03/2019 21:02

Shall we start a thread about meet ups? With the proviso that I'm not in a position to actually organise it? I don't think I can muddle my real life group of friends with all of you lovely mn friends - it would be a hard explanation!

My DD (11) is rocking it with funny comments today.

She said she's more excited about this march than the others and I said I am too and asked her why?

She said she thinks it's because we are in a harsher situation.

I said what because it's closer in time or could it be because it feels a bigger protest.

She concluded .. it could just because we've got better props!

Flobochin · 20/03/2019 08:59

How many times should, we have a referendum, peoples march?

You can't please all of the people all of the time
But you can please some of the people some of the time

Bloody remainers do my head in.

lonelyplanetmum · 20/03/2019 09:12

But the rather critical problem is that the Leave camp can't even come up with a plan that pleases themselves.

BonnesVacances · 20/03/2019 10:04

Flobochin I think you've wandered onto the wrong thread. Confused

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/03/2019 10:19

don't worry, every ardent leaver who accidentally upsets themselves by wandering on to the thread and bumping it is helping raise the profile of the march.
