Put it to the People March 23rd March

www.peoples-vote.uk/march

While it's cutting things rather fine, the next People's vote is on March 23rd. It's clear the politicians have no clue. They still can't agree on what brexit should look like. Time to take it back to the people.

To people who respond to tell me things like 'we won, get over it',
I'd like to thank you in advance for bumping the thread.

It's fine to be at Whitehall if you don't have a particular time to get your transport, but I agree, it can be a bit tricky to get through if you need to leave early (have a look at google maps to check exits)

Evening all. DH and 2 DSs and I will be there! Coming from Wimbledon after DS2's football match.

Not sure whether to recycle the 2 placards we used for the last two marches (It's Time to Exit Brexit and Shove Brexit Up Your Exit) or if this situation calls for something new. We will definitely be taking whistles and other noise-making devices.

Some of the coaches are going from places which I know voted Leave. Absolutely! MIL is from North Wales (where 56% voted leave) and it is heartening to see coaches coming from this area.

That's great Twig!

I’m going by train with several others. There are 8 coaches going from my neck of the woods.

I'm planning on marching with dh and 2 teenagers. North London based so not too difficult for us. we have massive admiration for all those who are coming from much further afield.

Since we're reasonably local we won't have the same time constraints for catching coaches home so wondering if it is better for us to head down later. If we get to marble arch around 3pm will people still be setting off from there based on the previous march?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 17/03/2019 13:47

Tentatively optimistic about the weather....

lalalonglegs · 17/03/2019 13:49

Yes, it took hours for the last march to fully clear Park Lane. I'm also London-based and w/o seeing, if we have a MN meeting point, if there's anything I can bring for lkng-distance travellers?

Littlespaces · 17/03/2019 13:53

Where is the best place to start?

Someone mentioned that the official start point will be heaving.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 17/03/2019 13:59

In October I got to Park Lane late, politely made mey way to the end of the queue (at Speakers' Corner!) and stayed there for hours without moving. Eventually headed home from Trafalgar Square as there was no way to proceed further. Loved it anyway!

I think the best advice if you want to get to the speeches is to get there early, wherever you start.

DarlingNikita · 17/03/2019 14:13

At the last one I just went straight to Parliament Square. Very glad I did; as I left after the rally, people were still trooping down Whitehall on their way to the square.

Peridot1 · 17/03/2019 14:20

Really wish I could come but unfortunately am overseas next weekend. Have donated to Getmetothemarch - thanks for the link.

I strongly suspect there will be many more there than last time. Hope so anyway.

TheChequerBoard · 17/03/2019 17:23

Thanks all. In that case maybe we'll get down there early instead and try to be near the front of the queue! Really looking forward to it.

Songsofexperience · 17/03/2019 18:28

Do we think it's going to be bigger this time? Are there any speakers lined up?

CruCru · 17/03/2019 21:11

All right. I’m convinced - I’ll be coming.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/03/2019 21:17

I'm sure there will be speakers and I do think it will be big, butI guess this week could influence things.

Dark& Stormy - you and I must have been near each other ….. I was the one with the really loud bells.

TalkinPaece · 17/03/2019 21:29

Please remember that even if the WA passes next week,
that is just the start of the next ten years of shit
that we did not vote for and do not want

the march only becomes irrelevant if there is a permanent revoke

Peaseblossom22 · 17/03/2019 22:54

Just booked tickets on coach with my son . Not marched before but never been so frustrated and angry as this and feel I need to make a stand

AntiHop · 17/03/2019 23:01

I'll be there with dp and our 4 year old.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/03/2019 08:11

That's very true Talkin.

It's so great to see so many people here saying they are coming for the first time. Well done!

Current forecast is for settled conditions, a little breezy and cool, but dry.

borntobequiet · 18/03/2019 08:14

Some family/friends of mine who wanted to go last time but couldn't are definitely coming this time. Hooray!

Littlespaces · 18/03/2019 08:17

I'm hoping London based Remain voters & others who are thinking they have been lied to by Farage & co, will come out in force.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 18/03/2019 09:00

Unescorted oh that was you, was it? Grin
